  1. Estrada is up to 44 pitches. Do they try to extend him for 4? With Young, Harris, and Plouffe due I'd go for it.
  2. Estrada has a manageable 28 pitches through two. That's a good sign. They're hoping at minimum to get 3 innings out of him, at this point maybe he can stretch that to 4.
  3. I was about to post the exact same thing. It is odd still seeing the 0 in the opposing team's run column.
  4. Inglett sprained his ankle sliding into the plate during yesterday's game. The Brewers are lucky Gerut showed up midway through the game otherwise we would have been going sans DH, or Craig Counsell would have been playing left field.
  5. I love the picture for today. Considering Braun is the DH again that has to say good things about Inglett's ankle, right? If Inglett weren't able to go you'd think McGehee would DH and Counsell would be at 3B giving us an extra outfielder (Gerut) in case something happens.
  6. Adam McCalvy tweeted the expected, Gamel moved to the 60-day DL to make room for Braddock.
  7. Unless Braddock is flying charter he's probably going to show up halfway through the game. He can make the big Kevin Mench WWE-esque entrance. After someone remarked in the comments section of McCalvy's blog about how it is odd that Braddock could make it tomorrow but a starter couldn't I found the earliest flight into MSP was exactly at 1:02pm. Too late for a SP, but if Braddock makes it to the stadium by the 4th inning ala Gerut today he could still play.
  8. In the post game news conference Macha just said Braddock will be up tomorrow. Considering the state of the staff, they'll probably need him.
  9. Tomorrow is going to be a bullpen day, according to Macha. Estrada will start, Parra will pitch, Bush may also pitch. Sounds like fun.
  10. They can make it retroactive so he'd still be able to come off within a couple weeks.
  11. Depending on how long they're going to hold Hoffman out for, they could find some tiny reason to DL him if they really need to clear a spot.
  12. Good job Manny. With Manny not pitching tomorrow, they could send Estrada down (if he has any options left?) for Capuano, or they could send Estrada and Stetter out for Capuano and Braddock. lol
  13. Wow Corey! That was an excellent catch and it couldn't have come at a better time.
  14. On Tuesday when Parra started they called up Estrada specifically to piggyback with Parra since he is no longer stretched out. Most would assume that piggybacking scenario would have been the case for tomorrow as well. It is quite possible that Estrada can still pitch tomorrow, but it is just something to ponder based on how the scenario set up. There have been several times this year Macha has needlessly run through pitchers. Granted this time it didn't lead to those guys throwing double digit pitches, but over the course of a season it will and that is how bullpens get burned out. A lot of other managers do it too, I was just pointing it out, especially in light of the Estrada situation.
  15. I think the main move I question is the use of Estrada. He was brought up exclusively as a handcuff for Parra while Parra is stretched out, yet Macha uses him today. I get the thinking behind it being that he pitched very well in Cincy and could keep us in the game, but then Estrada is struggling so now we've had to use three other pitchers today. Over the course of the year moves like that are how the bullpen gets burned out.
  16. So we've run through three pitchers in this inning why? This type of managing is exactly why our bullpen is fried.
  17. I knew things with Weeks were bad, I didn't know it was that bad. Yowza. I don't understand the use of Estrada today unless they figure Axford can give them multiple innings again tomorrow after Parra finishes off 5 innings.
