  1. That was a pretty exciting play. Nice hustle on Go-Go's part forcing the defense to make a play. The Cubs looked like the Brewers with all of the poor defense today. I'll take it though. Series win!
  2. This is comical at this point. Who is the last Brewers pitcher to give up 5 bombs in a game?
  3. Randy Wolf looks like he wants to compete for Braden Looper's dubious HR record from last year.
  4. Hawing, being optimistic I'd say 50/50, but it was probably 55/45 Cubs fans. I'm sure the rain kept a lot of walk up ticket buyers away. Due to the pitching duel the crowd was quiet for the first 7 innings. Now, for a few photos. Keep in mind I was in 424 and wanted to try out my new camera's zoom. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0255.jpg The scoreboard is kinda broken. The entire left side didn't work at all after Roll out the Barrel. They tried, but it continued to fail. Eventually they just had the score including ball/strike/out count on the out of town scoreboard in left field. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0078.jpg Lou (or some guy who kinda looked like Lou with gray hair) chatting up the umps to get the competitive advantage. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0101.jpg http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100B0233.jpg Gallardo, hero number one on this night. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0174.jpg Corey Hart, hero number two. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0180.jpg Gallardo with the bat. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0176.jpg Esco. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/Pics/100_0264.jpg McGehee, the final hero. I took a ton of pictures, but I don't want to spam the thread. Overall, I'm happy with how they turned out. Some are just user error, haha.
  5. This was a fun game to be at. Both Gallardo and Lilly were dealing. I spent most of the first few innings trying out my new camera. As the game got late the "Let's Go Cubbies!" chants started and the scoreboard malfunctioned. I think we should make the entire team watch the little league video regarding how to bunt, because apparently the only guy who can ever bunt is Braun when he bunts for base hits. Clutch hit by McGehee. It was nice to get a win against the Cubs and quiet the Cubs fans.
  6. The main scoreboard is malfunctioning, and the "let's go Cubbies!" chants have started. Please quiet them, Villa.
  7. This is a move which sorely needed to be made based on Suppan's performance. That said, I am glad to see that Suppan handled it with class, as he handled most of his other affairs in Milwaukee. He didn't pitch very well while with us, but all told based on his community work and his willingness to give Milwaukee a chance I at least appreciate that he gave us all he had.
  8. Brewers win in extra innings. How unclassy. Nice job, boys! Enjoy that day off.
  9. Considering that they use the Ultimate Warrior theme for Coffey, I'd really like to see the Brewers use the old WWE Demolition theme music as Axford's entrance music. Let's go, Ax!
  10. Good job hitting with wallop, Corey. Is that fundamental baseball I just saw from the Brewers?
  11. Sounds like Braddock will be coming on in the 9th. Hopefully he has his hiccups behind him.
  12. Villa after pitching two innings yesterday over Hoffman, that shows how much they trust Hoffman right now. lol
  13. Part of me would have chuckled had Rickie dropped that pop up. Nice work again from Loe. Hopefully his arm doesn't burn out a la Estrada, although he has experience as a reliever so hopefully it won't be a problem. Apparently Parra is the first guy in Brewers history to strike out 4 batters in one inning, per Cory.
  14. Cory says the Ax is available tonight, so I guess they figure between Bush, Lowe, and Hoffman they've got enough to get it to Ax if needed.
  15. Alright, now Macha has lost me. Why are we taking out Bush? I was under the impression Macha put in Bush to get a couple innings to bridge to Hoffman (provided Ax may not be available today due to going multiple innings yesterday).
  16. I believe TH mentioned earlier this week Riske's minor league rehab stint is officially over on Wednesday. My understanding is that since he's on the 60-day DL they can activate him whenever they feel like it since the 60-days are now over, provided they've got the 40-man and 25-man roster space to do it. Getting Riske back on the 40 man is as easy as transferring Zaun to the 60-day DL, but I'd be okay with Suppan being DFA, too.
  17. I hate to say this, but tonight I'm all about moral victories. Hopefully Parra pitches long enough we don't have to see Suppan. Considering the most rested options are Braddock, Hoffman, Bush, and Suppan, that'll have to be yeoman's work by Parra and the offense to make it happen. That said, as bad as this game looks on paper, these are the kinds of games we end up winning by 8. Go Brewers!
  18. That's a gut punch. Tomorrow is an ESPN game with it being a bullpen day featuring Manny Parra. I've run out of things to say. lol
  19. Poor execution is more frustrating. Even good hitters make an out 7 of 10 times. To bunt a guy over you're just being asked to make a productive out.
  20. In 18 games Bush is 2-9, 5.43 ERA vs. CHCIn 9 games Bush is 2-6, 6.45 ERA vs. STL For comparison: In 4 games Parra is 0-1, 5.84 ERA vs. CHC In 10 games Parra is 2-1, 2.97 ERA vs. STL If we're just basing this on record, Parra has had most of his success against STL. I'd be more worried about what Capuano's short start tonight plus Parra's likely short start Sunday (on Sunday Night Baseball, no less) will do to our already beleaguered bullpen. I'm guessing Bush will end up piggybacking Parra like Estrada did and then they'll do all hands on deck. After that in regards to the rotation they'll probably slot everyone from there using the day off Monday to start things with Gallardo vs. CHC on Tuesday.
  21. There is some of that, ahem, "good defense" Capuano was talking about that we have up here.
