  1. I don't think it is too early to be demoralized, but instead of abandoning all hope I think it is better that we readjust our expectations for this team. The offense has had its poor days, but the pitching has been terrible and you just can't win with poor pitching. We've only held 4 teams to under less than 3 runs: Arizona, San Diego (in a game we lost), Pittsburgh, and the Dodgers. Left column is runs given up, right column is how many times a team has scored that many runs against us. 0 = 2, both vs. PIT 1 = 3, vs. SD, PIT, ARI 2 = 1, vs. ARI 3 = 4, vs. ARI, LAD, SD, PIT 4 = 1, vs. COL 5 = 5 6 = 3 7 = 6 8 = 4 9 = 4 10+ = 2 It is really hard to win games consistently when your opponents have scored 5 or more runs in 24 of 35 games. Yikes.
  2. Brewers.com has Blanton pitching today, with Hamels vs. Davis tomorrow. I'd be okay with the Phillies changing their mind last minute, though. lol
  3. I mentioned in the chat last night it wouldn't surprise me if we went to 13 pitchers soon considering the state of our pitching. Macha probably wasn't going to use Stern much anyway.
  4. Based on how baggy Victorino's pants are in comparison to Moyer's, you might have a point hawing, lol. 20 years of fine aging will shrink the pants up nicely.
  5. I found that interview dragged a bit. That said, I was quite mesmerized by how much Jayson Werth looks like Edge. I've always thought so, but now with the super beard especially. http://www.iwebie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/edge-survivor-series.jpg
  6. JS Brewers Blog quoted the Fielder HR as being 462 feet.
  7. Holy time warp uniforms batman. I love how the Doorman has his "M" cap to match the uni's. I also love how we're busting out the big lumber versus Moyer.
  8. I agree with that Teatoe993 had to say. Yost is a great fit for a bad team. He's got a great passion for the game and tries to back his players and wants them to be more successful than they really are, sometimes to a fault. With a team of journeymen and young guys that's really not a problem because the main thing you're trying to do is play competitive baseball and get the most out of the guys you have. Where Yost got into trouble with the Brewers is he had players who were obviously better than the guys he kept throwing out there, but he believed in those guys so much (see: Mench, Kevin; Turnbow, Derrick) he didn't want to give up on them.
  9. Yeah hawing, it was eerily empty in the 400 level the last hour of the game. I think that's the first time I ever was able to get out of 400 without standing in line for a while after the game. I too would appreciate a fruit basket, but what I would appreciate more is not being swept today, lol.
  10. For a game in which no official errors have been charged, the Brewers have played terrible defense. Atrocious infield defense tonight. There are seriously less than 2,000 people left at the stadium right now. I am sticking this one out. 9 run rally? LOL.
  11. Watching Davis at the game after 5 innings I pleaded for them to pinch hit for him. His pitch count was still manageable, but you could tell he was losing it as the balls were quickly creeping up on the strikes. Cue the big inning. Granted, the Weeks error hurt, but it was fairly evident Davis was nearing the end of the line. Hanson was dealing tonight, no real way around that. It was just kind of one of those go get 'em next time games.
  12. The fact I still don't know what Joe Inglett's awesome batting music is bothers me. During the drubbing tonight I was tempted to go around asking random people. Dating also bothers me, but that is an entirely related yet separate topic. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. May 8th was my birthday so I went out with my friends. I am probably as drunk as I've ever been, but I still know how to use spell check and I was still able to walk across the street to Oakland Gyros. Does this mean I wasn't drunk enough, or that I am just intelligent? lol.
  14. The Brewers provided a nice birthday present to me tonight, especially with Gerut hitting for the cycle.
  15. Well, I hope the DL stint for Hawkins will help him figure out what is going on with his velocity. It will be nice to have the situational LOOGY back in Stetter.
  16. Trevor Time. Hells Bells on the iTunes. Game in HD. Lets get it done!
  17. This probably will be re-posted by someone over in the Major League forum, but Hawkins is just as confused as we are about his recent performance. A Hawkins quote from the article: I appreciate the candor in Hawkins' answer, but it is concerning to see that not even he knows what is going on. It might be time for a DL stint for him, even though he says he is healthy.
  18. He only gave half of the lead back in the first inning, it is a start. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. That is an awesome paint job. If only that is the AirTran plane I take to NYC in September when I plan to catch a Brewers game there, that would be epic.
  20. Had I known all I had to do was make a snarky comment to get the Brewers to score runs, I'd have done so a long time ago!
  21. Alright, only two more runs then I'll be satisfied for the inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. A bruise and a run, we'll take that. How about we score about 7 more.
