  1. Felipe Lopez is pitching. This is awesome.
  2. Jimenez has the capability to be a great pitcher on any given day. He just has to harness it from start to start. And we go to the 18th in St. Louis. The winner of this game should just be given tomorrow's game too. lol
  3. The Cardinals just made an out at the plate to end the 16th inning. I love this game. lol
  4. In other news, ESPN has officially put the vex on Ubaldo Jimenez by plastering the following news on their front page. Jimenez has a no-hitter through 7 2/3, but he's at 110 pitches. Gonna be tough for him to get it unless they go for broke with his arm.
  5. I was glad to see the game was in HD on FSN. Bucks really didn't have an answer today for Horford or Joe Johnson, although it seemed as though anything the Hawks threw up went in. It was good to see the Bucks close the game late, but they can't match shot for shot with the Hawks.
  6. This Mets-Cardinals game on FOX is turning out to be pretty fun to watch. 0-0 going into the 15th inning. This game is almost 5 hours old. Twice in extra innings LaRussa has refused to use his backup catcher to PH with the bases loaded and a chance to win the game, both times the relief pitcher struck out to end the inning. Cardinals switched Holliday out of the game some time ago so the pitchers spot is now behind Pujols. The Mets just fist pumped after getting out of a second and third, no out jam this last inning though. What a lack of class.
  7. Haudricourt just had a tweet that made me cringe: "Randy Wolf allows 2-run HR by J. Maxwell, keeping alive Brewers' club-record streak of starters allowing HRs in each of the first 11 games." That is a pretty sad record.
  8. We've won in Wolf's two other starts this year, lets make it a third!
  9. To be fair, Guzman is a weaker hitter as a LHB, but pulling Vargas for Hawkins was still silly.
  10. Hawkins is the 8th inning guy. It is the 8th inning after all. I want to put that in blue, but Ken Macha's brain won't let me.
  11. Nice play by Willingham. That guy has made a nice career for himself.
  12. Yost was into player development in the way that he wouldn't quit on a guy and stash him away over a few bad appearances or at bats. Yost had guys he just wanted to succeed and as such he'd keep letting guys go out there and fail, and fail, and fail, until he really had no other recourse. See batting Mench against RHP, lol.
  13. The way Zaun has been going so far he might find a way to hit into a triple play, lol.
  14. We basically went from a guy who was so much about player development that it led to his own demise (Yost), to a guy who seems to be prospect-phobic (Macha). Yay? On a better note, Casey seems to be off to a strong start for the season.
  15. Did Willie Harris lose his jersey? Did it say Natinals again? Kinda weird he's the only one wearing the Jackie Robinson 42 jersey.
  16. Great work for two innings by Villanueva to bridge the gap to Hoffman. Suppan pitched slightly better than I expected he would, which isn't saying much. Considering he threw a lot of balls he didn't hurt himself too badly with walks, which could be encouraging. He Loopered his way to a no decision since the offense put up 5 runs while he was out there. Regardless of the results, I'll take a win any day.
  17. I've been very encouraged by Weeks so far. He is being patient as far as taking his walks and hitting the hittable pitches that pitchers have been giving him. I'm expecting a big season out of Weeks provided he stays healthy.
  18. Inglett, Gerut, Narveson, and Parra are all out of options. Melvin said it was basically between Stetter and Villanueva, but they felt Villa gave them the better opportunity to pitch deeper into games: link.
  19. Villanueva is slightly better against LHB than RHB, but nothing to write home about. Stetter's career splits profile him as being better against LHB but worse than Villanueva against RHB. I wonder if Stetter has more options than Villanueva and that plays into the decision since we already have two left handed pitchers in the bullpen. I've stopped trying to second guess Macha because it can be frustrating to justify his thinking. I quit after he said Braden Looper was one of our best pitchers despite his 5.22 ERA as he had 14 wins since we gave him 5.81 runs per game. Ultimately what I think the team is trying to accomplish is keeping depth. They'd rather keep the guys they have and not end up in a situation where guys like Villanueva are out of options next year.
  20. Unless I was being pranked, I really think George Kottaras was using Biggie's "Going Back to Cali" on Sunday. I checked the Brewers website and they confirm, yes indeed he was: http://milwaukee.brewers....an_forum/atbat_music.jsp I had to chuckle at that one.
  21. Coffey's time from the bullpen was 13.48 tonight. As we're so close to the NFL draft it made me wonder what he'd run for a 40 time.
  22. Avoid the sweep boys! I kind of expected to see Gerut today, but any combination which equals a win is fine with me. I'm running late, but I'll be at the game this evening!
  23. I'll never eat the double stacked chicken parm sandwich at Dave & Busters again. There are better ways to get a $20 game card that don't leave you feeling ill for two days, such as the Philly cheesesteak, which was surprisingly good. That's what I get for being adventurous. I'll never cheer for the Cubs. I don't know if I've ever done it, but if I did it was a gross judgment in error which will never be repeated, lol.
