  1. I am getting on this bandwagon too. I love Prince and I know he will break out, but a 20 million a year plus deal could really cripple team for a long time.
  2. Personally, I still see a lack of discipline at the plate and a lot of first pitch swings. I still predict less than a .750 OPS. I think he has gotten better at not swinging low and away but it isnt necessarily showing in his numbers. He still also struggles mightily in the field. Count me as one that is not sold on him. Now Rickie on the other hand...I'm glad I stuck with him through the hard times when many ripped him on here. I saw potential with him that I do not see with Hart.
  3. No need to talk DFA yet. If this goes on for about 6 starts...then maybe.
  4. What does his brain size have to do with his physical skill set?I need to be more specific with my thoughts. Sorry...
  5. Parra allows two rockets. I was called out for call his brain the size of a Koala's and I still contend that he will never be a good big league pitcher.
  6. I hate WAR. How bout a little PEACE? Perfect Equation-Another Crappy Endpoint for the lovely WAR stat. I respectfully don't think highly of it. I think it is the one Saber stat that we argue about most on this site for reasons that have been quoted many times. Don't want to start that war.
  7. Oops, excuse me, this is not an IGT. It is about Melvin. Melvin has earned his right to stay in my opinion at this point. I think he has done a pretty good job and if he would have had more help in the minors pitching-wise, this team would be in an excellent spot.
  8. This seems completely unnecessary It is an IGT so I was just trying to make a strong message about Parra. I probably should have referred to his baseball IQ instead of painting with such a broad brush. He may be an intelligent guy off the field. I really don't know. If he was any good though, it is hard to imagine why he cannot crack this rotation. I see his stuff so I know he could succeed. But from what everyone has told me, he just has some sort of mental block. I wish him the best but I am not nearly as optimistic as the vast majority of people on BrewerFan about him.
  9. Thanks Joey. Yes, Parra's brain is the size of a Koala Bear's brain. A koala brain is generally the size of a walnut.
  10. Parra has a brain the size of a koala bear. I really don't think he will amount to anything...but I think this team is still pretty good. It is soooo early. I, for one, think Brewers will be in contention on Sept 1st if Hart and Suppan's appearances are kept to a minimum.
  11. I do think Macha has a pretty short leash this year let's say if he gets off to a 20-25 start...
  12. Prince makes that easy play and nobody makes a peep. C'mon guys.
  13. Hawkins is your setup guy. He didn't pitch bad. Counsell batting leadoff there was right move. The bad move was not pinch hitting Edmunds for Hart. Hart is a bad baseball player. So he had a few hits...big deal. When has he EVER done anything in the 9th inning when it counted? Bill Hall II.
  14. He is better than Ron Santo at least...
  15. I agree wholeheartedly. Where is BILLHALLFAN these days? We used to have battles on who would be better-Weeks or Hall. I think I may have been right on that one.
  16. If Rickie keeps doing what he is doing now...they can trade Prince and sign Rickie and get the great prospects that would inevitably for Fielder and be able to add later as well. Yes, this is a long shot, but I believe that paying Prince a dollar over 18 million/year is too much no matter how you spin it.
  17. Molitor was hurt a lot too and enjoyed side sessions of blow in his spare time and turned out ok.
  18. This needs to continue to be a platoon. Hart, quite frankly, is bad. Gerut is Gerut.
  19. Guys, Follow me over the years. I said Hall was garbage after his career season and I got ripped. I said Hart was not worth an extension and and got ripped two years ago. I was wrong drastically about Suppan 3 years ago, but many of us were guilty. I have been backing Rick for the last 4 years and he has struggled massively with injuries and bad baseball quite frankly. However, Rick has grown tremendously and is getting better every at bat. I can remember in 2007 were he needed to go to the minors because he was lost, but give Rick credit. He really has improved drastically. Nobody on this team plays as hard as the Ricker. Can you ever remember him dogging a play? A 4 year 24 million extension would be a bargain. Hall had same contract but I know for a fact that he was not even close to the player Rickie is. Do it Doug...you have the same agent so get it done.
  20. Extending Weeks now would be one of the best moves this franchise has ever made. Could get great price for future All-Star. Mark this and save it!
  21. I'm sorry about your job. I have been there. Good luck finding something. It is slowly getting better.
  22. I'll bet you $50 donation to Rickie Weeks JDF that his OPS will not be .750 with minimum 350 ABs. Remember, it is all about the kids.
  23. Fair, people do pull out DFA far too quickly on here. A bit annoying. As far as Hart goes, I still stand pat. Sub .750 OPS guaranteed. BTW, I never turned on Rick or Bushy. In fact, Rick will prove he is our 3rd best commodity this season at the plate. Bush is what he is...average #4 starter and that is it.
  24. April Fools not the same anymore. A quick Google check and joke becomes an annoyance.
  25. I begged for Bill Hall for three years and got it (basically a DFA minus a couple hundred thousand.) DFA may be a bit strong for Hart (because I'm sure someone thinks he is decent) but I would gladly trade his salary for a bag of balls. Let's see what happens this year TLB and see who is right. Hart is totally lost at the plate and I don't see it coming back. I really see this ending bad sometime later in the year. What do you predict he will do this year?
