  1. According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, the Brewers have contacted the Atlanta Braves about Javier Vazquez. The Braves say he is in the market, but it is speculating that they will ask for either Gamel or Escobar. He would be an upgrade over a couple of our starters and would be signed through next year. But at $11.5 million next year, is this just another Suppan? He is solid and hopefully the Braves will lower their offer and eat some of the salary, but with that contract and one of our "studs" involved I hope Doug does not do this deal. At least he is looking for pitching, if nothing else.
  2. I know it's still early in the season, but I think this series is a very big one. Obviously, it is big with 4 games against the Cubs but I think we can really put the Cubs out of it or they may be able to start a hot streak and overtake the division. If the Brewers are able to get a split or even take 3 of 4 from the Cubs I think it will really get them going and be big blow to the Cubs and they may just start to fade. Everyone, including me, sees that the Cubs have talent and have been waiting for the to put it all together and it has not happened. I think if they are able to sweep the Brewers or themselves take 3 of 4 they may put it together and go on a hot streak for the second half. Obviously it is just a series in early July but I think it may have significant barring on the rest of the season for both teams. I don't have any statistics to back this up, I just remember the A-Ram walk off two years ago and saw what that did. It's just a gut feeling for me... I think the Brewers (and probably Cardinals will stick around with them) can get some breathing room with the rest of the division after this series....as well the Cubs could begin their very hot streak after this series and start to play the baseball we thought they might early in the season.
  3. I know this is REALLY early, but my friend is coming home for three weeks from serving in the Army in Iraq. I want to take him and his girlfriend to the game on July 26th. PM me if anyone is looking to unload 4 tickets to this game. I'll pay whatever, just be reasonable.
  4. Both Chicago pitchers are looking strong so far. 0-0 White Sox and Cubs through 2.5
  5. My point originally is to show how quick Cubs fans are to rip Ryan Braun because he is cocky, but there are people on their own team who are just as cocky
  6. I'm not even talking about the throw in the stands. As the ball comes he catches it over his shoulder and stands there and poses, "Oh look at me, I can catch a routine fly ball..."
  7. Cubs fans always say how "cocky" Ryan Braun is. While yes I agree he has some growing up to do.... at least his reactions are to game winning home runs and such. The way Bradley posed and caught that over his shoulder..... wow, that may have been one of the most arrogant things I have ever seen. Of course you'll never see a Cubs fan admit that.

  9. I approve of this team..... But for real, not a good homestand. Got the Rockies while they were hot but losing 2 of 3 is not acceptable against the White Sox at home. Let's get away from home and get things going!!
  10. I like the Major League reference...I laughed. I'll look into it and see if I can find anything. If anyone knows his contact information let me know.
  11. I was thinking more of Damian Miller as to how to get his information. I know he still lives in West Salem and is a Viterbo (not UW-L) graduate... plus he does not have baseball going on as Vinny Rottino does.
  12. I was thinking the exact same thing. How would you go about getting their contact information and get a hold of them? I don't want to sound like a fan trying to get their autograph...
  13. As you have probably heard, the administration at UW - La Crosse decided to cut the men's tennis and baseball teams last week. Earlier today, the coaches of both of these sports were able to convince the chancellor to reinstate the programs. They must come up with $40,000 (tennis) and $50,000 (baseball) by September 1st. They then must raise another amount of money in order to sustain the programs for years to come. I am a member of the tennis team at La Crosse and we are looking for ideas for fundraising. I know the people on this forum are very good people. I thought this may be a good venue in order to spread the word about this cause. I was wondering if any of the administrators had any ideas to raise some money and maybe both teams can team up with BrewerFan and maybe even the Milwaukee Brewers in order to raise this money. This is going for a good cause and straight to help support the athletes on both teams. Let me know if anyone would be interested in donating any amount of money and I can tell you who to send money too. Thank you for all of your help!
  14. I would take Braun #1, then Mauer because he is a catcher, Morneau, then Prince is a distant fourth. So to answer the question, I would take the Twins duo. But I think Braun is the best player overall. Also, I agree with valpo... Braun and Gamel may be a better debate in a year or two!
  15. Found tickets....thanks!
  16. My first and last visit to the dome will be on Sunday as well... I'll be sitting in section 138. I know of a bunch of friends going to the games this weekend, all Brewer fans, so it should be a good showing!
  17. I'm with brwrsfan... I would be interested in an 8 x 10, but wouldn't know where to get one. Thanks!
  18. I am trying to take my mom and dad out to a game and this game works for all of us. I'm looking for three (3) tickets to this game. PM me if anyone is looking to sell three of their tickets to this game. Thanks!
  19. Now the Reds need to continue to lose and the Brewers will be up 1.5 on everyone in the division!! Can't be out of first place going into Tuesday!!!
  20. and that right there is why billy needs to be in a platoon.... that strikeout was not pretty
  21. I just got a hilarious picture of this in my head, and how amazing and fsunny it would be if this were to happen!
  22. tickets are gone...thanks guys!
  23. I have two extra tickets to tonight (Friday) game against the Cubs. I'm just asking to break even on these tickets so I will be selling them for face value. Each ticket is $22. They are Section 440, Row 11, Seats 7 and 8. First person to PM me gets the tickets. Thanks guys....GO BREWERS! Also, since it's so close I'll post a response on here once they are taken. If no one has taken them before I leave for the game, I'll leave my cell phone number and you can call me to meet at the game and pick them up.
  24. This was not a pretty game by any means, by I'll take a 3-1 road trip against division opponents. Now let's hope the bats stay alive and pitching is solid... 2 out of 3 against the Cubs would be sweet!
  25. I just heard it on ESPN, no specifics right now, was reported by the LA Times and suspension will start tonight.....wow
