Braun and Fielder need to turn around their sub par performance this series right now.

    I love Mike Rivera!

    Ree-dic-U-lus.

Just a leaker through the left side of the infield too.And now he goes 3-0 on DeRosa.
  5. sargennm
Oh man, I thought that was gone when he swung.
  6. sargennm
Well at least it won't be JFE.

Nice job by Johnson to come back and get Fukudome on the FC after a 10-plus pitch at bat.
  8. sargennm
Of course, and they'll probably do it on a couple fluke plays ... or another Jim Freakin Edmonds HR.

7-1 Orioles now. And the Cardinals ... man, I do not get how they are doing it with those guys.

Up by three runs in the ninth with a winning road series in sight? Yost made the right move, regardless of Torres' workload. He can sit tomorrow and rest on the off day on Thursday. I'm not going to say "must-win" but this was a huge game on the start of a 10-game road trip. You've got to put your best reliever in there and have him slam the door. He trip on his way to the door and the resulting breeze caused it to close ... barely. But it counts.

No, no, no, please god no.

All day i was trying not to think about how Torres hasn't blown a save since taking over and how that will have to end at some point. Ugh.

Somewhere a mop top under a Nashville Sounds cap is laughing.

Orioles just scored two on a Luke Scott triple. 2-0 Cards up 5-2 on Detroit.

Chipper is not in the starting lineup. The Crew really has to take advantage of this game and any others he doesn't play in.

I doubt the Brewers would give up LaPorta or Gamel for C.C. The Indians have said they will not allow the team that trades for him to negotiate a contract extension before the trade. If that's the case, in my opinion, the best the Indians can expect is a bunch of second tier prospects, Gwynn, Pena, Hernan, maybe. In the end, I think the Indians will be underwhelmed and satisfied to keep the comp draft picks they get when he walks at the end of the year.

Chipping away? It's 2-2 guys. Come off the ledge.
  18. sargennm
Alright. Let's take the series tomorrow.

I hate to sound all polly-Nedish, but even if the Crew falters on the road. It's still really early. Look at the standing from this time last year: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?date=20070620 Edit: Activated link.

Agreed, I couldn't believe Marmol was the guy who coughed up the game last night. If he is anything less than superhuman that changes the dynamic of that team quite a bit.

Was it John Anderson who said it. He's a Green Bay boy and I seem to remember making inside jokes about Wisconsin sports teams in the past. And by the way, it was kind of funny.
  22. sargennm
    Oh. My. God.
  23. sargennm
That's not a true outcome. I blame Brian Anderson.
  24. sargennm
You guys, seriously, get a grip. His job is to call the game and talk about what's happening. This jinx stuff is silly.
  25. sargennm
What is going on? This is crazy. All we need now is a Ben Sheets pinch hit HR.
