1. Given the magnitude of the situation, a cab or shuttle is more than acceptable.
2. They are probably looking for weapons/firearms. You can't take much time when there are 40,000 people to screen. True. I just cant see someone who is going to do something sinister complying at a checkpoint after being caught. I conceal carry pretty much all the time off duty and I have never forgotten it was on me and had an issue at a checkpoint. I believe it will make some people feel better, but I just think its theatrics.
3. Whats the point if "things like belts" dont set it off?? this just seems like a "feel good" measure and nothing else.
4. It just so happens Monday is day 1 of my 48 hours off. Its supposed to be 82 down here in Phoenix (you're up north if I remember right). I may just have to bring the tv out on to the patio for the day!
5. On, Wisconsin.
6. I suppose for visitors temps in the 80s - low 90s is enticing, but when you live out here and suffer through summer,90s in March is way too soon. Then again when I visit WI and it snows I love it while residents loathe it.
7. Why not a Gofundme account?
8. Maybe im just saying this because I live in AZ, but I wish spring training was in February. Ive been to one game this spring only because its already in the 90s outside and my idea of fun isnt baking in the heat watching a practice game, especially when I can watch it from home on MLBTV.
9. Im going to assume you are viewing through the phones btowser? If you are, I'd highly suggest downloading Tapatalk (its free). Ive been using it to browse Brewerfan for a few years and it runs flawlessly
10. He actually had some pretty good reads in centerfield...better than some Brewers ive seen
11. maybe the Brewers should take a flyer on him
12. Was trying to figure out who it was. It wasnt available on DirecTV (unless in WI) but I couldn't tolerate those announcers to I just turned Robbie U on via MLB At Bat
13. Save it for the NYM/NYY and do it on 9/11 MLB wide. Its gotten a little tiresome on every Sunday game.
14. I'm inclined to say no. There are 7,000 fixed seats + the berm and the Brewers only draw on average 5,200 at Maryvale. God forbid there by a sellout, i'd bet the secondary market is teeming with alternatives. Ive been out here for 13 years now and I think ive maybe seen 1 or 2 sellouts in that time. Simply put, Maryvale doesnt sell out. The Royals and Giants will draw decent crowds but with a plethora of lawn seating you should be fine. Also the larger crowds seem to be the week before you are planning to attend, when spring break is in full swing. The last week of March the crowds start to dwindle
15. Yes Maryvale is ghetto, but as long as you mind your business and leave before dark you'll be fine. Phoenix Police has a pretty visible presence during games as well. Besides, alot of us in AZ conceal carry
16. Millionaires stroking other millionaires egos. 'Merica.
17. I was wondering the same thing. From all I've read it seems like the most people have gotten it down to is 130. I dont think they can comp it like they do with ST
18. $200 is absolutely *insane*. If you have any mechanical knowledge, the older GM cars are really easy to work on. Wiring harness and dash kit should run you about 30 bucks tops and there are tons of install videos on Youtube. I used to do car audio installs (on my own, not professionally) and Id never take a vehicle to Best Buy. The higher end shops might seem intimidating because they carry expensive products, but ive found their install departments to be second to none.
19. No, I would say most of Wisconsin is probably in the same boat as you. Otherwise the Super Bowl is the highest rated TV every year. Americans watch. Whether they care or not is another story but they will watch in droves. I totally agree with you about Media Day. It's just an event so the media can bring attention to themselves and find one or two players every year they can grill about some of the field incident to make the player look bad. I live 7 miles from the Cardinals stadium. Its been nonstop Super Bowl coverage out here for a while. The local news stations have literally been spending their entire newscasts on the events and what A through D lists celebrities are in town. Granted, its a nice break from the constant coverage of shootings and stabbings, but still. What bugs me the most though is how the Shield restricts the use of the phrase Super bowl. Its so lame calling it "the big game" or "Super Sunday" etc. Im glad MLB isnt that stingy.
20. The Diamondbacks have been doing this for a few years..its mostly B list singers/bands such as Trace Adkins, Roger Cline and the Peacemakers, Jessica Simpson as well as The Wiggles.... (yes, those Wiggles). So i wouldn't get too excited about any big names
21. Meanwhile in Western Wisconsin, this is forecasted. ..
