  1. Nice effort by J.J., but you have almost no chance of throwing out Victorino on a play like that. At least Spurling's been looking halfway decent tonight. Edit: For the first 1.1 innings he threw, anyway.
  2. Yikes...Brett Myers' curveball is nasty.
  3. What a girly throw to second by Vargas...and he still almost threw it into CF.
  4. JJ saves the day! Nice job starting the DP, and a great throw by Rickie to get the out at first. Prince did a good job of stretching for the throw, too...good stuff all around.
  5. Chase Utley decides to do a backflip while catching Hall's popup. That has to be the most entertaining infield popup I've seen in awhile.
  6. Ha...CV just made Victorino do a faceplant. Nice footwork.
  7. I don't know...I still have a feeling Eaton throws a 27-inning shutout and the Brewers lose on a walkoff wild pitch by Gabe Gross, because Ned already used each relief pitcher for only one inning.
  8. I just have a bad feeling about this game...seems like one of those games where the opposing pitcher comes in and drops his ERA 3 runs after facing the Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  9. Wes freaking Helms. This is unbelievable. Ned finally goes with a quick hook to Bush, and chances are the Brewers would've been better off with Bushy working through it tonight. That's 8 hits against the bullpen in 2 innings.
  10. Forgive me if this was explained on-air, since I'm watching the game on mute, but why did Ned go with Shouse instead of Turnbow to start the 8th?
  11. Anyone else have bad flashbacks when they saw Hardy trying to beat a throw to home against the Phils?
  12. Prince!! I love how Prince doesn't try to hit everything out when there are RISP...nice job of just doing what he could with that at bat.
  13. What, we couldn't find a picture of Jamie Moyer with his walker? (Of course, now that I said that, he'll strike out the side in the first inning, getting everyone to flail at 65 MPH changeups)
  14. To make matters worse, if I counted correctly, Bad Dave Bush is scheduled to show up tomorrow...blech.
  15. While Dessens' ERA was in the 3's a couple outings ago, that doesn't take into consideration the massive amount of inherited runners he let score once he came into the game. He's like the Bizarro Shouse. I wouldn't mind seeing Homer Me Elmer DFA'd in favor of another middle relief arm, to say the least. Losing a series definitely bites (almost forgot what it felt like), but I can cope with losing a series against the Mets better than I can against the Cubs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif While it's true that the Brewers have to beat teams like the Mets to prove that they're "for real", I think the Brewers showed they could stick around in this series...after all, it wasn't really the Beltrans or the Wrights that beat the Brewers, but guys like Damion Easley and Oliver Perez (who, to be fair, has some wicked stuff when he's on). Hopefully the bats wake up in Philly...that bandbox may be just what some of the struggling bats need to get back into the swing of things.
  16. Someone should tell Oliver Perez that he's not with the Bucs anymore and that he's allowed to shed his "Brewer Killer" status.
  17. Damion freaking Easley...argh. How old is that guy...like 56??
  18. Like others, I'm not too disappointed about the loss tonight. If anything, I'm encouraged by the fact that the team didn't just quit after the 4-run 4th inning. The Mets were just due to start hitting Suppan, anyway...it's just a shame it happened tonight. As for the bad call that kick-started the Mets' 4 run inning, even the announcers on SNY (who are about as biased as the guys on YES and WGN combined) said it was a bad call and that Suppan beat Beltran after looking at the replay. I can't get too upset about it, though...in real time I could see how the ump called Beltran safe, especially since he didn't have a favorable angle on the call.
  19. Geoff!! Quoth the the Nats announcers on MESN: "This team can do no wrong."
  20. CoCo and Villanueva warming up in the pen. Assuming CoCo comes in with a lead; CV the Younger if it's still tied.
  21. Turnbow got hit in the butt with a line drive. Didn't seem to faze him. Looks like this'll be JJ's last at-bat of the game, barring extra innings. Edit: RIP hitting streak.
  22. Gah...dang Nook Logan and his track speed.
