  1. Oh God. Oh no oh no oh no oh no. Not Yo. Hopefully it's just a pulled muscle, but I just had flashbacks to Sheets' injury against the Braves.
  2. Edmonds sure half-assed that one. No excuse for that one to get past him and roll to the wall.
  3. Parra with an excellent AB against Pujols there to get out of the jam. That's the kind of "mental toughness" everyone seems to think he doesn't have.
  4. The Best Fans in Baseball are booing their own players. How classy.
  5. Nice play by Weeks on that ball up the middle. That would be why the club isn't ready to give up on him at 2B. Carpenter's been incredibly wild so far, but only a couple runs to show for it. Hopefully this isn't one of those games where the opposing pitcher is wild early before settling down and throwing a bunch of scoreless innings. It'd be great to chase him in the 3rd with a crooked number.
  6. Yeah, not exactly an intimidating Cardinals lineup tonight with Winn starting instead of Rasmus. This has the feel of a low-scoring game...hopefully Manny can keep his pitch count down early, while Carpenter does the opposite. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Looks like we can forget that Sanchez rumor -- Buster Olney's latest says that's not enough for Fielder (MLB Trade Rumors, since it's Insider-only). Olney says he doesn't see a match at all, with the Giants not willing to give up Matt Cain with Lincecum struggling lately, and Sanchez/Madison Bumgarner wouldn't be enough to get Fielder.
  8. Steve Blake just got 4/$16 million from the Lakers. I remain convinced the entire league is stupid.
  9. From Fanhouse's Ed Price: Link via Twitter. I was kind of surprised to see this earlier today, but I have to say I'm not completely against the idea. Both have been struggling lately, the Brewers are going to need a couple of spots on the roster for Doug Davis and LaTroy Hawkins soon, and there may be a contender out there willing to give up a live arm for bullpen help. Boston's had big problems, and the Yankees are in the same boat.
  10. It almost sounds like they're misinterpreting or building off of the old rumor that the Brewers would get involved in a three-way trade for Lee. Obviously, they wouldn't be the ones getting him in that scenario. If they did get involved, it'd be because they have the bats Jack Z wants in return that no one seems willing or able to give up. Even then, the bats would be required would make me want Michael Pineda and I doubt Jack would trade Lee and Pineda away in the same deal.
  11. Lineups are posted. Rasmus-Pujols-Holliday is an incredibly scary 2-3-4 to me. Wolf surprised me last night, so here's to hoping Narveson pitches well and further complicates the rotation zim-zam. I'm still not confident that Macha will make a good decision, but at least a difficult decision means everyone's playing well.
  12. What a demoralizing loss for the entire country of Ghana. To go from total ecstasy to crushing disappointment to renewed hope to defeat within the span of about 10 minutes is just unreal. I can't think of a similar loss ever happening in any sport...it even dwarfs the Bill Buckner loss.
  13. Apparently, ownership told Byrnes to fire A.J. Hinch. When Byrnes refused, they simply fired them both. I tend to agree with Buster Olney's opinion that Byrnes won't be out of work for very long. He can do some consulting work if he wants to, or he could just wait until the offseason when it looks like quite a few teams might be looking for new GMs. I'm just hoping he doesn't end up with the Cubs.
  14. Yeah, I didn't think for a minute that Hunt was trying to be serious. If anything, he's mocking the fans who complain about Macha never arguing a call. Attributing the recent turnaround to the blow up in Colorado was the dead giveaway to me.
  15. David Aldridge of NBA.com says 5 years, $39 million for Salmons. I really, really don't like giving Salmons 5 years. That's a big commitment for a guy who had a hot 30 games and will be in his age 31 season next year.
  16. Good to see I'm not the only one that at least entertained the idea of a Ray Allen homecoming to finish his career. Unfortunately, I think he's more likely to go to whichever team ends up with LeBron. When everyone was talking about the James/Wade/Bosh triumvirate in Miami, I saw Allen's name mentioned as one of the guys who could be brought in the flesh out the roster. No idea how they'd make that work, though.
  17. The Brewers will be 15-12 in June if they can pull this one out, 14-13 if they can't. While it doesn't look that impressive, it's not bad considering they started June 1-4.
  18. This statement could probably be applied to both his outing today and his slot in the starting rotation. Important to note that if Doug Davis is coming back on normal rest, they share the same schedule right now.
  19. Yeah, I'm not getting anything on Dish Network, either. There's an "Astros at Brewers" listed on one of the FSN alternates but I'm blacked out of it...must be the Houston feed? This is annoying.
  20. I'm wondering how long Prince would've had to stay out there arguing the call before Ken Macha could be bothered to move. Prince came very close to getting ejected there with all the pointing at the ump and the glaring over his shoulder as he walked away. Macha needs to get out there before it gets to that. A little bit Yo not being sharp, a little bit nobody having a clue what the strike zone looks like tonight.
  21. Clearly Chris Capuano is the real ace of this staff. [/postsfrom2005]
  22. Rickie Weeks' BABIP with runners in scoring position heading into tonight was .457. I don't care that it's unsustainable, that's pretty freaking cool.
  23. If I had the Photoshop skills, I'd put Yovani's head on Superman's body. I actually can't wait to see how long that HR was...seems like one of the longest he's hit.
  24. I just came here to post that, too, DJ43. I have no idea what Witrado has against Parra, but the bias is constantly blatant. At least he bothered to gather some quotes from him this time.
  25. According to the New York Post, Chad Jones may decide to play baseball instead, because it would be less stressful on his leg if he makes a full recovery.
