  1. The Cameron decision was reversed...the hit's now being credited to Soriano. Prince continues to crush the Cubs...hopefully Cameron can continue his Cub Killing ways, too. I'm really surprised at how deep the Cubs are playing in the outfield.
  2. I'll second that. Burns pitched much better after the first inning against the Mets once he settled down a bit (and stopped missing his spots against David Wright). Still plenty of ballgame left.
  3. For what it's worth, Derrek Lee's probably the most All-Star worthy Cub, but got caught up in the numbers game when it comes to NL first basemen. I think he would've had a better chance if this year's game was in an AL park and they could add another first baseman, even though that would bring the total up to 5.
  4. http://www.gifflix.com/files/dd1f5e608745.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif A split would be very nice, but even a loss today wouldn't be the end of the world if they can turn around and take care of business against St. Louis again.
  5. There's a thread on this at Lambeau Leap. Still not a details available, but I'm sure more will come out over the next day or so.
  6. Fantastic way to ensure they don't get swept, which is all they really needed from this series. Hopefully Burns has another surprisingly good outing tomorrow and the righty-filled offense can tee off against Lilly.
  7. Same old Brewers, unable to bring in the runner in scoring position. Since it's raining and past the 5th, let's just call this one and save the bullpen. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. McGehee's getting about a series' worth of production in this game...it's about time after it seemed like he was playing a bit timid in the first couple games. Only needs a double for the cycle. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. Wasn't expecting a shutout. If Looper can get through 5 with the Brewers still winning by 4 or 5, I'll be pretty happy. Nice to see McGehee make up for another error with a slick start to the double play.
  10. Looks like neither team's outfielders can find a fly ball today...I'll gladly take it. It looked like McGehee was struggling to get to third, though. Hopefully his knee isn't acting up again.
  11. Hopefully the Brewers can get out of town before Soriano starts heating up...I'll gladly take that end to the inning, though. Corey always seems to have trouble at Wrigley. I still remember the game on Fox where he completely missed one and Matt Vasgersian quipped "What in the name of Franklin Stubbs is going on out there??"
  12. Yeah, Hardy would have to go on some kind of tear to finish the year at his career averages. Fangraphs has his adjusted projections now at .246/.315/.404, finishing at 19 HR and 71 RBI. That assumes a line of .265/.329/.451 the rest of the way, and a closer-to-normal .281 BABIP. At this point, I'd take a Weeks-like hot streak, though. Hopefully some of the scorchers he's been hitting lately start to fall soon.
  13. Yeah, I thought the Hart call was a little iffy, too, but like you said it was a 3-1 count on Hart. Even if that was called a strike, there's no guarantee Zambrano doesn't walk him on the next pitch (especially given how Zambrano was pitching that inning). How about letting us win the next two games to make up for it? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/jami3406/cubs2brewers1.jpg Ugh. As frustrating as it was, Macha going out there and arguing wouldn't have done any good. The game's done, and any "fire" he puts into his team is forgotten by the time they hit the field tomorrow. If this happened in the middle of the game and the team had a chance to respond I'd probably agree that he needs to go out and say something. It's a tough loss for sure, but I don't know how this game signifies that this team isn't good enough or that DiFelice needs to be DFA'd. Neither team really deserved to win this game with how many runners were left on base. Two of the three runs in this game were from bases-loaded walks, and the other run was driven in by a pitcher. Baseball's a weird game like that sometimes.
  15. How was that not in the strike zone, considering the other calls he's made all game long?
  16. I'm not one for short, non-descriptive posts but... HOLY FREAKING CRAP THAT WAS AWESOME! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif On to extras...hopefully they can end this relatively quickly, and in a positive way. I'm all for a leadoff HR from Prince, wind be damned. Edit: Fondy, Fuld hit a screamer that looked like a sure base hit, but Hardy was able to make a leaping grab and toss it to second while coming down to complete the double play.
  17. I can't imagine a scenario where either bullpen could hold either side in check for that long.I probably overestimated a bit. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Both sides have had all kinds of trouble getting runs across, though. Hopefully Stetter can get out of this little jam. A double play would be awesome.
  18. This one has the makings of going about 27 innings. Put up another 0 and try again next inning, guys.
  19. I might get a new avatar if a pic of that Bradley play comes out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Two very hard hit outs...what I would give for a momentary shift in the wind right now. Still hoping they can get it to Braun with someone on in this inning.
  21. I'd have to guess Marmol isn't available if this game goes into extras...I believe yesterday was his 4th straight day of work, so we might not even see him tomorrow.
  22. First Cub AB for Jeff Baker coming up against Stetter. My hatred for him will be based solely on the results this AB. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Villa did the smart thing in not giving Bradley anything to hit on 3-2...better to walk him than let him drive in the go ahead run.
  23. It took a perfect throw from Fukudome, and given how this game has done, I think it was a decent enough call to send Suppan. McGehee's really been pressing to perform well against the Cubs, so I don't mind taking the chance with Prince's base hit.
  24. Well, they're only about 6 runs from being in the Top 10 in all of baseball...they were 12th out of 30 coming into today. The Cubs are 26th, so it could be worse.
  25. Looks like Zambrano's starting to settle down, but at least his pitch count is starting to get up there. It didn't look like Hart went around to me, but I'll just assume the ump had a better view.
