  3. Wow, even looking at TH's lineup post from yesterday's blog, he seems visibly disgusted with Yost.
  4. The four games against Washington appear to be sellouts. The first three are slamdunks, and I think only club seats remain for the Monday game. The first two Houston games look good -- not many terrace seats remain. The Wed., 8/20 game is during the afternoon, so I wouldn't be surprised if those tickets are gobbled up quickly. Then there's a weekend set against Pittsburgh, two of which are already selling SRO. There's probably a good chance Labor Day sells out, too, looking at the number of terrace seats remaining. So, the Brewers may sellout every home game until September 2. It's definitely something to keep our eyes on.
  5. The Cubs series, at the least, the worst home series in 25 years. They held a lead for less than a half inning (maybe 15 minutes on Monday?). The total offensive meltdown, the way the starting pitching collapsed, and the maddening presence of the Cubs fans made this series just intolerable. I can't think of a worse 4 days in Brewers history.
  6. Yeah, it's classless, but I can't blame him. I'd have a tough time maintaining my composure after what's happened this week.
  7. First hit w/ runners in RISP all series! Bravo Brewers!
  8. He continually barked at the HP umpire. Pretty obvious what he was saying if you were watching on TV. Hope he doesnt face a suspension.
  9. Meh... woulda prefered one higher and tighter from Gagne. Close to his head, but not hitting it.
  10. They used to do that in AZ for the Cardinal vs Cowboy games. It was the one game a year that would sell out so the Cards made it so if you bought tix to that game you had to buy tix to another game too. The Cardinals are doing it again this year. Their season ticket sales are down, so they're requiring fans to purchase one preseason game in addition to the Dallas game. I still suspect that Cowboy fans will rule the place, though. I'm thinking the Brewers should only sell the Cubs tickets in multi-game packages. I don't think it would really hurt the attendance figures, and I'd expect to see more Brewer fans.
  11. Yeah, I think it's pretty classless on Kim's and ESPN's part. But that's just ESPN being ESPN -- catering to the big market teams. The term "Wrigley North" has always irked me, though.
  12. If we meet the Cubs in the NLCS, will we see this many Cubs fans? That would be unbearable. Would there really be Brewers fans that would sell their playoff tickets to Cubs fans to make a quick buck? Sadly, this could very well happen in 2 1/2 months.
  13. Stop losing, Brewers. Pretty soon we'll need to bust out the pink font.
  14. I hate the term "Cubbies". It's a term of endearment for the Cubs, obviously. I cringe when I hear anyone use that word.
  15. It's not healthy, it's supposed to be fun, and I agree with another poster just a few back who said this series isn't really very much fun. Amen. I have tickets tonight, but I'm dreading it. I feel like it's my duty to attend the game and defend the Brewers. I'd like to hear from Baltimore or Tampa Bay fans. Do the Red Sox fans act the same way when they play in those cities?
  16. Good. I think the quick hook should be standard operating proceedure at these games. Probably, but a lot of the ushers don't know who to target. They're bothered by people who are standing up, the person who questions their authority, or the guy who has a questionable message on his t-shirt, but they're unaware and/or afraid to step into a potential fight. During the Cubs series, I've seen ushers step in the wrong place. Look at the whole purpose of this thread -- the ushers should have told those teens to shut up, but they cowtow to the Cubs fan who was offended by the Fukudome shirt. The ushering staff at MP has always bothered me for those reasons.
  17. Many area companies who are season ticket holders are giving the Cubs tickets to customers/vendors/others in the Chicago area. That's where a good number of Cubs fans are getting the tickets, IMO.
  18. I've never once had an issue with Cardinals fans. I have a high amount of respect for them -- they are a classy, classy organization. And they hate the Cubs as much (or more) as we do. The Cubs fans are simply overcompensating for their insecurities. Add the fact that they are popular bandwagon team, and you find a bunch of drunken, unintelligent dolts coming to Miller Park. By the way, out of curiosity, did anybody at the game hear any Cubs fans saying: "At least we have fans at our games" OR "You need all of us Cubs fans to fill your home park"
  19. I don't think you should pin this on all Brewer fans in attendance tonight. This obviously was an isolated incident -- those kids are idiots. Everytime I attend a Cubs game at Miller Park, I feel like I have to defend myself as a Brewer fan. I was pretty ticked off hearing about how MP is "Wrigley North", seeing those stupid "W" flags, and hearing "Lets go Cubbies" chants outside the park after the game. Get this...one Cubs fans was wearing a shirt that said: "Sausage races don't win pennants." That was an absolute joke! The Cubs fans are the LAST people who should be wearing that shirt. That said, I just feel an intense amount of disrespect from the CHC fans.
  20. Just got home from the game: -The Cubs fans are more insufferable than ever. Section 234 was mooned by a drunk chick (obviously a Cubs fan). There was a middle aged Cubs fan proudly displaying a "Wrigley North" sign. He also implicated a Brewers fan wearing a shirt that used Fukudome's name to display a derogatory message about the Cubs. That pissed me off. I had a few choice words with him after the game. -I really don't believe there is a less classier fanbase than that of the Cubs in all of sports. Their sense of entitlement and lack of respect for somebody else's stomping ground is stunning. Guys, we can't continue to sell tickets to these people. -Being in the bleachers, it was almost as if I saw the Weeks play in slow-motion. It was SO off-line...disgusting. -Despite all my griping, it was a tremendous baseball game.
  21. Sabathia and Sheets are pitching the next two games. Considering Sabathia has pitched three consecutive complete games, I'd have a fair amount of confidence that the bullpen won't be overworked tomorrow. Plus, Yost would have used McClung, who is well rested. Suppan was not pitching well enough at a critical juncture of the game -- the bleeding should have been stopped before the game got out of hand. Yes, Suppan hasn't come close to earning his salary, but it's Yost primary responsibility to put his players in the best position to win. A playoff berth will come down to a game or two -- we can't afford to lose games just because Jeff Suppan makes a lot of money, so therefore we can't pull him.
