  1. Who had September 1? Seriously, though. This makes me really nervous. We know the Ben Sheets injury cycle -- I think somebody posted the 5-day "routine" back in April when his spot was skipped.
  2. Did Hart just miss a HR there? On the gameday tracker it looks like the ball was right on the wall. No. It was fairly deep, but not close to the warning track.
  3. Daniel Murphy is having one of the worst first innings ever. How embarassing.
  4. Take a good look at the Mets. If things go as they should, we'll see them again a month from this afternoon.
  5. The Brewers have 13 games remaining against San Diego, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. 9 of those games are at home. I think that balances out any advantage PHI and NYM may hold.
  6. If anyone read the AP report, the reporter allegedly polled 8 reporters from Milwaukee and Pittsburgh who have covered MLB for 10+ years. 6/8 believed the scorer made the correct call. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=280831123
  7. Oh man, this is exciting! If we clinch, what day do we clinch? What do we clinch? NYM (1-2) SD (4-0) CIN (2-1) @PHI (1-3) @CHC (1-2) @CIN (2-1) PIT (3-0) ... 14-1 on the season! CHC (2-1) 16-10, 96-66 Brewers clinch playoff berth on Wednesday, September 24
  8. They should that call was a joke Yeah, they should, but we've seen the way MLB treats their umpires. Those guys can instigate fights like no other, but still face no consequences. Of course the Mike Winters incident was an exception, but IMO, the punishment was light (a one-week suspension?). However, I do believe that the scorer will lose his job. A no-hitter, especially by a high profile player like CC would have garnered much press.
  9. Tickets are always being sold above face value in the resale zone. Wait until the playoffs -- it's not like scalpers would be selling tickets at face value. I think it's unrealistic to think otherwise.
  10. I have a strong suspicion that MLB will uphold the call. I doubt they're going to embarass one of their employees
  11. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest pitching performances in team history. 80 wins before September 1 is extraordinary http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. I love how the camera pans to the scorer after Hart makes the catch. The crowd chants: "change the score!"
  13. I'm pretty upset about the hit call. The TV and radio guys agree that it was an error. I'd expect the official scorer to be roasted on BBTN tonight (whatever that's worth).
  14. With one month to go Magic number twenty-five Keep losing Cardinals
  15. Better than ice cream Playing the Pittsburgh Pirates Is the perfect treat
  16. Oh no no way no! I forgot about the game What a nice surprise
  17. It's the third year, actually. In 2006, there were 7 games in Milwaukee and 9 games in Chicago. This certainly should be balanced next season -- maybe 3 or 4 more games at Miller Park. It's not exactly fair to the Brewers.
  18. I've been a fan since I can remember. I love this team and I've never given up on them -- although there have been times where I've felt apathetic and/or disgusted. I get irritated when relative newcomers and/or casual fans inquire about my playoff tickets. The answer is NO. I feel like I deserve to go because I've persevered through everything -- I view it as a reward for my suffering.
  19. It's all about the size of the metro areas. For example, Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida, but is a distant third in terms of total size and relevance. Milwaukee ranks as the 38th largest US metro area: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...politan_Statistical_Areas We'll see how the Pirates and Royals do when their teams are finally good. I expect good things from them -- they're good football fans who love their city. I wouldn't expect any change when their teams stop sucking. Minnesota's sports fanbases, sans the Wild, are generally unimpressive. I think Milwaukee fans have done a great job.
  20. This has always baffled me. The Buccaneers haven't failed to sellout since they built their new stadium in the late 90s. At one point, the Lightning sold out season after season (an impressive feat -- considering there are 41 home dates in the NHL and the general popularity of hockey in Florida). It's the same way in Miami -- the Dolphins and Heat haven't had problems selling out lately. I don't really have a guess as to why. Could it be the condition of the ballpark? Or is it because Tropicana Field is in a weird part of town? Unimpressive to say the least. You have to wonder if the park will be dominated by road team fans during the postseason. It could be quite ugly and embarassing for the Rays.
  21. I'm really astounded by the Cardinals. I used to think that they were the epitome of class -- fans, media, players all alike. Now, the Brewers have their number this season, and they can't seem to accept it. They are whining about everything! I believe Carlos's actions were misconstrued by Pujols -- I'd be pretty pumped if I worked my way out of the jam he was in. Have they noticed the way Pujols watches his homers? Plus, the Ron Artest comparison is RIDICULOUS. The Brewers haven't been in any brawls, haven't been controversial in any aspect (except the Cardinals don't care for the untucking the shirts). Ron Artest assaulted fans during a game! He was pretty close to being suspended by the NBA for life! We'd pretty much destroy TH if he wrote anything like that.
  22. Hey Harley riders....please practice some courtesy and not rev your engines when I'm trying to get to bed. Thanks!
  23. Can't really get more than 6 games back if we want to win the division. Hopefully the Phillies can win 3 out of 4 this weekend in Wrigley and we can win 2 out of 3 in Pittsburg. You're really rolling the dice -- getting the division is going to be extremely difficult. The Brewers are 6 GB and the Cubs are a very, very good baseball team. Personally, I want the Cubs to destroy the Phillies. I want to maximize my chances with my safest bet.
