  1. And the unquestioned early leader in the Whipping Boy race is . . . .
  2. Dave Bush was one of those guys who you'd root for and who could be really good and then he'd just flip those frisbees up there and take your soul. It was almost like a viewer at home could see the homer coming even before the hitter could.
  3. It sure seems like for the last three days most of the Brewers hard-hit balls are right at somebody and everything finds a landing spot for the Rocks not matter how hard it's hit.
  4. For now I'm just telling myself it's the Rockies. Not that the Rockies are worldbeaters, but they seem to do this regularly to the Crew.
  5. Yu perfect thru 8. Brewers not. FYI: There is a free live look-in on teh home page of mlb.com if you want to watch the 9th.
  6. Somebody in the entry-level operations research course at UW should do a queueing model of this situation for their class project.
  7. Am I just forgetting something, or has Marco changed his routine? Looks like he's picking up something really heavy and trying not to hurt himself.
  8. I'd love to see push come to shove (without Braun being involved) and watch an MLB franchise put a dubiously suspended player on the field and see how MLB would enforce their suspension.
  9. This may not be a great day for the Brewers, but it is without question a great day for brewerfan.net.
  10. I honsetly don't have any reaction right now, but in its entirety this offseason/preseason has prompted me to nominate the following as the 2013 team slogan: Brewers 2013: We'll see, I guess.
  11. Not to take this too far afield, but there is a good deal of tension between your first and last sentences. If there is a 'loser pays' rule and MLB has any chance at all of winning their case, Biogenesis would be almost forced to knuckle under lest they lose both the case and the fortune in legal fees that they'd owe MLB.
  12. The multi-million dollar question: What constitutes "evidence" in a system that doesn't recognize that an accused has the right to fully confront witnesses against him?
  13. The fact that we're talking about 'arbitrators' in what has become a specifically targeted investigation seeking to punish individuals is Exhibit A in the case against the entire system.
  14. What in the heck is MLB doing TARGETING anyone? The PED "justice system" (and I use that term very, very lightly; kangaroo court is much more appropriate) is not set up for any kind of truly adversarial proceeding. MLBPA, if it has any stones at all, needs to be doing a lot to quash this kind of thing. Hopefully behind the scenes so they don't get gutted as "aiding and abetting cheats". I really wish I had the time to fully express how disgusted I am with all of this. And don't get me wrong, I'm disgusted with the players in general, too. But saying that is a far cry from singling out individuals for scapegoating. The whole thing is a train wreck at this point and the people who should have been most responsible from the start at policing this messed it up from Day 1. Here's a tip to US sports organizations: when you're taking your lead on any policy from the incredibly corrupt alphabet-soup world of international sports organizations, you're doing it wrong. We can be better.
