  1. I don't know if Hart can beat Marte to first with this shift. I'm not really kidding too much, either.
  2. Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Two can play at that game, and it's less annoying with no sound.
  3. Paid or turnstile? I'm guessing the former. I wonder how many people are actully in the building right now.
  4. Ueck said the same thing earlier, I think way back in the first, so the numbers are probably correct, adjusted for tonight's deluge.
  5. I don't care if they Brewer fans or not (and there's a decent chance they are): Somebody please go and beat the "WOOO" noisemakers unconscious. Thank you.
  6. agreed, however, it happened, it's out there, and it could be the sole reason he doesn't win the award. what a bummer. Yep, fully agreed with both of your comments. Just highlighting how much of a bummer it is.
  7. If not for someone with a complete lack of personal and professional integrity deliberately choosing to smear him, there is no "scandal".
  8. I actually feel just a little bad for Barajas at this point. In his defense he's had to be quick with the grab and tag to make either of those plays at the plate.
  9. Weeks probably should have just taken one there. He had the play right in front of him. Hard to fault the guy for believing in his ability to make the play, though.
  10. Yeah, I was just gonna post that this is reminiscent of the reason that some kid's leagues don't allow steals.
  11. I wouldn't mind seeing the Pirates and Cubs start play tonight around 9:30 Central time.
  12. The Brewers have had the second most save opportunities in the NL this season and are second to last in save percentage. Just a league-average performance in save percentage would have yielded 7 more victories. Remove 14 RS off the Brewer ledger and recompute their Pythag for 701/646/142. That projects to expected wins of 76, a gain of 4 from actual. Those 14 RS, if strategically removed at the tail end of 7 games (2 runs each to turn a L to a W) in terms of boosting the save percentage to league average, adds 7 W's to the Brewer record. What does it all mean? I don't know, but I think it's fair to say that, at only two games back, even a modest increase in bullpen efficiency would have the Brewers in the lead in the WC race with a small margin.
  13. I have both ESPN and MLB Gamecasts of the STL/LAD games on. Apparently the strike zone is horrific.
  14. Exactly right. For most intents and purposes, this IS playoff baseball, which is more than any of us could have asked for as little as 3 weeks ago.
  15. Not to kill the general euphoria, but I just can't get over the fact that the Brewers are second in save opportunities in the NL and second to last in save percentage. Just being at the NL average puts 7 more wins on the ledger and has the Crew up by at least 5 for the second WC.
  16. And the Dodgers have tied the Cards at 2. Even though they're even, have to cheer for the Dodgers at this point, if only on principle.
  17. Hey, Mr. Optimism. It's only 2 back in the loss column. ;-) If somebody had told me three weeks ago that I'd be more excited about watching the Brewers on September 15 than Badger football, I'd have called the white coats to have him checked out. Pretty good chance the Reds will have clinched the division just before the Crew goes to Cinci. That wouldn't bother me at all, mostly because it also means that they'd have put a couple losses on the Dodgers. Just gotta keep winning.
  18. Tip the cap there. So close to being really dangerous.
  19. There are only 3 teams with worse NL road records than teh Brewers. Rockies, Cubs and Astros. They're seemingly on a roll right now, but their road futility to date would only underscore any accomplishments they can muster. I'm just hanging on to the old "one at a time" cliche and watching every day.
  20. I'd get excited, but I know none of this is really happening because all I've heard about in the national media is the Phillies.
  21. I heard A-Ram speak in any meaningful way for the first time earlier this season as well and I was impressed with what he had to say and how he said it. As you say, it instantly made him more likeable. Meanwhile, in a score possible of interest: STL 2 SD 5 Bot5
