  1. I don't think you'll know. As noted above, the media outlets have been instructed not to televise any walkout activity, no matter how minor.
  2. Not only for the rubber match. Using up their bullpen could be a gift that keeps on giving until the AS break, even if (god forbid) the Cubs win on Sunday. If losing Friday produces 2 Cubs losses next week because their pen is spent, it's the ultimate silver lining.
  3. I think Jenkins is still with the Crew this seasonbecause it became readily apparent in the offseason that his contract was almost a value, given the fact that there was no cheap and ready replacement for him within the system. I'm with RLuz. Don't know why people are all hot and bothered to do something/anything at the deadline. I'm usually dead set against trading starters for relievers, and I don't really see how the Crew comes out ahead in picking up any of the availabe 'pen arms out there if they have to give up anybody better than Zack Jackson to get it done. The only exception to this might be Linebrink, but I don't think he's going to be available, at least not for Milwaukee. Otherwise, there are still lots of arm options within the system. The team has things go the right direction, and it appears that chemistry is one of the big strengths of the clubhouse. Tinkering at the margins isn't going to make the team hugely better, but it could screw up chemistry in the clubhouse. This team is pretty young. While they seem astute and mature, they don't yet seem hardened or jaded, either. Just let them keep thinking about playing ball, and don't make them wonder about who may or may not be with the team in two weeks. Next thing you know, if Jenks is gone guys might start thinking about things like 'fairness' and 'loyalty'. If they're having fun. let them have fun and play the games. Seems to be working so far. Plenty of time for busines in the offseason.
  4. Nice work, DT. Do have to note in his defense that he really does seem to have to face the tougher hitters a lot more that Cordero does.
  5. Turnbow. Top of the order. What could possibly go wrong?
  6. My problem with the Silver Lining thread is that the name itself implies an overall atmosphere of gloom as being the norm. While this may have been warranted over the past 20 years, it is no longer a good mindset for Brewer fans. Thus, my earlier call for an Irrational Exhuberance thread, which would balance the what this tread which is all too often an Irrational Despair thread. Sure, it's just semantics, but it's no more silly than some of the other gripes in this thread.
  7. Holy cow. Even Bat Boy is growing a beard.
  8. Ok, had the PIP going all afternoon. The goal by the US to beat Mexico in the Gold Cup was spectacular, and Corey's HR was even better.
  9. The Brewers must really believe Yo will be an ace. They're already giving him the Sheets treatment in terms of lineup, run support and bullpen "help".
  10. "Not exactly in the breadbasket" is going to become a new catch phrase. Lots of times when those come straight up like that the protective gears is of limited utility.
  11. My biggest current complaint is that there is not an "Official Irrational Exhuberance Thread" to offset/compliment the Official Vent Thread.
  12. Nice job DT. The first half of the half-inning was terrible though, and Morneau got himself out with Turnbow only throwing 2 strikes. Then Hunter out-thought himself on that third strike, which was a very nice pitch. (I figured Turnbow was going to try to spike a slider there, and I think Hunter did too.) After that DT looked to be in control and his sliders, whenb he finally broke 'em out, were very nice.
  13. Given what has happened at teh Dome the last two years, I'm nervous about Turnbow in teh 8th with Morneau and Hunter due up. Of course, he won't be starting his second inning of work like he has in those past years, either
  14. Bush has pitched well, but he only gets one runner this inning if I'm managing. Too many wierd things can happen in that damned baggie dome.
  15. Let's say a littel prayer for Bush here and get him through this inning. THings should be looking up if that happens.
  16. Two Tigers made the Web gems and not Ryan Braun? I'm outraged. Flabbergasted even. All it takes is one good day to change the direction of the vent.
  17. Death, taxes . . . . Rarely having any room for error due to the scoring situation doesn't help matters much, but you simply can't fall behind in teh count like that. Of course, on Sautrday Coco was ahead in the count on every hitter, and that didn't matter much either.
  18. How many times in the history of major league baseball has a pitcher been releived to be scheduled to face the top of the order while take a no-hitter into the 9th?
  19. Does anyone know where I could look up how many guys have had either their career hig hor seaon high in Ks against the Crew this season? Starting with Perez at Shea, it seems like a minimum of one guy a week is posting that accomplishment.
  20. Burgleflikle!
  21. After the Brewers pounded the Mets on Saturday, I was out at the mall and bought a brand new Brewer hat. Don't know why, as the old one was just fine. I think this recent run of misfortune all has something to do with that, so I accept total responsibility. Having made this public apology, I expect things to turn around. If they don't, however, do I burn the new hat and make up with the old one? Maybe buy it some jewelry?
  22. Night in the ruts. The karma of the whole situation just called for that to happen. I'm sort of thankful that there is no TV tomorrow. I can use the time off until Tuesday.
  23. i've got a feeling we need at least 1 here. All confidence in Coco, but I don't want anything left to chance.
  24. Beeny is dealing, but if he hadn't gotten out of that I think various WI jusridictions would have had to start posting squad cars on bridges and overpasses.
  25. The chicks sitting behind DM tonight have that urban Texas look. Very blonde, not especially slim. On a baseball note, how many guys have put up their single-game/career strikeout records against teh Crew this season?
