  1. I can live with what RR did there. Gave him one batter, didn't get it done, then brought in the right guy. In a game like this I'm not so sure that you necessarily want to use up all you prime BP arms right away if you have any thought that you might be able to steal an out or two.
  2. Pretty sure I saw Green getting loose behind RR as Greinke's spot came up. Would be interesting to see how it played out in a different quantum universe.
  3. You know, I'm so locked in to this half inning I couldn't give you an answer if I tried.
  4. Things are setting up to start a sports war between Wisconsin and Michigan: Packers and Lions will meet at least twice, starting on Thanksgiving in Detroit, with the division lead on the line. The football Badgers play a night game at Michigan St on October 22 There is an excellent chance the Badgers and Wolverines (or maybe the Spartans) will face off at the inaugural Big Ten Conference Championship Game Badger hockey starts the season with series against N Michigan and Michigan Tech. A Brewers-Tigers World Series is the only missing piece to this puzzle, and the can only happen if the Brewers beat the Cards, so Brewers in 6.
  5. I expect the roster to be the same. If there was any issue for the NLDS I thought it was as to whether the pitcher count should be 10 or 11, not whether the there needed to be a decision between Green and Wilson. In a 7 game series I think there is more justification for carrying both Narveson and Estrada, but it might be worth considering dropping one of them and carrying another bat/infield replacement.
  6. I posted earlier this season that if Prince signs with the Cubs he will be dead to me. That said, I don 't doubt for one second how invested he is in this moment and how much he loves where he is, right here, right now. The whole Monopoly money aspect of sports right now just makes it so hard on fans and on players as well in some ways (that require no sympathy at all). Half of the time I think "What the hell is the difference between 8 million and 10 million"? Then I realize, it's 2 MILLION dollars. I like to think, with such an offer on the table in front of me, I would handle myself in a way that the world in general would just say "Wow! He handled that perfectly!" but I know the truth is that I have no idea how I would handle it. I guess all you can do is rely on yourself, and then rely on those you surround yourself with to help you out. To me that's all a discussion for another time, and it's a discussion worth having. Right now, I'm just happy to have Prince living in the moment, crying his eyes out after a game like last night and trying his best to make himself and everyone connected to the Brewers as happy as they can be with what's left of this season.
  7. Prince's emotion had nothing to do with the "last game" thing. It had everything to do with seeing a season slip away and then having it drawn back from the brink. It was about as pure emotion as there can be in sport. At the end of the game, he was just spent. Don't see any reason to be cynical about a guy living in a moment that may never come his way again, no matter what he does after this season. And even if he has multiple postseason runs after this one, it won't be the same as this, with this group of guys, under these circumstances. It might be better, it might be worse, but it won't be the same.
  8. Kirk Gibson brought up Lucroy yesterday in his post-game presser, specifically with regard to the ball he blocked while almost standing up, but you could tell he really appreciated the effort from his spot in the opposing dugout.
  9. Pause the Morgan video at the 2:13 mark. You could see it live if you were watching close, but Prince is sitting there just drained and crying tears of relief.

  11. I'll just be happy if Rafael Furcal doesn't hit a homer again.
  12. Steel Cage Death Match.
  13. Just rewatching the immediate aftermath of the hit. Is that Wolf that tackles Morgan out on the mound?

  15. Context?! What am I missing? Doug was interviewed in the clubhouse on FSN. My wife thought he was having a heart attack too.

  17. M only wish is that if STL comes to town there is zero consistency with the roof decisions.
  18. I'm fairly certain that you can change the 25 from one series to the next, but I don't have a rules citation or link.
  19. Thanks all for clarification on start time. I thought I had seen earlier that the NLCS would be night.
