  1. Has Cook historically had good numbers against the Brewers? Without looking I think he has.
  2. Good win. Just as in Minnesota the entire thing is clouded by what appears to be a significant problem for Braun.
  3. Debby Downer says: Last time Braun got hurt we had the same sort of outcome. Then Braun was gone for 8 games and still came back too early.
  4. Seriously. An ump willing to consistently (and accurately) call a high strike? An we have to put up with Joe West and some of these other clowns?
  5. If KRod can go 2, what difference does it make whether the Brewers score or not?
  6. I have no understanding as to why Dillard was brought up if not to be used in that situation.
  7. This guy may well have called the best balls and strikes of any ump all year. He's been consistent, and he's been about as rules compliant as any ump this season.
  8. I actually thought Hart was out. The still photo seems to confirm it, but it's a tough play and the ump called what he thought rather than simply anticipating the call. I give him marks for hat alone. Ianetta was out of line, no matter what the call.
  9. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that he just aggravated the same unealed injury he was playing with. They played him out of desperation (and Braun saying he could play, probably out of his own couarage/fear) and now they will pay the price for much of the rest of the second half. It's the price you pay when your team has no depth.
  10. Great. I posted in the Pujols thread that the Braun injury had a greater chance of being a season changer than the broken arm. I hope I'm wrong about the ultimate result, but I think I was right on the probabilities.
  11. Not hard to see why Rockies fans thought Tulo got cheated when Braun won ROY.
  12. MA needs to publicly announce DM is on the hotseat immediately following the first announcement.
  13. If you had told me 5 years ago that I'd be more interested to watch a Women's World Cup soccer match than a Brewers team battling for first in their division after the All-Star Break, I would have sought to have you committed.
  14. Let's say the Brewers improve greatly and go 14-20 on the road the rest of the season (including tonight). To get to 88 wins they will have to play better at home than their current pace.
  15. I know the error is charged to the catcher, but it's not unreasonable to expect the first basemean to catch that, either. Other than most games in CF, there isn't a plus defender anywhere on the field for Milwaukee. I knew Colorado would score tonight. How the runs are classified doesn't really matter for the most part.
  16. It's easier to laugh than cry. And it's more fun, too. Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade.
  17. I hate road games because the Brewers actually need to improve just to finish 30-51 on the road for the season.
  18. I agree with that line of thinking. The Brewers probably ony have the resources to after one spot from outside the organization without really causing problems for the future. If we've learned anything the past several seasons it's that as long as you aren't horrible you have a shot in the NL Central. No need to destroy the team when a team worse than the one the Brewer have this year wil still have a legitimate shot at winning the division. Get a new SS and let Green play.
