1-2 in Boston isn't terrible. 1-3 in Chicago is. The Crew have lost 4 of their last 6 series. The sweeps of the Cards and Marlins, series in which they won 5 1-run games, kept their record from suffering. They are again, by winning percentage, the worst road team in teh NL. They have a 13 home/6 road stretch in front of them going into the AS break. Then they coume out of the break with a 9-game/10-day west coast trip. Brewers had better find a way to make the homestands pay off big, especially vs the Reds and DBacks. If the organization is truly "all-in" this season, just sneaking into the playoffs isn't good enough. I doubt anyone catches Philly for the top spot, but if the Crew really want to give themselves a fighting chance in the post-season they need to figure out a way to win the division and finish with the second best record in the NL. My gut tells me that that spot is available. My gut also tells me that if the Brewers fail to win the division they probably fail to make the playoffs. No matter how you slice it, that would make this season a disappointment, if not an outright failure.
