  1. Foxtrax had called strike 2 to Votto as a clear ball. Gameday has it as a strike on the corner.
  2. Watching the actual broadcast I haven't really noticed the zone being bad (or at least out of the ordinary). In fact, BA and Rock were earlier talking about how Cooper is considered a pitcher's ump.
  3. Gameday also shows Prince about 50 pounds lighter than his playing weight.
  4. Gameday is off in its locations a bit today. That pitch was much lower than indicated on the display.
  5. I don't like Greinke's fingers that close to a pitch he isn't throwing.
  6. I would have expected Yuni to be on the ohter end of that play.
  7. I think Casey found somebody slower than him. Do catchers count?
  8. I was just looking at JJ's numbers and the Orioles organizational situation in the middle infield earlier today. For all the Yuni bashing here I haven't seen much in the way of constructive brainstorming as to exactly what the Brewers should do about the situation. Counsell is not the answer IMO. Neither is Wilson. That's just exchanging a whipping boy for a guy who isn't a whipping boy, probably netting roughly the same production. There may be some guys out there, but what does the organization have available to go out and get somebody that will be a marked improvement? I think Counsell is probably mostly done. He'll have one or two moments this season that will make everyone happy. What, if anything, he provides in the way of intangible clubhouse benefits is a whole library of debate itself. In the end, this all comes down to the Brewers still having certain constraints within which they have to operate. THey went out and got Greinke and Marcum. They're rolling through the season with Fielder. They signed the big Hart and Weeks deals. Braun is the cornerstone. What else do people really expect them to do, within the bounds of reason, with respect to their infield situation?
  9. Or maybe there is a reason, or lots of reasons, and maybe we just aren't able to quantify it/them or otherwise provide some objective identification of those reasons.
  10. Congratulations, Milwaukee. You're the worst road team in the National League.
  11. Is it just me or has Braun been leading off a whole lot of innings lately?
  12. It's like you don't even have to watch when they're on the road. Yeah, yeah, it's all just a statistical anamoly, right?
  13. Cooper should call basketball games if he's going to anticipate calls like that. If that's a double, this game is now tied.
  14. Provided the Giants hang on to beat the Cards, a win tonight will put the Brewers only 1 game out of first (in the loss column) despite being tied for the worst road record in the National League.
  15. 14 wins would be a good month. Anything more would be a really good month, given the schedule. Just don't beleive a .750 winning percentage at home is sustainable. The good news is that if the Brewers do prove thmeselves this month, they should be in very good position for the important homestand going into the AS break.
  16. If the Astros take down the Cubs this afternoon, the Brewers wll have the worst road record in the National League heading into play tonight. They're going to have to to prove to me that their position in that regard (with a full 25% of the schedule under their belts) is not a fluke. As the stats showed during yesterday's telecast, the pitching has actually been better on the road this season (from an ERA perspective) than it has at Miller Park. Until they put together a complete series on the road, I think it's more than fair to be skeptical. You can play as well as you want; it's results that matter (see, e.g. the Packers being fairly fortunate to make the playoffs despite never trailing by more than a TD the entire season). Other than the really bad road trip in which the Crew was just awful, they have played some decent road baseball at times. They have just found ways to lose. When they start finding ways to win, as they have at home, they'll really have something going. Then they have to continue to prove that their HOME record can be sustained well above .500 also.
  17. Betancourt stinks. If he had any range he would have gotten to that. He may have cost Yo a perfect game.
  18. Would be fun to watch if I could watch it here. Thanks Brewers and WMLW!
  19. Thud. One bad inning for the pitching staff, two outs on the basepaths. If I start drinking now and quit around 5 a.m. the WMLW broadcast may actually be in focus tomorrow.
  20. Give credit where it's due for Kotsay. Now I just hope Gomez doesn't do something stupid.
  21. Did we just enter a time-warp situation? Everything was going great until 10:04 p.m.
  22. If Counsell bats for Betancourt we have even bigger issues with the management. (He had his AB already). Gotta give McClendon some credit. He's been pitching pretty well lately.
