  1. I would bat Lucroy 5 and Casey 6. I'd think long and hard about batting the pitcher 8 and Gomez 9. If not, I think I'd put Gomez 7 and Yuni 8.
  2. Comeback seems very unlikely tonight. Hopefully they can limit the damage to the pen if nothing else.
  3. Stupid stupid stupid by Braun. 49 of 50 umps will toss you for that. Now we get to see Gomez in the 3 hole. Nice.
  4. Can you imagine the uproar here if a Brewer made a play like that? Nice to profit from bad baseball for a change. It's really happened a lot this series, to be honest.
  5. If Hart lets it drop, every guy who comes to the plate is still the tying run. No real harm done. If he thinks he can make the play he should try to make the play.
  6. Looks like that inning was just good old-fashioned hardball from Axford. Throw 95-96 mph strikes and see if the other guys can hit 'em. Glad the Crew won, but from the other side Rocks fans have to be feeling exactly what Crew fans have after so many of Milwaukee's losses. Costly defensive lapse, not working the opposing starter very well late. Helps keep things in perspective when the Crew loses another one like this.
  7. In re: the last two half innings of Colorado ABs: Welcome to our world, Rockies fans. Welcome to our world.
  8. I just regained conciouness after banging my head against my desk in reponse to the Gomez play. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure I'm still thinking more clearly than he is.
  9. 7 Innings, 100 Pitches, 65 strikes, 8 Ks, 1 run. I think this Marcum guy might end up being a good addition to the rotation.
  10. Just to liven this place up, I hope Prince bunts Braunie over to second. Edit: No sooner do I hit "Enter" and Mortensen has to go and mess up my plan.
  11. I don't blame the Brewers for not moving the game up to this afternoon, given the team's schedule the past couple of days. I can tell FOX that since they won't let me watch the Brewers tonight I won't be watching any baseball at all. A lot of good their blackout is doing in this particular market of one.
  12. Seems like it's been about a year since they've won one like that.
  13. Given the "what can go wrong, will" track record the Brewers have compiled this season, I'm shocked Nieves' throw isn't sill rattling around in the left field corner. It's just so typical that it's followed up by that kind of base hit.
  14. OK, I now beleive that the world will in fact end in just over 45 minutes.
  15. This has the look and faint aroma of a long, long game that may end up being won/lost by attrition.
  16. If this is the last game in the history of the franchise, a nice comeback win would be great.
  17. Do we have to wait until June to start the Fielder trade talk? Not serious. Well, maybe I am. I don't know what to make of this team anymore. Greinke and Marcum coming aboard were exciting, but I think they made folks forget about some serious flaws that were easy to forget when you weren't actually watching this team every day.
  18. The Brewers just tear it up offensively at Miller Park. No way that double falls in on the road.
  19. From a fan psychology standpoint, the early season outs at home were compounded by the failures the Brewers exhibited in failing to make the defensive plays necessary to record the same putouts other teams were posting when the Brewers attempted to score. Creates a certain level of frustration causes folks to place blame and draw conclusions based on the limited evidence at hand. That evidence, butressed by fair helping of inexcusably dumb individual player decisions, makes it hard to come to any objective conclusions about strategy.
