  1. OK. Gomez is due. Just a good AB would be an improvement. So long as he doesn't get himself on base and then give it all away.
  2. So does Maybin score on a WP, PB or Catcher's Interference?
  3. The first time through I read this as "or get hit or something" and was even more in favor of it.
  4. So, when Weeks is taking his day off, does Yuni get a 'BF.net free pass day' since he'd have to be in the linup with CC at 2nd? With Braun taking 15 days off will the Brewers score any runs?
  5. At some point, after a 12 pitch inning by the opposition, someone will post without irony about how well the Brewers were working the count.
  6. I know it's been beaten to death, but if Gomez is batting late in the order, whoever is in the 2 hole tonight probably doesn't have 2-out RBI opportunities to begin with.
  7. I for one love these 9:10 starts. Like 'em better mid-summer when sitting outside is a viable option. Let's watch a sweep tomorrow.
  8. Well, this is a pleasant departure from the expected (knocks on wood) . . .
  9. Would two homers be worse than a walk followed a homer?
  10. Ok, now that actually makes some sense. McGehee is slow as molasses. Molasses is looking for an apology. In all seriousness, that inning ended in failure mostly because Casey couldn't do anything with his AB. Great play by Braun wasted.
  11. The thing I worry about with McGehee getting a bunt down ithere iss that it could STILL end up as a double play. other than him ripping it somewhere that fly to center may well have been the best outcome the crew could have hoped for.
  12. If Uribe doesn't make the play earlier, does that make Gomez's night any better? Not saying that it changes anything about where he should be in the order, but as others have noted, it probably reflects more on RR than it does on Gomez. From one standpoint, I don't know that Gomez in the 2 hole (for now) is any worse than Gomez anywhere else in the lineup. He's gonna be a problem no matter where he is, and it would be hard to put him anywhere but 7 or 8. You sure don't wan't him at 8, so that means he really probably has to be at 7. He's probably better at 7 than 2, but I don't know what the marginal difference is (for now).
  13. RR went to the charts to check the matchup. Has anyone seen anyone just keep those things on an iPad or similar device? Would that even be allowed?
  14. Was kinda waiting for his old standby: "Couple of grand slammers and we're right back in this one." 8 more walks would help us along.
  15. Would have been nice to have gotten at least one more in the inning where Hart and Lucroy ran us out of an even bigger inning. No guarantee what would have happened after that, but still sticks in my craw how badly this team just gives things away at times.
  16. Dear God. Take last week's Brewers road trip hitting display and extend it to cover the entire season. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2011 San Diego Padres.
  17. How the heck was the second pitch a strike? Perfect example of a single BS ball/strike call potentially messing up an entire inning.
  18. If Greinke is perfect through 8 tomorrow, I give the Crew about a 75% chance of posting a victory.
  19. Macha may have been out of touch with his clubhouse, but as far as managers go his decisions on the diamond were very good. That's exactly the point. There is more to leadership than just making good decisions. With the right group, Macha would be fine. I think it's clear that Milwaukee's group simply wasn't the right roster for Macha. There seems to be something not yet fully mature with the makeup of this team from more than just a skills perspective. In a way I don't know that making the playoffs a couple of years ago was a 100% good thing for the group of guys that is still here from that team.
  20. Macha: Exhibit A in making the case that "chemistry" does matter, which is fairly ironic given the Beane connection.
  21. I honestly thought Garcia could have thrown a no-hitter by simply not throwing strikes.
