  1. Not if he's sitting around 70 pitches after 7 like last night.
  2. When they play the same 3 or 4 over and over and over... no it's not wrong. The real question is, "Is your chicken kickin'?" I especially enjoy hating that one, and making chicken noises right along with it, much to the annoyment of anyone around me.
  3. I'm actually wearing that shirt right now.
  4. If you put Brad's current numbers into the Minor League Equivalency Calculator at Minor League Splits, it comes up with .263/.348/.406. I'm not sure if Joe did the same, but it's not like he just pulled the numbers out of nowhere. I like Brad and think he could eventually outperform those numbers (especially the slugging) in the majors, but, if I saw Brad starting regularly at first next year, I would expect us to have a ridiculous starting rotation to offset the offensive downgrade. Sheets (resigned with the money saved from not having to pay Prince in arbitration, and the loss of Gagne, Cameron, etc) Gallardo Young Stud brought back in a Prince trade Parra Suppan/Bush/McClung/Villanueva
  5. Any insight as to why DiFelice left after two scoreless innings?
  6. There are definitely plenty of quality arms, it's just that for the first time in a long while, nobody's really putting up Yovani type numbers. Maybe we were all just spoiled with Yo, Manny, and the like the last few years. Right now I'd probably say Anundsen, but my guess (and hope) is that Jeffress will lower his ERA down to the mid 3's or so by years end and steal the award.
  7. Are you going to start a Thanks Matt, Zach, Rob, and PTBNL thread?
  8. Likely something similar to what we gave up for Linebrink. If Linebrink took Inman, Garrison, and Thatcher.... Anundsen, Seidel, Ramlow?
  9. Not to speak for agent39, but I think his denials of Brantley or Cain being in the deal came before he realized a higher-tier prospect would likely be named as the PTBNL. He still may have some knowledge he hasn't or can't share about who the PTBNL is, but in one of his earlier comments he thought it was a foregone conclusion that the 4th player would be a lesser prospect, likely from the 2007 draft, and he has since backed off on that stance.
  10. Just to add more speculation to the raging bonfire, Caleb Gindl was pinch-hit for in the 7th in WV. To be fair, it was 16-1 West Virginia at the time and Caleb was 0-4 with 2K's, but still, never know.
  11. So, projecting to next year, our catching will look like this: MLB -- Kendall AAA -- Salome AA -- Lucroy A+ -- Fryer A -- Zarraga R+ -- Lawrie And that doesn't include Palmisano or Rottino. Starting to look really solid!
  12. Jeffress enter the game in the 4th and immediately strikes out the side! Also, it looks like the Stosh is making his debut for the AZL Brewers. (Against a rehabbing Rich Hill)
  13. If Willie Randolph can be fired at 3 a.m., I think anything can happen at anytime in baseball. I'm getting close to calling it a night though, and, much like Christmas Eve, I hope to awake to some really nice presents (CC) and not too many pairs of socks (losing more than LaPorta plus a lower level prospect or two).
  14. Gillespie with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th!
  15. Does anyone know if Errecart left the Huntsville game due to an injury? All this CC trade rumoring has me jumping at every little thing. Also, very nice outing for Chris Narveson tonight. 6IP, 2ER, 5H, 0BB, 5K. Much more like the Narvy we saw in spring.
  16. To be fair, if all three of those players are all-stars, we'll still have the 2 we don't trade to The Cleve, won't we?
  17. Finally a nice outing for Mike Jones: 3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K Good to see. Of course, it was preceded by Derek Miller giving up 5 in the first, but still. This is Huntsville. They can come back.
  18. Every player wants to play every game though. I'm sure Jason will tell Ned he can catch every single day, and yes I know he's caught 150 games in a number of seasons. I'm sure he'll catch over 115 this year, which I'm pretty sure is where his vesting option for next year kicks in, but he's not getting any younger, and keeping him and his surprisingly good defense as fresh as possible is in the best interest of both Jason and the team.
  19. Patrick Ryan finally gave up a run in the Huntsville loss as well. CUT HIM!!!
  20. Add Joe Bateman to that list. He's the AA version of Steve Bray; good numbers, but for whatever reason has never been called up to the next level.
  21. Have you seen how AA Huntsville is doing this year? I wish we were playing half as well as they were.
  22. That's the move I was hoping for. I was a little afraid they would keep Nunez over one of the younger kids because of his major league experience.
  23. I can at least post links to the box scores. All times Central. Nashville: 2:00, RHP Richie Gardner (3-1, 4.50) http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_05_18_nozaaa_nasaaa_1 Huntsville: 2:05, LHP Brae Wright (1-4, 4.17) http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_05_18_cmcaax_hunaax_1 Brevard County: 5:00, RHP Josh Butler (0-4, 4.74) http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_05_18_sarafa_breafa_1 West Virginia: 12:05, RHP Amaury Rivas (3-1, 2.88) http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_05_18_wvaafx_lwdafx_1
