  1. Wow, that outfield is going to steal a lot of bases!
  2. I saw a roster projection on the major league forum, and had some questions about more minor league type projections. River and Closser are both doing pretty well this spring. If we lose them both, what is the catching situation going to be in Nashville? Rottino (if he isn't the 6th IF in Milwaukee)? Palmisano? With Errecart moving to first and the team saying he and Gillespie are ahead of Ford and Brantley, what does that do in Brevard? An outfield of Cain, Gillespie, and Brantley, with Errecart playing first? Or do they want to keep Brantley in West Virginia to start the year? Has Sarfate played himself back to AAA this spring? Has Villanueva played himself into the long role in Milwaukee, at the very least? If Villy goes to Milwaukee, who is behind Yo, Zach Jack, and Dillard on Nashville's rotation?
  3. That's just standard keyboard shortcuts using ASCII characters. Microsoft Office ASCII Character Chart You can pretty much type anything if you hold alt and put in the right sequence. I for one might call Yohannis
  4. At least we'll still have Sheets, and get rid of Suppan. Also, if Bush, Gallardo, and Inman progress as they are supposed to, Capuano would likely be the #5.
  5. I don't care where you're from, driving to Taco Bell at 2:30 in the morning is always a good idea! Thank you whiskey!
  6. i got bored and figured out the averages so far. .295/.359/.488/.847 20 HR 28 SB I'll take it!
  7. If Sarfate really has an option left, does he go back to AAA in your opinion? If so, who takes his spot on the big club? I'd like to see Corey Thurman get the long man job, myself. Edit: Maybe there's not a spot open anyway. I forgot we signed Balfour to a major league contract recently.
  8. I've always wondered the right pronunciation of his name. In my head it's K-licks Crab. Is that right?
  9. Finally some respect for Inman (#37). Good to see.
  10. I am definitely enjoying it, although i don't know a single one of the answers. Very educational and entertaining, all at the same time.
  11. you're thinking of Robinson Cano, and if the trade was Mike Gonzalez for Cano, wow, big win for the Pirates
  12. Has SD found a 2B yet? If not, what could we get for Graffy and Mench? A moderate prospect?
  13. 5. Villanueva - Looked great last year but seemed to pitch better in the majors than he did in his minor league history. Was it a fluke? I hope not. CV's numbers Not amazing numbers, but consistenly good ERA, WHIP, and strikeout numbers every year. 3. Bush - Mediocre, could easily have a 5+ ERA this year. I woudn't want to rely on him to be anything higher than a number 4-5 pitcher. I really think you are underrating Bush here. The stat guys can (and probably will) back me up, but I believe a lot of numbers show that he was the victim of a lot of bad luck last year, and he should keep improving for a few more years. And also, my guess is, after spring training, the first pitcher to be called up in an emergency will be YO!
  14. what does Thatcher throw, and where does this put him for the spring?
  15. it's not the stolen bases that are the problem. it's the caught stealings that always go with those stolen bases that waste a perfectly good single. with dave roberts though, he was 49/55 in stolen bases in 2006. if someone could somehow keep up that percentage then more people would be on board with a fast guy with little to no slugging, but that's pretty unrealistic (dave was only 23/35 in 2006, or a caught stealing about 1 out of every 3 tries) but would i like dave roberts? absolutely, especially over brady clark or tony gwynn jr.
  16. Sheets FA Cappy Garcia Villanueva Where's Bush?
  17. also.. i had never looked at mench's splits before today, and wow.... a mench/jenkins platoon suddenly doesn't sound all that terrible (though it would cost like $11 million)
  18. what is the big lack of vinny rottino thing ned has going on. i NEVER thought i would say this, but... i've got a fever, and the only cure is more d-bell.
  19. I HAVE NEVER KNOWN A WINNING RECORD IN MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER .....wow
  20. is it alright to say hate when bonds doubles in two runs?
  21. I think the word hate is overdoing it a bit. true. how's "has little confidence in" instead?
  22. what ever happened to rottino getting "extensive" playing time? does yost hate him like he hated corey earlier this year?
  23. jenkins starting against a lefty? give me rottino, maybe clark, but jenkins (and yost) need to realize jenkins is, at most, a platoon player on next years team.
  24. anderson starting in left tonight? i know it's nice to have the lefty hitter vs righty pitcher thing going, but how much does this show yost's hate for mench? and hopefully how small his(mench's) chances of being here next year are
  25. wow, exciting night! sheets, villaneuva, gallardo, garrison... oh my!
