Right, the NFL also waits for an egregious call to happen and then over corrects to try to fix that egregious call so it doesn't happen again but usually just ends up with a convoluted rule nobody, including the refs really understand.
Wouldn't be the first time in the last decade that an older, not highly regarded 3rd baseman for the Brewers has a couple good years and completely falls apart. There is a reason McGehee was picked up for nothing and the Brewers had to trade an above average major league reliever for Shaw. Shaw was a much better prospect than McGehee. McGehee had zero seasons in the minors with an OPS above 800. Shaw had one below it. Shaw's worst minor league numbers were close to McGehee's average season. Hell Shaw's bad season in Boston was only slightly worse than McGehee's career minor league numbers. Shaw may never be as good as he was his first two years here but to think he's more likely to put up last season's numbers going forward than what he did the rest of his career seems overly pessimistic. None of this changes the fact that Shaw wasn't highly regarded.

This is the first time the road team has won the first 6 games of the World Series. The only other times the road team has won the first 5 games were 1996 when the Braves won the first 2 at Yankee Stadium and lost the next 3 at home at Fulton County Stadium before the Yankees finally won a home game in game 6 to win the World Series. The second time it happened was in 1906 when the Cubs and White Sox alternated home games. The White Sox won games 1, 3 and 5 at the West Side Grounds, at the time the Cubs home ballpark and the Cubs won games 2 and 4 at South Side Park. The White Sox won game 6 at South Side Park to win the World Series.
The Reds pitching staff got elevated because they brought in a ton of replacements. They got Castillo who pitched about the same overall as he had in his career to this point. DeSclafani gave them 10 more starts and was healthier this year which probably helped his production. Tyler Mahle was still bad. They replaced Matt Harvey, Sal Romano and Homer Bailey's 69 starts with 62 starts from Sonny Gray, Trevor Bauer and Tanner Roark. There's no huge jumps in their relief staff either.
1 ratings point in Los Angeles is 52,766 homes. 1 ratings point in Milwaukee is 8,484 homes. So the Angels averaged 65,430 homes and the Brewers averaged 54,043 homes.
He's clearly still bobbling the ball and doesn't have control of it yet, which you can't see from a still. He doesn't gain control until he's in the end zone or at the very least there's no way you can overturn the call on the field.
