  1. Oh, I’m sure Tom Haudricourt and Chuck Freimund will ask all the tough questions tonight Chuck: Have you ever been to Lomira?
  2. I don't want to compare what I could do against professional athletes but if given 10 tries, I think I probably could've parked that pitch in the seats at least once. Might have been the hangiest curveball in the majors this year.
  3. That Grateful Dead tribute night is going to be great because all the players are going to be high. Aguilar is going to eat 50 bags of gummy bears. Cain is going to be sitting in the outfield laughing uncontrollably. Braun is going to climb halfway up the foul pole and when he sees the people up there will jump because he's frightened and will be caught in a blanket by Counsell, Sedar and Yelich.
  4. No it doesn't. Just asking an honest question...are you THAT afraid of giving up prospects?? You don't really want them to go get anyone, do you?? I don't really think our prospects are going to get us the pitcher you're hoping for and you basically put your window to this year and next and the chances of winning the division this year aren't great so you're banking on winning a one game matchup in the wildcard, assuming you get there in the first place.
  5. I'm ASSUMING it would be for Syndergaard...so any number of options(not considering who the Mets may need position wise) that I would THINK could be trade bait from the current roster...Chase, Chacin, Albers, Arcia, Peralta, Pina, possibly Gamel and yes even Davies. You’re assuming it’s about Syndergaard and then go on to list a bunch of players pretty much no team wants, much less for players like Syndergaard?
  6. The Reds rotation for the most part is right around their career averages. Johnson isn't doing anything special.
  7. It’d be interesting if the Brewers were to offer that effective next year. Would give Yelich big guaranteed money sooner, and the Brewers would be paying it earlier in his career when he’s most productive. That would still take him to 38 years old and again, no thanks on that mess.
  8. He has no reason to accept anything less than 10/250 which would probably start in 2022 which would take him to almost 40 years old and a giant no thanks from me on that mess.
  9. Shelby Miller really hurting the Brewers there.
  10. I love fries. Mmmmmmmm Fried fries, to the Max.
  11. Sounds good in theory but Cain gets a raise, Yelich gets a raise, Moose on that contract is a raise, Davies gets a raise, Guerra gets a raise, Aguilar gets a raise, Arcia gets a raise and you need replacements for the guys you're getting rid of. So you're basically bringing the same team back next year.
  12. Agree totally.... We feel entirely different about our team if we have Bum It's not 2015.
  13. I don't think pitch framing is trash. If you can do it and give your team an advantage, more power to you. However, umps in general are trash and pitch framing wouldn't be as big of a deal if umps weren't so bad at their jobs.
  14. 41-45 over the last 86 games after a 7-1 start. Please tell me what the math means, oh wise one. Even if you want to throw out the last month they were still 45-39 heading into July which means for over 90% of the season they have been a .500 team.
  15. No you didn't show that at all. You showed that the one bad month still looks bad when you add a 57 game stretch where they played over .500 with a positive run differential. You literally posted complete nonsense and you are still defending it. Trying to say that it isn't just one bad month and then adding a sample where the team was above average in both record and run differential is just downright weird. Before this bad month literally nobody thought the team was playing poorly and the stats told you they weren't either, it is a one month bad stretch. You said a bad month doesn't mean they can't compete. I show that after a 7-1 start they have gone 41-45, you then add your own examples showing the Brewers going one game under and one game over .500 as examples that they can compete. That is a pretty damn low bar to set that basically .500 can be considered "competing." Even in that 7-1 stretch to start the season which included going 5-0 in one run games (not something that's sustainable over a full season), their high water mark after that was 10 games over .500 had them going 32-28 with a +7 run differential. So yeah, one bad month doesn't mean they can't compete but one bad month with a bunch of mediocre months means they probably can't and even if they can, with two of our best players being free agents and a not great farm system to get help what exactly is the end goal for the season? Hope the Cubs continue to be mediocre and maybe win the division with 85 games or something? Try to win the wildcard with 83 wins and hope you can advance to the DS and then maybe win a series against a team that's better than you? Doesn't seem like a great plan.
  16. They're 39-45 in their last 84 games with a -30 run differential. Completely meaningless stat though. They are 2-7 in their last 9 games with a -25 run differential. So going into that 9 game stretch they were 37-38 with a -5 run differential or a roughly .500 team. In the past month they are 10-17 so before that they were 29-28 so a winning record in that sample you quoted. They had a -38 run differential during that month so they had a +8 over the rest of your sample . So your proof is based on them going 1 game over .500 with a +8 run differential over my month sample. All you are showing here is how you can make a sample size say what you want it to. I'm also showing that it's not just one bad month like you said. At best they've been mediocre for a vast majority of the season.
  17. They're 41-45 in their last 86 games with a -30 run differential.
  18. That's not going to get us nearly as much as it should. You trade the winter before free agency at the latest.
  19. He can't without an injury...he hasn't been down 10 days yet. "Jay Jackson has been placed on the 10 day IL after stubbing his toe."
  20. I think the likely scenario is Smith is getting called up as a fresh arm to replace Jackson.
