  1. Counsell has used Hader the same way all year. Either tied or with a close lead. We've just been tied and had small leads a lot less lately. It has nothing to do with a fragile state of mind from the tweets or anything stupid like that. If that was affecting him at all they would come up with some random injury and put him on the DL.
  2. Riggleman is dumb. Lorenzen is an actual good hitting pitcher and the runner is already at 2nd. Why try to sacrifice him to 3rd? Especially with Hamilton on deck, which would require him hitting the ball with authority in the air somewhere.
  3. Grindr? Isn’t that a gay meetup app? They have commercials? I’ve had some cringy typos...but this one...takes the cake. Imagine if cake autocorrected to another 4 letter c word for the male anatomy. You would've topped the cringiest typo!
  4. Teams aren't required to pay any remaining salary if the player retires.
  5. I think you would be the only one. $15 million for Broxton is insane even if you have a huge payroll.
  6. He has an 84 OPS+ in 417 plate appearances this year. This idea that he's only being judged on 50 plate appearances is ridiculous. His numbers for the season point to him being a bad hitter, not just his time with the Brewers. His career numbers show he is at best an average hitter. If you want to gamble at least $10 million that 2017 wasn't a fluke, more power to you. I'd rather just cut our losses and try to find an upgrade someplace else.

  8. We have 4 players on our current roster 24 and younger, the same number of players are 32 and over. This is not a young roster. In fact, it's currently the 9th oldest 25 man roster in the majors.
  9. When I first saw the headline on JS I thought he hurt his leg again or something. Then I read the first couple of paragraphs and I guess stoutdude put it perfectly. Yikes.
  10. Almost every regression candidate that I listed last year has regressed. Would have been nice to at least sell high on one or two of them.
  11. I think a popup means they just missed it on the bat so it's probably frustration that they didn't square it up and hit it hard somewhere.
  12. He got a fluky 140 innings and then a #5 starter and he guaranteed the #5 starter's contract for no reason. *ducks*
  13. Well, you've said he's no good and he's average. Which is it? I think people would gladly take average and aren't willing to write him off as "no good" like you have. Please post better. He wasn't good. He was a little below average. I never said he was bad. You're trying to bait.
  14. Yeah, he finished ahead of Carlos Correa in MVP voting. I'm going to take that vote with a giant grain of salt.
  15. A month or a whole 101 plate appearances. The whole thing started when somebody said don't judge him on 41 plate appearances but we're supposed to be good with judging him on 101 plate appearances which took him from terrible to merely below average? Be better.
  16. I don't see anyone here saying we traded for Babe Ruth. All I see are people saying they know he's not as bad as he's looked and the career numbers support it. It would be foolish to cast Schoop as the guy we've seen so far in a 2 week sample. You're the one with the flippant remark that he's no good. You're deeply enlightening comment was "he was no good in Baltimore". The fact is he had a very valuable season at the plate last year and had a huge month at the plate leading up to the trade. Be better. He wasn't good in Baltimore this year. It took a month of hitting .360 to bring him to below average. How exactly was he good this year? Nothing supports that when looking at the entire picture. And piss off with your be better remark.
  17. I don't give any credit to GM's for draft picks.
  18. He wasn't good in Baltimore either. Yeah, that AL player of the week award he had just won when the trade was made was definitely no reason to think he'd produce here. Nor the monster season he had last year. Nor the fact his bat was heating up after a slow start many blamed on injuries. So many people here who have all the answers. I'm in awe of the knowledge here. His career 97 wRC+ is just amazing. I can't believe he hasn't been good offensively when his whole career shows he has been basically average offensively. I mean, who could've guessed that a guy who doesn't walk, swings at everything, has below average hard contact rates and really high soft contact rates might struggle offensively.
  19. Archer gave up 4 runs in 5 innings today but he struck out 7 and didn't walk anyone so his FIP was an amazing, ace like, best pitcher ever 0.36.
  20. He wasn't good in Baltimore either. It took him hitting .360 for a month (with an OBP lower than his average) for him to become merely below average offensively.
