  1. That wasn't really close. It was clear as day from multiple angles.
  2. From the beginning of the season to the end of May he pitched 33 innings over 19 appearances and averaged 2.4 days of rest between appearances. From June to now he's pitched 25.1 innings over 20 appearances and averaged 2.7 days of rest between appearances. So he's pitching less overall, pitching less when he actually gets in a game and getting more rest between outings.
  3. We can't offer less than 80% of his salary this year so I'm guessing we're come in somewhere between $2.96 million and $3.7 million on our offer. That's the 20% drop to the salary he had this year and we would very likely win since he hasn't pitched this year.
  4. Look forward to the discussion the rest of the night on whether we're 2 games back or 4 games back.
  5. Quintana with the Cubs. 209.1 IP (less than 6 innings per start on average) 4.17 ERA, 3.5 BB/9, 9 K/9, 1.25 HR/9 and he's been legitimately bad this year. And they gave up a top 5 MLB prospect and another in the 50-75 range for him. Good stuff. Well done.
  6. We're not even close to the Braves farm system.
  7. Mile away, huh? Does that mean you caught Bote's home run?
  8. Cubs down 3-0 in the 9th go error, HBP, HBP, walk-off grand slam.
  9. Milwaukee Brat House. Bonus is they provide shuttles to Miller Park.
  10. Have to be with the team the whole year and can only be offered once and since he was offered last year he can't be offered again.
  11. Gausman was moved for a bucket of balls too as long as the team was willing to take O'Day's contract as well.
  12. I'm not sure why Counsell feels the need to play the infield in down 8-1. That's an easy groundout if he doesn't do that.
  13. Jacob Barnes has pitched almost as many innings as Hader since June 1st and Barnes has been sent down to the minors multiple times in that time frame.
  14. Wisconsin is doing more than fine in hockey exposure. The only states with more registered players are California, New York, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Illinois and Pennsylvania. Those states are either twice as big (at least) as Wisconsin population wise, have multiple college programs and all have at least one NHL team and in a few cases multiple teams as well as other professional minor league teams, junior teams etc.
  15. SNC or UWSP or whatever powerhouse D3 program moving up to D1 is a lot like the conversations about Whitewater moving to D1, at least for football. Is the prestige of being D1 really worth joining a mediocre at best conference and being an also ran with no hope of ever winning a championship? Maybe SNC or UWSP would get lucky and get accepted to the NCHC or something but that's such a good conference that you're going to be fighting an uphill battle to relevance for a long time.
  16. JJ only pitched 14. 13 were strikes. 2 Ks. Clearly he could have finished and we wouldnt be in a tie for the wildcard now. But we have seen this before this season with Corey. The silver lining in this is that Counsell will learn from this repeated error and finally allow JJ to finish or close. It chaps my ass when JJ or Hader only pitch 1 inning and yield to knebel or Barnes or anyone else. Makes no sense if the pitch count is less than 15. Im tired of the boys club, obviously Knebel is in it. Sheesh! It will be a lot less gut wrenching to blow the leads earlier in the game. Gives the offense more than 3 outs to catch up too.
  17. We were all teenagers once. We've all been there.
  18. MoreTrife is going to love the Braves broadcast this weekend.
  19. I actually thought he hit it foul based on his reaction.
  20. Don't know how you don't send the guy from 3rd there. It's going to take a strong, accurate throw to get him. You might get one with Yelich but you won't get both and the throw ended up being neither.
  21. How about just letting people post what they want to post about?
  22. Someone take a picture while Schoop still has the count in his favor.
  23. The only other options would be UWM, UWGB and Marquette. Now all 3 would have a potential place to play but adding men's hockey requires either adding women's hockey or another women's sport. UWM and UWGB are bottom tier D1 programs to begin with in terms of athletics overall and conference affiliation so the chances the men's team would make money (most men's hockey teams lose money) is virtually zero and women's hockey or another sport won't make money either so they would have to have a pretty big surplus in revenue for it to make any sense and I doubt they have any surplus revenue. Marquette could be like Providence I guess? But again that would require an additional women's sport and would basically need to be funded for several years to get the program up and running much like Terry Pegula did with Penn State. So Marquette is probably the best chance but even then it's probably like a .000000000000000001% chance. And Wisconsin has a lot of quality hockey at the D3 level with 11 teams total. The state has had a participant in the D3 final 14 of the last 20 years, has won 6 of the last 8 championships and St. Norbert and UWSP have played each other in the final twice in the last 5 years.
