  1. Can I just post the laughing emoji? All I really want to do right here is post the laughing emoji.
  2. Yeah, even if Schoop is a slight upgrade on any number of 2B platoon options we had, I'm not sure you can justify the cost of giving up Ortiz and Carmona and paying Schoop the money he's getting the rest of the year and next year. I think it would be stupid to give him $10+ million in arbitration but I'm guessing that's the plan because you don't give up what they did for a rental.
  3. Imagine spending $100+ million on 3 relievers when your offense sucks and immediately have those 3 relievers turn to crap as relievers tend to do.
  4. The Royals are going to want way too much for Perez for the player he is. That would give us 3 position players with career OBPs under .300 and the pitcher. I don't care how much power you have. When you have that many guys making that many outs, it's almost impossible to put together an average offense.
  5. I've said this before but I wish all sports would just have the option to have just crowd noise. I don't need to hear announcers. They don't tell me anything I don't know by just watching the game.
  6. It adds a few more runs but the only reason we have infielders pitching is because we were getting blown out in the first place.
  7. You're not human if you're not laughing just a little bit right now.
  8. Well, we won't give up the most runs in MLB tonight as long as we don't give up another run. And if we do give up another run, we'll only be tied!
  9. Unfortunately he's already making $8.5 million this year so it isn't going to go down. That's another reason I didn't like the trade. Yeah, he has another year of control but that year of control is going to be expensive and I'm not sure if he's worth it.
  10. Pina has been a huge part of the problem so they went out and got a 2nd and 3rd baseman forcing players in the infield to play out of position?
  11. Sonny Gray for Ryan Braun ... no money changes hands. Would Braun veto a trade to a super team where he could DH? Yankees wouldn't do it. They have Stanton, Judge, Gardner and Hicks for outfield/DH and they can just non-tender Gray after the season without taking on any bad money.
  12. Nah, back playing. Bright sunny skies now.
  13. Wouldn't need to be a trade. We could just let him go to the team if they claimed him. Of course Braun could decline with his 10/5 rights but we wouldn't have to work out a trade with another team if we just wanted to get rid of his contract.
  14. Sonny Gray against what's left of the Orioles. 2.2 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 3 K and a ton of boos as he left the mound.
  15. The upgrade on some combo of Miller, Villar and whoever is not worth the price to me.
  16. There may not be another deal and Stearns would still get blame if there was supposed to be another deal and it didn't happen and we ended up with a guy like Shaw playing 2B. This isn't like the outfielder thing in the winter where it was just guys being blocked. This is a team that's trying to make the playoffs putting a guy who has never played 2B and doesn't have close to the athleticism to play there because Stearns felt the need to get another 3B. If this blows up, it's 100% on Stearns whether this was his plan or another deal fell through.
  17. Not only this but Shaw is slow. Like turtle slow. There's a fairly decent chance that he doesn't even beat some runners to 2B much less catch the ball with a runner coming at him and pivoting for a throw to 1st. And for guys like Billy Hamilton? Every plate appearance I would have would be trying to bunt it past the pitcher. Either Shaw has to field it and it's going to take him a while to get there or whoever is playing 1st is going to have to field it and Shaw will have to get over to cover 1st, which he isn't going to be able to do fast enough. There is just no way anyone can look at Shaw, his body type, watching how fast he is when he's running the bases and think playing him in the middle infield is a good idea. I'm not going to say it's the worst idea in the world because a manager could theoretically make Mike Trout a 5th outfielder or something but unless there's athleticism that I have never seen, this is one of the dumber things I've seen a team try to do.
  18. So who plays 3rd next year then? You better be getting a pretty significant upgrade somewhere else if you're trading Shaw and either paying Moustakas $10 or more million than Shaw would make or finding someone else if Moustakas leaves.
