    This. And this is also on ownership. Shell out some money and buy a good affiliate in a good league. We need to rely on development. Having your affiliates in desirable places and knowing you aren't going to be squeezed out to an undesirable location is hugely important.

    Still won't admit to the approach Counsell has take with playing time for our outfielders? They've all have flashes of success and done very well with how he's managed them. Young and older. No, because the approach is stupid.

    The only thing that will make me feel better with how this season has gone is a competitive balance A draft pick. These meaningless wins have been so annoying to me. I hope this offseason we do a major selling off and completely suck from the beginning next year.

    I love getting something for Davis too, but not when the return is looking not so hot and Davis arguably has more value now than he did Obviously the return isn't great right now but Davis doesn't have more value than he did. Sub .300 OBP, to go with power and bad defense. We picked up Carter for $2.5 million to provide exactly the same thing Davis does except more OBP.

    The weird thing is that that was an error or at least a play that any half way decent shortstop would be able to make. Why the Cardinals are playing Gyorko there, I have no idea.

    Gennett is more likely a non-tender candidate than a trade candidate. Villar is a pretty terrible defender at SS, might be at 3B too. He's certainly not someone you willingly move to the most important defensive position on the diamond. I'd definitely move Villar over Arcia and I'd shop Villar pretty aggressively this offseason. Unless he can keep a .400 BABIP year after year, which seems highly unlikely, he's going to regress.

MLB really needs to discipline these umpires instead of the usual "aw shucks, they made a mistake but they try really hard."

    Even after Fowler picked it up and looked up he was going in slow motion. The only reason it was "bad" is because he overslid the base.
