  1. Those down on the farm reports and minor league scores scrolling across the bottom line during the game are so annoying and unnecessary. I don't give a single crap whether the team wins or loses, just how our prospects are developing, since they never show that, it's pointless.
  2. Carter looked exactly like Pedro Cerrano after the count went to 0-2 just looking at his bat and berating Jobu because he swung and missed.
  3. Watching Counsell manage, he looks like a kid. I just can't stop thinking that he's the real life Billy Heywood.
  4. Put a scare into the fans at Miller Park. Okay Brian. Just ignore the fact that it's at minimum a 50/50 split between fans.
  5. Briggs is going to make a thread about every mediocre reliever that comes on the market. Why? He's not even that good and if he was, what's the difference of like 1 win? It's just not worth it.
  6. The only reason I like Aaron Hill is because his walk-up song is All Along the Watchtower.
  7. They clean up quotes from everyone. Imagine how many "umms" or "you knows" would be in an interview with American players. Also, while he's foreign, he still speaks English, so imagine how many times "and that" would be used in an interview with Melvin if Haudricourt or McCalvy put in every single thing he said without any editing.
  8. I just can't get excited about Gatewood. 1 walk and 37 strikeouts in 117 at bats is horrible. He's going to get eaten up by more advanced pitching as he moves up if he doesn't make an adjustment.
  9. He probably doesn't have Giles' value and never will just because Giles is younger and has more team control. Giles strikes out more guys but Jeffress gets a ton of ground balls and still has struck out 8.2 per 9 innings since coming back to the Brewers. Striking out almost a batter per inning and getting ground balls 58% of the time it's put in play is a good combination. Now that he's racking up saves, his value is going up. I hope they sell high and they'll get a damn good return in July if they make him available and he keeps it up.
  10. You can listen to him on TNT right now calling the Warriors/Blazers game.
  11. Why now? When Arcia comes up, he'll move to either 2B or 3B. Until that time comes, there's no reason to move him and hurt his value (in case some team decides they want to blow us away with an offer.)
  12. I have a hard time believing Smith ever had a plus change. If he did, he would've stayed in the rotation.
  13. That was fun to follow the last month. Glad they got it done this weekend as I have to work this Saturday and will miss the matches. Spurs self-destructing in the second half with the season on the line, lucky they finished with eleven men on the pitch. They probably should've finished with 8, 9 at the most. I'm going to laugh pretty hard if Pelegrini takes Manchester City to the Champions League Final while Guardiola and Bayern are home again.
  14. I love how this is the free game of the day on Yahoo but due to local blackout restrictions, we can't watch it. Isn't that supposed to be for games actually on TV? I get not having it on if the game is on FS Wisconsin because it takes viewers away from them but that's not the case today.
  15. How does this Angels team think they're going to compete? They have like two good hitters if Pujols doesn't fall off another cliff, another awesome hitter and bad pitching.
  16. I don't think flipping players really works. A lot of these vet guys are signed to fill the roster for a year or two until a prospect can come up and replace them. If they're good enough that you can flip them, you do that but I don't think that's the main intent. I'm sure we would love to flip Aaron Hill if he didn't suck, of course Arizona probably wouldn't have been desperate to get rid of his salary if he didn't suck either.
  17. They've done it! Chelsea came back from two goals down against Spurs to draw. Leicester City are the Premier League Champions!
  18. The second we got Aaron Hill the only thing I could think of was "This is going to be the gritty vet that Counsell plays way too much."
  19. Well that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a baseball field.
  20. When Brian gets back, I wonder how long it will take him to compare Perez to Miguel Cabrera like he did in spring training.
  21. Good thing we aren't in your day anymore. I want the right calls not the "it beat you and I'm too lazy to actually look and decide."
  22. The Astros aren't going to trade Gomez for an "insignificant prospect" less than a year after trading for him.
  23. Spurs draw with West Brom. Magic number now down to 3. A win next week at the Theatre of Dreams would be a pretty incredible way for them to win the title.
  24. Nobody is going to come to watch this version of Lincecum. Come on now, are we still thinking he's the 95 mph throwing Cy Young candidate?
