  1. Only complaint about this is I would have preferred Betancourt be released than Gonzalez.
  2. Michael Hunt is just terrible.
  3. He could've just watched his glove the whole time and then figured it out when Segura had the ball in his right hand when he didn't see a transfer from glove to hand.
  4. Everything should be on the table including trading Braun. It would take an absolutely massive haul to deal him and no team is likely to meet the asking price but I feel every player should always be available for the right price. No sense in shutting doors when a potentially great trade could come your way just because the player is "the franchise."
  5. Here's Melvin's interview. It starts at 31 minutes. Just shove ice picks into your ears when Gary and LeRoy talk. http://media.sportsradio1250.com/a/75595731/05-31-13-big-show-3pm-hour.htm?pageid=911300
  6. The Phillies are all kinds of awful. Making the Brewers look competent.
  7. We should bombard #MILCloyd just to show how stupid these twitter polls are.
  8. Bianchi showed some real nice grit there hitting the ball right at Rollins but soft enough that he couldn't turn the double play.
  9. Andrew McCutchen, ballet dancer.
  10. Sparky (one of the hosts who is on vacation) texted in a question to ask. It was about Carlos Rodon. Melvin says "I don't remember the name."
  11. Doug Melvin is doing an interview on WSSP right now. It is depressing to listen to him. I'll post it when they put it on their website.
  12. Fun fact. Over the last week Weeks is hitting .286 and Bianchi is hitting .222.
  13. I don't know why people keep putting Lucroy on their untouchables list. Yes I know we don't have anyone to replace him and yes he's signed for cheap for a while but other than last year he's been a fairly mediocre player, even as a catcher. Never topped 1.4 WAR. 5.4 WAR in his career in 1300 plate appearances, 2.2 WAR in 930 excluding his 2012 (which was great but he played over his head imo). He's more like a .700 OPS catcher with average defense to me. That's not a player that should be untouchable. He's not that young either, he's going to be 27 in a couple of weeks. Certainly not old but he's not a 23 year old that still has upside. If someone makes a good offer, I would trade him.
  14. Kenn Hoekstra‏@kennhoekstra33m Did Milwaukee Lohse again? #BrewerPuns Kenn Hoekstra‏@kennhoekstra29m Is it time to Fiers Roenicke or Melvin? #BrewerPuns Kenn Hoekstra‏@kennhoekstra19m #Brewers couldn't have Axford a worse month of May... #BrewerPuns
  15. There's bound to be an aging pitcher or hitter we can spend money on to "shore things up"! Narvy just made a rehab start tonight. I'm sure we'll turn it around when he comes back.
  16. Yay for the bear! Happy that it was put out of its misery? I like how they had to tell us that the car was moving. I thought the bear would've been hit by a parked car.
  17. Kind of surprised they didn't arrest him after finding out he was the manager of the Royals.
  18. Assuming the Mets can hang on to their 2-1 lead against the Yankees, they'll have done it.
  19. I know a lot of you don't like Keith Law but he answered a couple Brewers related questions today in his chat. Fonz (Milwaukee) If Mark Attanasio decides to can Doug Melvin, how worried should Brewers fans be that Attanasio's distaste for rebuilding will just lead to Ed Wade 2.0? Terrified of the long, agonizing slide into mediocrity that we've seen here before. Klaw (1:48 PM) That is a concern - he needs to accept that the Brewers are a rebuild situation. They've got the third worst record in baseball, and one of the worst farm systems, and no first round pick this year. Norman (NY) Who's to blame for the Brewer's horrible drafts of the last 5 years? Any reason to believe things can change in the next year or 2? Klaw (1:52 PM) Looks systemic - like the process hasn't worked for them, unfortunately. I heard last week that the year they took Covey (and he chose not to sign), one of their top alternatives was Jesse Biddle.
  20. I think they wanted one with Axford too.
  21. What?!?!? A 20 (21?) year old already producing at the same level as Braun plus an ace and the Nationals would have to add more?!?!
