  2. The hats are still hideous, I actually don't mind the uniforms.

You're completely ignoring the fact that Braun, Hart, Morgan, Weeks, Marcum, Gallardo etc. will all be getting pretty substantial pay raises. Braun, Hart, Weeks and Gallardo alone are going to make $13.25M more combined than they did in 2011. Morgan and Marcum will get sizable increases as well although we don't know exactly how much. Gomez and Loe will also get raises.
  4. He has the choice to void that $16M as well if he's traded, so it could be just a one year rental. I agree that if we're looking for a 3B, Ramirez makes far more sense to just try and sign than trading for Wright does.
  5. They say the best teachers are the ones who didn't have elite skills. It's not easy for them to teach since it came easy to them.
  6. Let's not make the Marcum trade worse by giving him up for that.
  7. TooLiveBrew wrote: Are you just basing this off one bad throw? Hart's arm isn't awful, it's probably about average or below-avg. for RF. That -1 rating that JET posted (assuming 0 is neutral) seems about accurate imo. No, not just on that throw. His problem is he doesn't set his momentum to go towards where the throw is heading so he doesn't get as much on the throw as he could. Most of the time when I see him he'll be standing flat footed with no momentum so the throw ends up being pretty bad.
  8. I remember earlier this year Hart had to make a throw from shallow RF and it barely made it past the infield dirt before it bounced. His arm is awful.
  9. Totally shocking move since yesterday we were hearing Sveum possibly interviewing for the Cubs manager job.
  10. Introducing the Lakeshore Chinooks.
  11. PrinceEatMeat wrote: For the sake of the award, I hope he doesn't win. Why? It's not like all of a sudden they started nominating players who didn't deserve the award.
  12. The Mets are paying K-Rod's buyout.
  13. I would take a chance on him, but it wouldn't be to play CF. Maybe RF or 1B, a less stressful defensive position where he doesn't have to cover a lot of ground and put more wear and tear on his knee.
  14. Why do they need two bullpen spots? They only use O'Flaherty, Venters and Kimbrel anyways.
  15. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
  16. Patrick425 wrote: For all the discussion about the proper pronunciation of Betancourt, I'm more puzzled by being annoyed with BA saying Jon Jay. Um...that's his name..right? Yeah, I don't know why either, it just annoys me. Maybe it's because his first and last name has three letters, maybe it's because they both start with J, maybe it's because he has two first names. To be fair to Brian, it annoys me when anyone says Jon Jay, so it's not just him.
  17. And I realize this shouldn't bother me at all especially since my last name is pronounced totally different than how it's spelled and I don't know why it annoys me but for some reason it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. And no, I don't blame Betancourt for it yet, although I'm trying to think of a way that I can. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. nate82 wrote: That is the correct way to say his last name the "t" is silent in his last name. I know it is. Still doesn't mean it can't annoy me.
  19. Mike wrote: True except you did have to hear BA announce- "Betancourt goes after the first pitch and pops up to...." Love that line! And for the last couple months of the season it was Betancore. For some reason that really annoyed me, along with BA saying Jon Jay.
  20. trwi7 wrote: The Admirals continue their AHL record. With an overtime loss and a win in Abbotsford on Friday and Saturday they have now gone 20 road games without a regulation loss. Make that 21 games. 27 if you include the playoffs. Now 3-0 against the Woofs this year.
  21. Looks like the small market owners are going to cave (for some reason) and a new CBA agreement will be reached next week. Enjoy these threads, because the Bucks aren't going to be here much longer if the details being leaked about the new CBA are true.
  22. It's a shame that managers feel the need to have a "closer" because Feliz is just about the last guy I would want coming into the game right now.
  23. There are a ton of Rangers fans there tonight.
