  1. Nope. He was added to the 40 man in May and hasn't been sent to the minors since, so he still has all three.
  2. Santana went from 40 innings, to 93, to 160, to 86 to 44, to 157, to 158 and then ranged from 219 to 234 innings. I don't know for sure but I don't think he was hurt in that time either. The most innings Braddock has thrown in his career is 71.1. So Santana had 160 innings in a season as a 20 year old and only went down to 86 because he had to be on the major league team in Minnesota and he wasn't going to start. He then moved back to the minors and put in about 50 innings and then got 100 more in Minnesota, the next year they kept him around 160 innings again before letting him start for a full season. So Santana had gone 160 innings before being in the bullpen, when they moved him back to starting they kept him around 160 innings for two years before letting him start all year and he had never been injured to my knowledge. That's a pretty big difference from Braddock. He has 36 innings so far this year. If they plan on moving him back to a starter's role, I hope they build his innings up now. Maybe every five days he goes 3 innings for the rest of the season. That would give him 75 innings on the season. See if he can handle that. I'd also prefer he do that up here so we don't burn an option on him. Next year send him to the minors and see if he can get around 110 innings. He'd then have two options remaining. Then build him up to 140-150 innings, he'd have one option remaining and then 170-180 innings and being out of options. That's really the only way I see it working and it probably won't work since I'm not sure he can handle that work load.
  3. Explorer 8 on the desktop. Firefox on the laptop.
  4. Exactly. And there's a reason you're not playing everyday, Carlos. Hint, hint. It says that he still has two options left but I'm guessing based on service time that he would have to go through revocable waivers? That still wouldn't be a problem most likely as we could just pull him back if he is claimed. I think a little time in the minors would be good for Gomez.
  5. Once again, I'm not sure why we need to get a major league or major league ready starting pitcher for Fielder or Hart. Even with a major league ready starter are we likely to compete next year? No. So take the best talent you can get regardless of where the player is. Take a look at the Teixeria trade and where the players were at that time. Saltalamacchia - AA with a little MLB experience Harrison - AA Andrus - A+ Feliz - Rookie ball Jones - A Saltalamacchia is 25 and in nearly 800 at bats has a .251/.313/.388 career line Harrison is 25 and in 200 innings has a 5.34 ERA, 5.08 FIP and 4.85 xFIP. He still throws relatively hard, especially for a lefty so he still has a chance though. Andrus will turn 22 in a month, finished 2nd in the Rookie of the Year vote last year when he was a 3 WAR player and he'll be or at least be close to being a 3 WAR player again this year. Feliz is 22 and in his first 70 innings in the majors has 10.67 K/9, 2.64 BB/9, 2.89 ERA, 3.00 FIP, 3.53 xFIP while throwing in the mid to upper 90s. He should really be stretched out as a starter as he's far more valuable in that role. Jones will be 24 in a month and is now a reliever. He still has good stuff with good strikeout numbers but continues to struggle with walks. So the two best players in the deal were an A ball shortstop and a Rookie level pitcher. Take the best talent you can get and hope they all work out even though it's very likely they won't. Don't be shortsighted and demand MLB pitchers or MLB ready pitchers. You're less likely to get a trade done and you very well could be limiting your upside in a trade. I don't care if a pitcher's in A ball, AA, Rookie ball, whatever. If he has a lot of talent and his team is willing to trade him, I'll take him.
  6. I'd have no problem if Gomez only hit .260 as long as his OBP was in the .330-.340 range and his SLG% would be in the .400 range and he was playing elite defense. The problem is even if he was hitting .260, his OBP would still only be in the .310 range unless he suddenly learned how to be more disciplined at the plate and he hasn't played elite defense this year.
  7. How unlikely are the playoffs you ask? Even if the Cards go 30-38 the rest of the way which would give them an 83-79 record, the Brewers would have to finish 41-26 to finish with 84 wins. And that's to say nothing about Cincinnati needing to collapse too. And we're not passing 8 teams to get the wildcard either as that's even more unlikely than St. Louis and Cincinnati collapsing.
  8. Who here really thinks he can only be a lefty bullpen guy? He could be a closer, which is great. Two cheap really good relievers in Axford and Braddock has some value to us as it hopefully prevents Melvin from going out and overpaying for bullpen arms. Another problem is he would need to develop a changeup or some other third pitch. He's fastball/slider right now. That's fine for the bullpen but he's not going to get away with just two pitches as a starter unless he develops great control like Sheets which he likely won't. Either way, if he was moved back into a starting role, he wouldn't be doing it in Milwaukee next year. I'd like to see it happen. I just don't see the Brewers doing it.
  9. 1. He's not going to be able to build up enough innings to be in the rotation next year. 2. Everytime he's in the rotation, he gets hurt. And that rotation still wouldn't be very good.
  10. But they could've gotten Halladay without trading Lee. Really, trading Lee for what they did was a really dumb move.
  11. Lefty starting tomorrow. Don't think Edmonds starts. Gomez probably will though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  12. I'm just wondering why we need a major league pitcher currently in a deal for Fielder to make it a fair trade.
  13. So can anyone explain how Counsell and his .616 OPS is always the first or second pinch hitter? Other than Macha being stupid.
  14. Is Peralta working on getting more ground balls like Rivas? Because his strikeouts are down this year as well. 10.24 K/9 last year 6.43 K/9 this year 1.15 GO/AO last year 1.56 GO/AO this year
  15. I missed what Telly said. Did Macha just say he wants to keep him as a right handed pinch hitter?
  16. Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait a little longer. That's on at 8.
  17. How about 7-0? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Plus side. If it's a blowout, Cain might get some playing time. LOL at McGehee.
  19. Come on Dorn, get in front of the damn ball! Don't give me this "olé" bull.
