  1. Certainly wouldn't hurt if he went 4-4 though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Oh wow, that's a terrible deal for the Blue Jays.
  3. A big no to Tommy Hunter for me. Extreme fly ball pitcher, mediocre stuff, awful strikeout rate. That's the trifecta of stay away for me.
  4. Reds announcer on Gomez being thrown out at third. "Well a ridiculously dumb play by Carlos Gomez to lead the inning off. You're down by three and the play is developing in front of you and you're still trying to go to third."
  5. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/ga...lb_milmlb_1&mode=gameday Yep, that was impressive. Notice the mass exodus as he's rounding the bases. Hard to believe there were over 38,000 there.
  6. The Braves could make it worthwhile as well if they thought Glaus could play a decent LF, which is unlikely.
  7. If gameday's hit thingy is accurate at all, I could believe it.
  8. It sounded close, but still. There was nobody out, you're down 3 and it was in left field. Why even try for a triple there? What possible gain is getting that one extra base in that situation?
  9. Even when Gomez does something on offense he screws it up. I can't stand him.
  10. You put claims in, you can just pull a guy back if you don't like what the team is offering and you can only trade with that team. That's why a lot of trades don't happen then. You can't create a market since you can only trade with the team who claimed him and a lot of times a claim is made to prevent a competing team from making a claim. Just like with Hoffman last year. The Giants claimed him, but they didn't need him. They just wanted to prevent the Rockies, Dodgers and Phillies from claiming him.
  11. No. No team wanted to beat the offer the Brewers gave him this winter. Now he's pitched horribly and has the same contract he did then. He's our anchor.
  12. He should play center tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Are you calling Loe a youngster? Because he's going to be 29 before the season is over.
  14. Drabek and Taylor were originally moved to Toronto in the Halladay trade, but Toronto took Taylor and traded him to Oakland for Wallace. But yes, Holliday was a free agent to be and at the time was considered a rental for St. Louis and he got the Cardinals #2 and #6 prospect plus a third prospect.
  15. If you want a team that's a team that's going to win now, go with the Penguins. If you want a team that's sort of close and Midwestern-y, go with the Blues. If you want a team with a great tradition and fans but who sucks (lulz at trading Tyler Seguin and Jared Knight plus a 1st round pick for Phil Kessel) go with the Leafs.
  16. Sharks fans should just be happy that they didn't choke in the 1st round again.
  17. LOL. 24 strikes and 2 balls for Arroyo. Oh, make that 25 to 2 and a tie game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I still say that Wolf is a better hitter than he is a pitcher and a better hitter than Gomez.
  19. I laughed so hard at Gomez's at bat. Pitch 1: Swing as hard as you can - miss curveball by 3 feet Pitch 2: Show bunt - spin away from curveball which ends up being a strike Pitch 3: Swing as hard as you can at 86 mph fastball up and in - miss badly
  20. Let's see. Looking for some positives. Umm, at least Wolf keeps the defense involved?
  21. This is easily my biggest fear. Take the best talent you can get. If that talent is in the majors, great. If that talent is in A+, do it. I don't want to limit the talent that we get because they weren't major leaguers or weren't major league ready. I almost cried at your last sentence HtR. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
