  1. Does anyone know if Peralta's move up is permanent or if he's just filling in for a week or two and heading back down to Brevard County?
  2. I'd be willing to bet a substantial amount that we got a lot more. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. That's part of it, but he's also been awful with runners on base this year. Sub .700 OPS with runners on. Sub .700 OPS with RISP Sub .700 OPS with the bases loaded. Sub .600 OPS with RISP and 2 outs.
  4. Ha. Another triple for Lawrie.
  5. Yeah, as TLB said the Carolina League is High A. He's also built up some innings as well with 124 last year and already 117 this year. He has a slightly above average fastball at 90-94 mph. An above average changeup (and we know how much the Brewers like the changeup) and an average curveball with the potential to be above average. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he gets some innings in AA this year, starts there next year and depending how he does moves to AAA and then possibly the majors.
  6. Gamel. But even if we didn't have Gamel, who cares who plays third? It's not like we need a third baseman immediately.
  7. Just a thought. Would a Hart for Randall Delgado swap be fair? I really like Delgado.
  8. They focused a lot on the players who had a big impact on the game. They focused on McGehee and his family after he got the game winning hit off Marmol. They focused on Gomez when he scored the winning run from 1st on a bunt. They focused on Riske coming back from TJ surgery. They focused on the player's families and I don't think Braun has a wife or kids so it's easy to see why they didn't have Braun in there.
  9. Drew Gooden doesn't bring toughness.
  10. I just find it really hard to believe he's 8-20 bunting. Edit: I just found out that fangraphs has bunt hits and attempts. That quick glossary that I just noticed is a great tool because I had no idea what BUH%, BU and BUH meant until just now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Geez. Does this sound like someone who should be playing almost everyday? http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/98981309.html
  12. 7/150 sounds about right to me and yes, I would be upset if we gave him that contract.
  13. Pretty much. And if he gets those dozen chances with the Brewers and doesn't succeed, he'll get a dozen chances with other teams. I understand the frustration with Parra as well, but we're not going anywhere this year. We just need to start playing the young guys to see if anything clicks. Even if it comes at the expense of wins.
  14. I say that Randy Wolf contract is looking mighty ugly.
  15. Nice at bat, Carlos. Take the strike and swing at the balls.
  16. I know he scored, but that was really stupid by Weeks to go there and/or really stupid by Fischer to send him.
  17. Yes. Lawrie is the best prospect in that deal.
  18. From the game thread last night: Sigh. It's getting to the point where we can call Macha's stupid moves a day before they happen.
  19. http://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/19095804344
  20. I'm not 100% sure since I don't remember, but Braun was drafted in 2005 and called up in 2007. Players drafted at age 19 and older like Braun was need to be added to the 40 man roster after four minor league seasons, since he was only in his third minor league season, he didn't need to be on the 40 man roster until he was called up and he hasn't been sent down since he was called up. So my guess is he wasn't on the 40 man roster until he was called up. Same goes for Gallardo. He was in his fourth minor league season but didn't need to be added until after his fifth year because he was 18 or younger on the June 5th preceding his first pro contract. I remember Gallardo was called up when Capuano went on the DL, I don't remember the roster move when Braun was called up and I don't remember if they had open spots on the 40 man at the time to just add them.
  21. They definitely carry over. Braun and Gallardo still have all 3 options. Gomez still has 2. We sent Bush down to the minors in his 5th year in the majors and he still has 2 options.
  22. Next years draft is awful, that would not be the draft to trade up in. The consensus #1 pick next year is Harrison Barnes and I'm not sure he would've been taken in the top 5 this year.
