  1. Basically what you're saying is he has bad range, so if he did have bad range his UZR would be bad, but his UZR is good.
  2. I just remembered this from the end of last year with quotes from Melvin and Ash.
  3. Ugh. Certainly doesn't sound like Cain is going to get a lot of playing time.
  4. This would be a good game for Cain to get his first at bat jitters out of the way.
  5. Umm, Brian. I'm pretty sure Gallardo is the Brewers best hitting pitcher statistically.
  6. Nope. Just sleeves that go slightly over his elbows.
  7. Boooooooo. I for one am looking forward to seeing how bad Gomez looks against Hanson.
  8. I have my doubts as well, but Edmonds is made of glass and Macha doesn't like Gomez at all for good reason.
  9. He's been more of a help when he's on the DL. Hopefully Cain plays everyday.
  10. Nice Corey. Show those Braves what you can do. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I would do that trade, but it would never happen. Miller Park would be burned to the ground if a fan favorite like Prince was traded to the Cubs.
  12. Arnett back to Wisconsin. Nieves takes a leave of absense to play in the Central American Games. EDIT: Discuss in the Arnett thread [bK].
  13. UVerse has been a pain in the ass with the TV's going out recently. Totally annoying.
  14. They're tied for 15th in fielding percentage which is much easier for them to look up.
  15. Yeah, I'm waiting for a good reason. The Brewers were 80-82 when Fielder started and 61-49 when Hall started. Therefore Hall > Fielder.
  16. Getting a pinch hit at bat is difficult for a young player. If you put his average number of at bats over a full season he would have 348 at bats. That's hardly regular at bats.
  17. Starting in 51% of games is hardly regular playing time.
  18. Didn't Counsell say the team is in trouble if he's starting? He knows he's a bench player, pretty much everyone does. Why start a 37 year old bench guy instead of a 23 year old top prospect? Here's the problems I have. 1. They had no plan for Gamel. Macha says he was put in a "zim-zam" when he was called up. How can you not have a plan for your top prospect when he's called up? 2. It took Melvin way too long to send Gamel back down when it was clear he wasn't going to get any playing time. 3. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why Bill Hall got only one less start than Gamel in the time Gamel was up. That is just complete mismanagement. If they didn't feel Gamel was ready or didn't want to play him, fine. Just say that and send him back down. Don't have him sit on the bench wasting service time when he could be in the minors getting at bats and working on his defense in actual game situations.
  19. And this is what's frustrating to me. Just take the attendance hit and lower payroll for a year or two. This team is going nowhere with band-aid free agent signings to "compete now." I looked at the shots from around the stadium during the last homestand and there was no way there were as many people there as the announced attendance. I know they base attendance on tickets sold, but one of those games, can't remember which one there couldn't have been more than 25,000 at the game and the announced attendance was over 30,000. They're losing money in concessions and parking from the 5,000+ that didn't show up. I wish they would just take their lumps for a year or two and rebuild this thing. Band-aid free agent signings are hurting the team much more than they're helping it.
  20. That's fine with me. Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can take a couple steps forward.
  21. A .760 OPS? I'm pretty sure Gamel could've and did do that. Macha also started Hall almost as many times as he started Gamel. There was no excuse for that. It could've been done like this. Gamel starts at 3B 5-6 times a week. McGehee starts at 2B 4-5 times a week and takes one or two starts at 3B. Hall and Counsell fill in at 3B/SS/2B with Hall filling in the OF as well on occasion. Then you get Gamel and McGehee playing and there's no need to make the Lopez trade.
  22. I doubt they bench Helton, especially after just extending his contract despite how bad he's looked.
