  1. WIN! This was a pretty fast game. Less than 2.5 hours.
  2. Only 1 strikeout in 1.1 innings for Braddock. He's awful.
  3. I think we all understand that, but if we decided to trade Escobar in return for a young ace or something (I realize Escobar isn't going to fetch that on his own) then Heether becomes a pretty good option assuming we can't keep Hardy and assuming Heether is a decent defender.
  4. Welch is actually starting tonight. Huntsville leads 4-0 in the 3rd. RBI's for Stern, Rottino, Green and Perez. Wisconsin tacks on a run in the second on a Michael Vass homer. 3-0 in the 4th.
  5. Nobody's in the chat room except me and tomwopat right now (hint, hint). http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Lawrie connects in the 1st inning with a two-run homer. 2-0 T-Rats. Let's stop that big winning streak for Cedar Rapids!
  7. Control hasn't been good for Yo so far. 21 strikes and 24 balls through 3 so far. Luckily, the Braves haven't capitalized so far.
  8. That's actually not a bad idea. I put his numbers in the MLE calculator at minorleaguesplits.com for the past two years in Nashville (roughly 500 at bats) and it came out to .288/.372/.421/.793 with 29 doubles and 10 homers. I know he's older, but if he can play decent defense, that's a pretty good option.
  9. In his last 181.1 innings, Carmona has walked 111 and struck out 94. To be fair, he does get a lot of ground ball outs, but I don't see how that's a good deal for the Brewers at all.
  10. We'd be adding quite a bit of salary. I wouldn't do that as it might prevent us from going after a much better pitcher at the deadline.
  11. Getting on base better than 33% of the time would help.
  12. Is it really that hard to replace Suppan though. I'm pretty sure Nick Green, Chase Wright or Tim Dillard could come up and be what Suppan is now.
  13. Ouch. Bush smashed in the pitching arm by a line drive. He's likely done.
  14. Brian says another reason Hall is in for Gamel is that Bush doesn't strike a lot of hitters out and Hall is a better defender. That might be a good defense if Bush got a lot of ground outs, but he doesn't.
  15. He's made 23 outs now this season. Only three have been on the first pitch. And he has taken the most pitches per plate appearance (4.26) than any other member of the Brewers. Next closest is Fielder at 4.15. I know it's a small sample, but still.
  16. That would be a bad move. He has an option, so not only are we wasting service time by having him be the designated junk thrower in the bullpen, but we're also wasting possible future development by not having him start somewhere.
  17. 51 minutes. I also agree that I can understand why Macha wanted McClung to hit that inning, but then you have to pinch hit for Hall there.
  18. Seconded. I'd give up Parra for Peavy. I wouldn't give up Parra for a half season rental in Bedard.
  19. I agree. They were actually talking about this on the broadcast tonight. In the first inning, Manny wouldn't wait more than 10 seconds after he got the ball back from Kendall to throw the next pitch. Then in the 2nd inning and through the rest of the game he was waiting, he would hold the ball, step off the mound, wait some more. It seems like he's just thinking too much out there. I agree with those who would send him to Nashville. As for the replacement. Does it really matter? If they can give 5 innings at a 6 ERA, are they any worse than Parra right now?
  20. 7 innings, 7 strikeouts and 0 walks now for Jeffress.
