  1. I doubt TH gets the list and he doesn't even make the official list. He just gives an outline to BA and if they think someone is too high or too low, they change it.
  2. Was it against the Astros last year? Or as I like to say the Geoff Blum game.
  3. It's not the same. Here are the top 15 win producers from each position this year. Kevin Durant was fourth amongst SF's despite playing for a terrible Thunder team. Jose Calderon was fourth amongst PG's despite playing for a bad Toronto team. http://www.wagesofwins.com/Top152009.html
  4. Interesting that you want to go to the sabermetric side of things. Here is a link that takes all of your list into account. The top 15 shooting guards of 2007-2008 (I would use this years, but that isn't up yet.) Redd isn't on the list. The most overrated players from 2007-2008, #1 is Richard Jefferson, #7 is Michael Redd.
  5. Maybe that stance is comfortable to him. I don't know how the hell Youkilis can hit the ball with his batting stance, but it works, so why change it?
  6. Again, there's two sides to the ball. Nene is a good defender, Redd is not. Kidd is still easily better than Redd, he rebounds, he gets assists and he's still a better defender than Redd. Love got those numbers in 25 minutes. 9 rebounds in 25 minutes as a rookie is very impressive. Redd was also the #1 or at worst #2 option when he was playing. Love was probably 4th or 5th.
  7. Yeah, I have no idea what Adams was throwing last year at Helena or in college, but this year he certainly isn't throwing 92-94 and his control is pretty awful as well. I could expect that from a high school pitcher or a guy with electric stuff, but Adams pitched three years in college and I haven't seen good velocity or good command from Adams this year.
  8. I don't know why you're blaming McGehee in that at bat. Sure, it would've been nice if he could get the bunt down on the first pitch, but not everybody does, so McGehee is hardly alone in that and then with a 1-1 count he had to swing at a horrible pitch and just try to foul it off so Counsell wouldn't get caught stealing. I can't blame him for not making contact on that pitch since it was so awful. If you're going to blame someone, blame Macha for putting on a hit and run in that situation.
  9. Kidd is easily better than Redd, as is Millsap and Prince. Nene is incredibly efficient on offense and a much better defender than Redd. Fine, you may not agree on Love, I disagree. He's a monster rebounder as a rookie and as he gets older, he should improve his shooting. Although I find your reason for Love not being as good as Redd hilarious. Love racked up decent stats on a terrible team as opposed to Redd who racked up decent stats on terrible teams.
  10. Definitely. As for the O.P. if this doesn't ease your concerns, I don't know what will. As a 20 year old in the Midwest League, Bill Hall hit .262/.287/.370/.657 with 18 walks, 127 strikeouts and 10 steals in 21 attempts in 470 at bats. As a 19 year old in the Midwest League, Brett Lawrie is hitting .282/.352/.486/.838 with 15 walks, 26 strikeouts and 11 steals in 17 attempts in 142 at bats.
  11. I believe Rottino requested to go down to Huntsville so he could play everyday.
  12. Games on the 14th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st were rained out or cancelled due to wet grounds, so there wasn't much time in there to get pitchers work.
  13. If the Bucks didn't sign Redd to a max contract, someone else would have (or come darned close to), and they would have lost him for nothing. So? You don't sign players like Redd to max contracts unless you have a player like Dwight Howard or Dwyane Wade or Chris Paul. Trying to build around Redd as your best player leads you exactly where the Bucks have been since he signed that contract. Bad with a chance to be mediocre if everything goes right. but that would mean being the worst team in the league or darned close to in order to get the #1 overall pick. Since we signed Redd to that extension, we've averaged 32 wins. The teams who have gotten the #1 pick since Redd signed his extension have averaged 28 wins. So no, you don't have to be the worst team in the league to get the #1 pick and we've been one of the worst teams in the league since Redd signed that contract. And when his contract is up he will get a lot more than $6M. But will he get a max contract like Redd got? Please compare Redd to another player who was a star prior to his contract coming up. I'm not going to compare him to stars, because Redd is not a star. Joe Johnson signed a 5 year $70 million contract, he's better than Redd. Kevin Martin signed a 5 year $55 million contract, Josh Howard signed a 4 year $40 million contract, Rip Hamilton signed a 3 year $34 million extension, Stephen Jackson signed a 4 year $35 million extension, Danny Granger signed a 5 year $60 million contract. Those players are all comparable to or better than Redd and signed for much less. Either way, contracts aren't going to matter until the Bucks start drafting better. That's why they need to fire Dave Babcock. He's been on the job for four years I believe and he's gotten us Bogut, Yi and Alexander in the lottery. That's awful.
  14. I personally enjoyed the riveting Steve Phillips commentary about how Mauer had less than a quarter second to diagnose what pitch was coming and whether or not it was a strike and less than .2 seconds after that to move the bat into a hitting position. That didn't get old everytime Mauer came up to bat at all.
  15. Sub .800 OPS. For what it would take to get him, I don't want him.
  16. Yes you can. Lots of people do that until the parking lot clears out.
  17. That was my thought as well. In fact this was from his May 21st blog when the Peavy to White Sox thing came out. Then there was this from March 24th. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41798942.html I have to imagine someone, whether it be Melvin, Attanasio or someone else high in the organization gave the indication to Haudricourt that they planned on making a move for Peavy.
  18. The walks are still concerning, but at least it looks like two of the three hits he gave up were grounders and not line drives.
  19. I don't think Frederickson, Brewer and Dykstra have a lot of value right now, so I doubt they could be 60% of a Peavy trade.
  20. Right, but when evaluating players in the NBA you can't just look past salary because of the salary cap.
  21. Peavy deal not impossible.
  22. Yeah, but you don't pay a player who's just a scorer (like Redd) a max contract. John Salmons makes $6 million a year and he's just as good of a scorer as Redd.
  23. Very hot? They lost six of seven coming into this series.
  24. He's probably the fifth best pitcher in his own division. Lincecum, Billingsley, Haren and Webb.
  25. So yeah, I was talking to my brother earlier today about this game. I mentioned this is Swarzak's first major league start so he'll probably pitch seven shutout innings. I wish I used my powers for good instead of evil, although I'm not sure that was power since I'm guessing a lot of other Brewers' fans predicted seven shutout innings for Swarzak too.
