  1. Pretty obvious that he was distracted by bugs like Joba Chamberlain was. Problem was, there was no bug spray.
  2. So the Brewers get worse just to save $6 million this year? I would hate to have Igawa added, the guy just isn't very good. Let the Yankees keep that mistake.
  3. Haudricourt said that they were talking about adding Hall to the deal, but the Yankees wanted the Brewers to take Igawa and pay some of Hall's salary so they said forget it and just took Hall out of the deal.
  4. I think the Cubs offer is a little underestimated, because Sean Marshall is underestimated as a pitcher. Except the Cubs never put him on the table. Link Any chance the Brewers could get in on him yet, or is it basically certain he will not accept a trade to Milwaukee? After the comments made yesterday by his agent, I think it's possible he would accept a trade. Link So it sounds to me like they want Towers to go out there and look for offers from all teams. They'll then decide if Peavy wants to go there.
  5. Uhh, there's already a ton of empty seats. They're lucky to draw 14,000 for a weekend game.
  6. This was by far my biggest problem this offseason and why I thought this team would be bad. You absolutely cannot try to win and build for the future at the same time in the NBA. What you end up getting is a 30-37 win team that lacks young assets to provide hope for the future, it lacks cap space because the veterans that are trying to win now are taking up a large portion of that space and you're not going to be bad enough to get a top lottery pick.
  7. Interesting. Whelan has much better stuff, but Cox has better control. If we had the choice I'd probably take Whelan.
  8. http://www.nj.com/yankees...ewers_trade_in_peril.html Also said the Brewers were "incensed" when the Yankees asked for money. Can't blame them, if I was Melvin I would've ended all talks now and in the future immediately after the Yankee$ asked for money.
  9. People always mention this but fail to mention the raises coming to Fielder, Hardy, Hart, Weeks, Bush, Suppan and Hall.
  10. Nady's definitely going to be in one of the corner outfield spots.
  11. Depends on who they think the real Corey Hart is. If they think it's the one from 2007, then I would agree. If they think it's the one from 2008, why would they give up anything when they have guys who are no worse? If they think it's somewhere in between, then it's iffy, but my main point was they would never give up Cain for Hart and you agree.
  12. No way the Giants do that trade. They have Ishikawa who is basically Nelson at first and an outfield that consists of Lewis/Rowand/Winn currently with Schierholtz waiting for an oppurtunity. Hart isn't a need for them.
  13. No Garland please. That's another Suppan waiting to happen. Sheets is obviously my first choice to sign. If not him, then Johnson. After that I'd probably go with Paul Byrd. Not a flashy signing, but I don't trust Gallardo for 200 innings after he pitched about 40 last year. He could probably be had for a one year deal which would be fine.
  14. Yes. All comp picks that are not surrendered by a team are between the 1st and 2nd round.
  15. I think you overvalue KC's players I think you undervalue them. Greinke is huge here, but there was a rumor of a Francoeur/Greinke swap That rumor (which was ridiculous from the start) was shot down yesterday.
  16. No, maybe instead of plowing 90% of the snow on my side of the street, they plow it 50/50 on each side so I'm not stuck shoveling five foot drifts on the front of my driveway while everybody across the street only gets a foot.
  17. Updated the title since two outlets are now reporting 7 years $160 million.
  18. No trade clause.
  19. They've always been terrible by me. I would say probably 85% of the snow on the roads gets plowed to my side of the street which leaves huge drifts in the front of the driveway which are a pain in the ass to shovel. The worst part is when you're shoveling down there and they come through and plow you up even more. Swearing and throwing snowballs at the truck feels good the first couple of times, but it wears off after a while.
  20. Think again. Kendall started 143 and 150 games in Oakland when Macha was the manager.
  21. Here's the article. I really don't see the Brewers moving any of the players the writer mentions (maybe Gillespie), but I don't see us moving Fielder, Hardy or our top prospects for Putz. He mentions Morrow, but the main guy is Putz and I don't like Morrow enough to move Hardy, Fielder or top prospects to get him and Putz.
  22. I believe the initial rumors of Fielder for Putz started with the beat writer for a Seattle paper. Not exactly shocking considering how lopsided that deal is for the Mariners.
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com...758366&type=blogEntry Who did we get from the Tigers for Prince?
