  1. That comments section was brutal. Putz for Fielder straight up! Putz and Washburn for Fielder, it's a great deal for both sides! Ugh.
  2. When I was listening, they weren't talking about trades or free agents. At least that wasn't the main topic. The main topic was your favorite/most memorable moments of the season, then they had the Hart interview and then Sparky whined about how Hardy and Hart and pretty much every other Brewer except for Braun was in trade rumors but Weeks wasn't.
  3. One of our posters InsomniakInkRoss is on right now. Edit: Congrats on your engagement, Ross! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Corey Hart is going to be on in the next hour. Hope they ask him about his plate discipline (or lack thereof) and what he meant about his "not taking a walk" comments towards the end of the year.
  5. I like baseball, I grew up in the Milwaukee area. The Brewers were the natural choice. Probably happened in 1992 or 1993.
  6. Yeah, we should start climbing, might not make it in this week. We got one vote in the USA Today poll last week. We got 72 votes in the USCHO/CBS poll. 22nd in that poll, St. Cloud State was ahead of us and they swept Minnesota State this weekend and Alaska was ranked 20th and they lost to Nebraska-Omaha in a shootout on Friday and beat them in a shootout Saturday.
  7. Yep. We're the smallest media market in baseball. It doesn't matter if our payroll goes up, stays the same or goes down, unless we get a huge population surge before next April, we're still going to be a small market.
  8. Ham Fighters, sounds like they're against it.
  9. I guess, but in essence you're putting the same team on the field that played horrible, horrible baseball for the final 5 weeks of the season and took a dump in the playoffs. It's also the same team that was 20-7 in August and at one point was 24 games over .500. You have an allstar shortstop now, so why are you so unwilling to trade the other one to fill a glaring need in the rotation? What if teams are offering what he doesn't feel is a fair return for either? Would you like him to do it anyway, just because we haven't done much yet? So far the major signing has been a reliever who couldnt even hold a roster spot last season until they expanded in September. Nice. What did we do last year before the winter meetings? Trade Estrada for Mota. That's pretty much it.
  10. No they weren't. It was 5-4 Twins, Santana was taken out, Crain came in, Fielder pinch hit and hit the homer off of Crain to make it 7-5.
  11. It actually gave them a two run lead. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Brewers ZiPS projections They're pretty pessimistic on Parra for some reason. I think their Villanueva projection is too pessimistic as well if he's coming out of the bullpen.
  13. I don't see how downgrading from Hardy to Young helps us. It's not like Young is a left handed hitter.
  14. Plus/minus had him rated at +19. Third in the majors behind Yunel Escobar (+21) and Jimmy Rollins (+23). He was middle of the pack to slightly below in RZR but he was first in out of zone plays on The Hardball Times with 72.
  15. Because they suck to carry in and they suck when the needles fall off. Basically they just suck.
  16. I'm guessing they offered Sanchez and that's when Melvin came out and said a team has offered "a fifth starter" for Hardy.
  17. Link That's an insane bargain. I hope Melvin looks into it.
  18. Link Seems like the White Sox are going into a rebuilding mode. Pretty nice haul for Vazquez imo.
  19. Am I the only one who thinks Derek Holland is way too low on that list? I would have him in the 21-30 range. He's right there with Neftali Feliz imo.
  20. If we did sign him I'm guessing the lineup would go Weeks/Abreu/Braun/Fielder/Hardy 1-5.
  21. Not signing with the Padres has nothing to do with them thinking he has nothing left. The owner of the Padres is going through a divorce and there are going to be big time payroll cuts in San Diego. That's why they didn't offer arby, for fear he would take it when they're trying to cut payroll.
  22. You're in luck because the Padres didn't offer him arby.
