  1. Bill Hall = worst baserunner ever. Seriously.
  2. Being gritty. That much is obvious.
  3. These FSN Wisconsin Sports Anchor things at the State Fair are hilariously awful.
  4. Not really. These situations are completely different. Sheets is going to free agency where anybody can put in a bid. Haren was still under the D'Backs control for two more years after this one.
  5. Braun's was about six rows back. It went out by way more than 10 feet, that's for sure. It was just a terrible camera angle and it didn't help that people in the first row acted like they were going to catch it.
  6. 2B Rickie Weeks SS Craig Counsell LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Bill Hall CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall RHP Jeff Suppan I hate you Ned.
  7. They say the deal is worth $41.25M over four years. So he was going to be paid $12.25M over the next two years, so it would be $29M over two years. Still, you don't think this is a good deal? He's still being paid below market value throughout the whole deal (unless you think he's the same as Jeff Suppan.) I just don't see this as some huge risk. It's not like they're paying him $15-17M a year with this, the average is a little over $10M.
  8. They're giving him a $2M raise next year and a $1.5M raise in 2010. Hardly something to get worked up about and hardly something that will prevent them from making other moves. Honestly, if this is a terrible deal for the Diamondbacks then what the hell is our deal with Suppan called?
  9. No it's not. It's a 2 year $25.5M extension with a $15.5M club option.
  10. I just looked through the game logs. I could have added wrong but it looks like we're 19-14 in games Counsell starts and 18-16 in games Branyan starts. Of course there were a couple of games where Branyan technically started but was taken out for a pinch hitter that we ended up losing. So I counted those. But still, you could at least make a case for Counsell starting a game or two over Weeks against a tough righty. Starting Counsell at third over Branyan is just stupid.
  11. Not me. I could really care less what players do on homers. Of course if a player does it against your team it's annoying, but really, I completely forgot about Soriano and Ramirez walking out of the box on their doubles.
  12. I would say that's overly optimistic.
  13. That was great. He was thrown up and in twice in that at bat. If he wants to watch that bomb fly out, I have no problem with it.
  14. While he may have thrown too many innings early in his career I don't see how they're paying him like a #1 or #2 starter and I don't see how he's a solid #3 with only #2 potential. Over the next four years he'll be making $41.25 million and they'll have a $15.5 million club option. So basically Jeff Suppan money, I don't see how that is being paid like an ace. As far as his peripherals go, he's pitched 599.1 innings the past two + years and 3.38 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 7.65 K/9 and 1.86 BB/9. His FIPs have been solid over the past two + years as well at 4.12, 3.70 and 2.78. I think this is a fantastic deal for the Diamondbacks.
  15. It's a little rude to be talking about Ned and the buck.
  16. I hate to say this because I don't normally think of a quality start as a good stat (how is 6 IP 3 ER a quality start and 8 IP 4 ER not?) but anyways, Bush is averaging 6.3 innings per start and has a 4.50 ERA. Pretty much a quality start (actually a little better since he's going more than 6 innings on average) on average for Bush.
  17. That was totally awesome by Prince. Come up and in twice and I'll take you out and watch it.
  18. Volquez pitched 5 innings and threw 60 strikes. Bush threw 5 innings and had 59 pitches total.
  19. There's really only one explanation for Counsell playing so much and batting 6th when he's playing 3rd. Ned Yost is insane.
  20. I was just coming to post the same thing. They said they're going to give him the benefit of the doubt and that they hope he didn't really mean what he said but clearly they don't know Yost like we do. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. Volquez is due to have a bad game, right? *grasping at straws*
  22. I <3 Ron Santo.
