  1. I think they want to get rid of salary and I don't think they'd have room in the outfield with Francoeur, Jones, Diaz, Johnson and Langerhans. Maybe TGJ and Zach Jackson or Dana Eveland.
  2. Maybe I offered to much but I didn't want to offer too little. His value may be down and if we take on his contract we may be able to get him for less.
  3. www.ajc.com/sports/conten...udson.html Would you be interested in the Brewers picking him up? He's 31 and makes $6M in 2007 and $13M in 2008 and 2009. And if you are interested do you think Eveland, Inman and TGJ would be enough to get him?
  4. Depends on where he goes. If he goes to Philly I'd guess they'd keep Rollins at SS and keep A-Rod at 3rd. My god could you imagine if he did go to Philly? That's an incredible infield 1B- Howard 2B- Utley SS- Rollins 3B- A-Rod. WOW!
  5. LOL, I totally forgot about that.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. I think the Yanks should look elsewhere if they want to trade A-Rod. They could get a lot more than Pat Burrell.
  7. Now I was looking at some suggestions that some brought up for pitching and outfield help and I thought I'd combine a couple for what I think would be a playoff team but still allow financial flexibility because of the short term deals. STARTERS: 1. Hart $329,000 2. Hardy $355,000 3. Fielder $329,000 4. Hall $3,000,000 5. Dunn $10,500,000 6. Weeks $500,000 7. Koskie $2,000,000 8. Miller $2,250,000 Total: $19,263,000 BENCH: Gross $335,000 Clark $3,800,000 Graffanino $2,500,000 Cirillo $950,000 Rivera $327,000 Total: $7,912,000 STARTING PITCHERS: 1. Sheets $10,000,000 2. Garcia $10,000,000 3. Capuano $2,500,000 4. Bush $352,000 5. Villanueva $327,000 Total: $23,179,000 BULLPEN: Cordero $5,000,000 Turnbow $2,300,000 Borowski $2,000,000 Wise $1,000,000 Shouse $1,000,000 Capellan $330,000 Sarfate $327,000 Total: $11,957,000 TOTAL PAYROLL: $62,311,000 -Trade Mench, Hendrickson and Jackson for Dunn -Trade Jenkins for Garcia -Re-sign Graffanino 2 years $5,500,000 -Sign Borowski 2 years $4,500,000
  8. For those wondering about Dunn's stats at Miller Park. Since 2002: .209 BA/.381 OBP/.405 SLG%/.786 OPS/6 HR's/16 RBI's/42 BB's/2 HBP/52 K's/5 SB/0 CS This is 158 AB's since 2002.
  9. The option is eliminated if he's traded.
  10. Yankees won't give up Hughes so you could probably just take out Hughes and Inman/Rogers.
  11. My God I just drooled all over myself thinking of a Crawford, Hall, Hart outfield. So does anything think it's possible for a Jenkins/Garcia trade straight up or would we have to add someone?
  12. I'm not asking this for the Brewers sake but there's a bunch of idiotic Cubs fans on another board that think they can get Soriano for 3 years $45 million plus an option for a 4th year at $18 million. So basically if they pick up his option he's getting 4 years $63 million. Do you think he'll get more years and money per year?
  13. Okay I'll try this without Soriano (much to the relief of many of you) so I hope you guys like it.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Lineup: 1. Hart $329,000 2. Hardy $355,000 3. Fielder $329,000 4. Hall $3,000,000 5. Koskie $2,000,000 6. Weeks $500,000 7. Jenkins $7,000,000 8. Miller $2,250,000 Bench: Cirillo $900,000 Clark $3,800,000 Rivera $327,000 *Graffanino $2,000,000 Gross $355,000 Starting Pitchers: 1. Sheets $10,000,000 **2. Schmidt $13,000,000 3. Capuano $2,500,000 4. Bush $352,000 5. Villanueva $327,000 Bullpen: Cordero $5,000,000 Turnbow $2,300,000 Wise $1,000,000 Capellan $330,000 Shouse $1,000,000 Sarfate $327,000 ***Borowski $1,500,000 *re-signed 2 years $4,500,000 **signed 4 years $52,000,000 ***signed 2 years $3,500,000 TOTAL PAYROLL: $60,781,000 Now if there's a lefty pitcher we could put Clark in LF and move Hart to RF. Otherwise the outfield would be Hart LF, Hall CF, Jenkins RF. FLAME AWAY!
  14. Go Tigers and Cardinals!
  15. To be honest I'd rather have Davis and Villanueva at the back end of the rotation over Maddux.
  16. Sheets has a full no trade clause through 2007 and can only be traded to 8 teams in 2008 who knows if the Yankees are one of those teams.
  17. I would in a second.
  18. You know the Yankees are so desperate for pitching help they may be willing to trade A-Rod and $10 million for Turnbow.
  19. Wow Bonderman is filthy. 40 pitches through 5 innings. Hard to believe he's a 4 year veteran yet will turn only 24 in 3 weeks.
  20. 3-0 Tigers in the 2nd. A solo shot by Ordonez and a 2-run homer from Monroe.
  21. Doesn't this just say it all? Baseball needs a cap, the Yankees can have Giambi sit out a game and they still have the best lineup in the majors. Damon Matsui Sheffield Rodriguez Jeter Abreu Giambi Cano Posada Assuming they pick up Sheffield's option (doubtful but possible) they have $190,784,175 commited to 18 players next year. I thought sports was all about an even playing field but then I look at the Yankees spending money on whoever they want.
  22. Yeah I have a feeling this is what's going to happen. Corey Hart- "I didn't know the 80's heartthrob singer played baseball." Richie Weeks- self explanatory Cecil Fielder- self explanatory J.J. Hardy- "I wonder what J.J. stands for?" Ryan Brown- self explanatory...yes I know it's Braun but the announcers would say "Brown"
  23. You better hope San Diego comes back to take the lead or you may not hear Hell's Bells for a while.
  24. So far 0-1, 1 K, 1 LOB
  25. I hope it's soon. Come on what sports franchise has gone 24 years without one playoff appearance?
