  1. Sarge Jr. 3-4 years $27-36 million Julio Lugo 4 years $36 million Jeff Weaver 3 years $30 million Randy Wolf 3 years $21-24 million Dave Roberts 2-3 years $5.5-9 million The only one on that list I would want is Roberts.
  2. I'll pass on corky. If we're going to be going after 40 year old outfielders I'd much rather go after Moises Alou.
  3. If I knew Perez was the real deal at SS I'd have no problems giving them Hardy and a pitching prospect for Wells. However I don't know if Perez is the real deal and with the likelihood of Wells leaving after 2007 it would be a HUGE mistake on the Brewers part to give up the farm for this guy.
  4. We should move Milwaukee to the west coast.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. If he were 27 he'd totally be out of the question and nobody would be discussing it. Since he's older he's likely to get less years and less money than if he were 27.

  7. He's not better than anyone we have. I'd rather spend money on something we NEED.
  8. Nothing too surprising really. I expect Graffanino to go someplace where he can get more playing time though I'd love to have he and Cirillo back.
  9. I am now going to propose the most unrealistic challenge to date. Now don't say I didn't warn you.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif LINEUP: 1. Roberts $2,500,000 (signed 2 years $5 million) 2. Crawford $4,000,000 (trade Gallardo to get him) 3. Weeks $500,000 4. Fielder $382,000 5. Hart $382,000 6. Hardy $408,000 7. Koskie $2,000,000 8. Miller $2,250,000 BENCH: Gross $388,000 Clark $3,800,000 Cirillo $1,000,000 Gwynn Jr. $380,000 Rivera $380,000 STARTING LINEUP: 1. Sheets $10,000,000 2. Peavy $4,750,000 (trade Hall and Eveland or Jackson) 3. Capuano $3,000,000 4. Bush $425,000 5. Davis $5,000,000 BULLPEN: Cordero $5,500,000 Turnbow $2,300,000 Wise $1,000,000 Shouse $1,250,000 Capellan $383,000 Sarfate $380,000 Villanueva $380,000 TOTAL PAYROLL: $52,738,000 -Trade Jenkins for whatever we can get. Now I'm going to go to bed and make my dreams come true and then possibly make it happen on X-Box tomorrow.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. If it's true it's a hell of a deal for the Cardinals. Why the hell would the Yankees want Rolen? They need more pitching, not more offense.
  11. If he gets a Carlos Beltran contract...grand larceny.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Well he's 29 don't know if that's young. And he's averaged about 27 starts the past 3 years and only pitched 115.1 innings and 147 innings in 2004 and 2005 respectively. In fact he hasn't been very good the past 3 years, although he did pitch at Citizens Bank Park and Ameriquest Field. Still I don't want him. Past 3 years average stats: 27 starts/4.57 ERA/1.41 WHIP/180 BB's/341 K's
  13. Love the ideas sbrylski06. Just a question though, don't players salaries go up in the new CBA? Players like Fielder, Capellan, Hardy etc. making more money? I don't think it'd make a huge difference in total payroll I'm just wondering. I wish I knew what the negotiations with Hall for the extension were last year. Would he accept 3/16 or would he want more after this year?
  14. Forgot to add Sheets has a full no trade clause through 2007 and can only be traded to 8 teams in 2008 so this deal is impossible...as are all other Sheets deals this year and most next year.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. I've been thinking about the Mench and Jenkins situation and the more I think about it the more I wouldn't mind having them platoon in left field. I was curious so I looked at the stats for both against lefties and righties respectively over the past four years. I was surprised at how good they were and I wouldn't mind a platoon of those two at $10M. .302/.377/.541/.918/26 HR's/85 RBI's/54 BB's/93 K's in an average of 498.5 AB's. Put them in LF, Hall in CF and Hart in RF. I think that would be solid production from the outfield.
  16. I would be so PO'ed if that deal happened.
  17. They HAVE to be the top two. You get Yoyo at the top of the power 50. Okay I'm done with corny jokes. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Great signing for the Crew!
  18. My bet: He stays with the Giants.
  19. I don't think ANYBODY hates him. I would like him a lot more if he was CONSISTENT throughout the year. This year he started off fine (hit .290 Ba .843 OPS) but from May to August he hit only .236/.325/.352/.677/6 HR's/45 RBI's/34 BB's/87 K's in 318 AB's. That's just horrendous. The fact that this would save us $4M is a plus, Hart could play RF and we could trade for a power hitting left fielder.
  20. Again Wells is a free agent after 2007. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have him patrolling centerfield at Miller Park but I wouldn't give up the farm for him when he'll likely seek a big contract in free agency.
  21. I am too, I am also wondering what free agents the team is "zeroing in" on. As far as Kevin Mench, I thought I heard somewhere the Twins had interest in him. Maybe they'll give us Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano and Joe Mauer for Kevin Mench and Doug Davis.
  22. Is that so? So if I say Bill Hall is better than Chris Barnwell some will disagree.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. I think everybody on this board would love Wells but the problem is he only has one year left on his deal. The main problem between some on this board is don't give up too much to get him because he can bolt after this year. Now if we could somehow have a deal in place where he would sign an extension if he was traded here then I'd be all for it and would probably give up Hardy, Eveland and someone else to get him.
  24. Well then this begs the question is he worth bringing back at a price tag of at least $2.2M if he's only gets 150-200 AB's. In my opinion no.
  25. I hope he's not back and I hope Melvin can find somebody via trade or free agency to put in left field. He has never hit well out of Ameriquest and his numbers prove that. .256/.307/.435/.742/36 HR's/126 RBI's/61 BB's/137 K's in 930 AB's I would hope Melvin could find someone better but if he can't I'd rather just have a Hart/Hall/Jenkins outfield.
