  1. Woo hoo! Got busy at work and figured the game was over and here I see that we actually scored in the 9th inning! Huge win today and great job by Gagne to hold the lead!
  2. I'm most looking forward to Cameron's defense in CF. He is a definite upgrade from Gwynn/Kapler offensively and defensively, though Kapler filled in quite nicely for April. He's not going to SOLV our offensive WOAHs but I think he will make some key plays in CF and have some key ABs in crucial situations. If Weeks starts to hit, watch out.
  3. 16-13. The gap between Cubs & Brewers stays about the same and the Brewers and Cards end up with the same exact record by June 1.
  4. Sorry Derrick, but you've really done this to yourself. Turnbow = unemployed by May 10
  5. I guess if Mark A wanted to overpay to land Soup that was his prerogative as long he isn't shy to loosen the purse strings just because of Suppan's contract. I agree though that Suppan's contract will look silly somewhat soon, especially if the FA market money fluctuates back down. I bet we could get rid of him at the deadline in 09 to some injury-plagued playoff contending team but would likely see little return and money going to said team.
  6. I wouldn't consider it an even playing field since all managers have different hitters and pitchers.
  7. I'm glad that our manager doesn't use our best reliever with an 8-run lead.
  8. I thought this was good for a laugh if you like Will Arnett: http://youtube.com/watch?v=36lfTfTuj9g
  9. Yes, I was most certainly kidding. I suppose I should've put it in blue, but I thought it'd be obvious that this one wouldn't be Yost's fault.
  10. Off to a hot start. Yosted again!
  11. I think Counsell is being used just as he should. Spot starts and pinch hitting if we need someone to get on base in a late-inning situation. I'd also like to have Branyan up instead of Gwynn, considering most of our regular starters will never need a pinch runner and Cameron will start about 9 out of 10 games I'd guess. Kapler can back up CF. I'd like Gwynn to become a better hitter and the best way to do that is regular ABs.
  12. Last year I brought a group of about 20-25 friends (about half Twins fans - half Brewer fans) to the Friday Saturday games and about 8 to the Sunday game. If anyone was there last year you may remember the cheesehead being thrown from the top deck: that was one of ours, thrown over by a Twins fan. I loved the "Let's Go Brewers" chants that eventually were drowned out by Twins fans booing. Hopefully the Crew can get 2 of 3 there again this year. We'll be there again this year most likely just in the general admission section. Last season we were in foul territory down the LF line; I'd be glad to meet up with anyone or at least just say hi, and we usually go out in downtown Minne after at least the Saturday night game if you don't mind hanging with a bunch of twentysomethings that like to drink tremendous amounts of beer!
  13. Seriously... how good has our starting pitching been?
  14. Yeah Dillon is there, can't forget that. But Branyan would be the next logical option, I don't understand why it's big deal since he's in AAA and unlikely to get much MLB time unless there are injuries. He's a nice 4th option to have.
  15. he has absolutely no value to the Brewers. What if Hall goes down? Would you like Counsell starting every day with no backup? Or see if Mat Gamel can do his best Ryan Braun impression at the hot corner?
  16. Can we get a mustachio'd Carlos picture? That ought to bring some killer juju.
  17. Before the Apr 6 game I consumed 4 bratwursts before 10am. Awesome. I'm calling Hart and Braun homers tonight in a wipeout!
  18. straight from the CBS "Gloggers", stated as fact: "They walk Braun to put the double play into effect, but instead Fielder flys one to center for the RBI flyout. Since becoming a vegetarian in the off season, Prince has lost his luster at the plate."
  19. 2 foot tall half man-half pig creature that lives beneath the home dugout ManBearPig?!
  20. If Gagne is ready to go, I don't think Yost should be bashful about using him. Gagne is ours for one season; we might as well use him up early and often; the more we see of Gagne the more we'll know about how reliable he'll be during the later stages of the season. By then Mota could be closing. Or Torres. We obviously want Gagne around for the stretch run but if he says he's ready to go Yost shouldn't have to exercise as much restraint.
  21. Hopefully the boys show up to win today, it's all too easy to lay an egg on getaway day after already winning the series. In mourning of today's demotion, I will revive my Joe Dillon avatar. Come back soon Crazy Joe Dill-vola!
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3322356 Short interview but always nice to get a little pub.
  23. Gwynn is out OPS-ing Gross by over .800 points, how much more evidence do you need?!
  24. I'd list batting Kapler 2nd among Ned's successful decisions this year.
