  1. Every team ran the clock. wouldn't read into it. after each player was drafted, ESPN spent about 5 minutes talking about him and then the next pick was made or it went to commercial. this is a made for TV event.
  2. I wonder if the brewers will have to go overslot for Mitchel which could affect how they handle today. Brewers just need to go bpa. they have the worst rank system in baseball, they just need prospects.
  3. Was a regular on the site for a long time, been away for a while. Came back because I'm excited about this pick. And one of the first posts I see is this ignorant BS... good grief! Yes, saw his interview regarding it after his pick. Seems like he has figured out how to keep it under control and he has been dealing with it for 9 years. Non-issue Welcome back though
  4. ESPN compared him to Trea Turner. Obviously the upside is always less if you go college over high school, but I think they took the top player left on their board. I’m happy
  5. He wasn’t a player I was focusing on, because nobody had him around at 20. ESPN did have a lot of good stuff to say on, besides him being diabetic, but it doesn’t seem like a big deal. After reading a little about the player. I’m happy. Seems like a guy that can replace Cain in a few years.
  6. I was thinking the same thing. the NFL does this pretty well. To play all of these games the teams do. Draft 1st round below slot. draft 2nd and maybe 3rd well above and then draft easy signings through the 5th is pretty crazy.
  7. As far as predictions, I think Dingler, Beeter, or Wilcox are the 3 most likely.
  8. Maybe, I'm off base. I understand why the bonus pools were put into place, to prevent the Yankees from drafting every tough sign and throwing money at them. It does put every team on equal footing based on their draft positions. However, now with the shortened draft, it does seem a lot of players are going to go undrafted, with the "senior signs" that normally get drafted towards the back of the first 10 rounds, now going 4 and 5. Since, if undrafted, you can either sign or 20k max or go back to school if you can, it does seem the owners have gained more power in this draft. I don't know how you fix it. I don't want to go back to the bad old days where the rich got richer. Maybe do something similar to the NFL?
  9. I’d be happy with that. I heard the tigers were looking at him For their 2nd pick.
  10. agreed, if its such a strong college arm draft, lets try to get one that can help us in the near future. would be ok if they took their normal "up the middle" player that they are known for.
  11. I don't think it means much. He's not going to say, "I want my kids to grow up in San Francisco and be safe."
  12. my top 3 are: 1) field of dreams 2) major league 3) the sandlot just wondering what others thought, I have been watching them since there is no baseball.
  13. Mlbtraderumors ran their expansion draft today; Arica, Taylor and Healy were taken. Can’t say if this was real the brewers would be really hurt.
  14. Mlbtraderumors ran their expansion draft today; Arica, Taylor and Healy were taken. Can’t say if this was real the brewers would be really hurt.
  15. what I am unclear on is it 1 16 team tournament or is the traditional east and west playoffs?
  16. looks like 22 team season starting in July https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29260860/sources-nba-approve-plan-22-team-return-eight-regular-season-games Bucks would play 8 games before the playoffs, with no possible home field advantage. I wonder how the bucks would treat these games. You would think they would play the majority of them full bore.
  17. I think it benefits both the parent and minor league club to have long standing relationships. For example, in Milwaukee a decent amount of hockey fans are predators fans. If the admirals were switching affiliates every few years that wouldn't be the case. I hope the system can get fixed to avoid the affiliate dance every 2 years. Also if they can do better geographically, it would also be nice.
  18. I’d be surprised if San Antonio wasn’t retained, I have my concerns about Biloxi
  19. yes both are up for renewal. Brewers have a good relationship with S.A.'s ownership group but good chance that Rocky Mountain Vibes gets contracted. Biloxi seems happy with the brewers, but brewers minor league system is a shell of its former self and they do have a good facility.
  20. wouldn't the twins be all over that. Its the same distance from Milwaukee to st paul and Milwaukee to Indy, which is also up. I can't see that happening in 2021 anyway, since their ballpark is nowhere near triple a standards.
  21. anyway, the 15 I would protect is Cain (no trade) Yeli Hiura Woodruff Hader Lauer Houser Lindblom Garcia Peralta Ashby Feleciano Lutz Rasumuseen Urias
  22. I think they would be. my point was mlb trade rumors wasn't considering men not on the 40. just wanted to know the rules of the exercise.
  23. if the best team in the regular season wins the title, there is no asterisk. now if the Magic comes in at the #16 and manages to win it all somehow, then we can talk about that.
  24. I don't follow this that close, but this says Omaha is signed through 2022. https://ballparkdigest.com/200905261902/minor-league-baseball/news/affiliate-dance-2012 I personally like where the brewers are right now. I know San Antonio's park isn't the best, but it seemed like the first year with them went OK. Maybe my standards are not that high after all the years with the Sky Sox. If Indy, Louisville, or Toledo are up, they would be great moves though for the brewers. I just hope they can retain Biloxi.
  25. Article says we have to protect Cain is that the case? They also do not consider minor leagues with enough service time. From their article I vote: Yeli, Hiura, Woodruff, Hader, Navarez, Lauer, Houser, Peralta, Lindblom, Garcia, Suter, Burnes, Black, Cain, Urias obviously it would be different if guys like Ashby, Lutz, Feleciano and Rasmussen need to be protected.
