  1. I read estimates for Haase of 1.8-2 million, so this is a good deal for the brewers.
  2. based on the promotional flier, I think it will be a nice rebrand, but keeping the name made sense, since they are just moving down the road.
  3. announcing this a year in advance is a bold move, so everyone will be buying the new stuff and wearing it to the games this year when they still are the mudcats?
  4. Yes it was, but I'm glad that the student body didn't feel the need to storm the court after beating a top 10 team at home unlike another certain team 80 miles to the west . Its still just a non-conference game in November, but its still a quad 1 win.
  5. Purdue is not the same without Edey
  6. nope, pick coming back to Milwaukee. Brewers will make an offer to say that they did like they did with Prince and CC, but it wont be competitive.
  7. Adames rejects QO as expected. If he signs somewhere for more than 50MM total (a lock), brewers get a pick at the end of the 1st round as a revenue sharing team.
  8. I think keep it, it really should only be active in the offseason / trade deadline anyway....easier to separate rumors from actual moves.
  9. it would be nice if Pat would finalize his staff. Besides the the new hitting coaches and retaining Hook, its been crickets.
  10. Doesn't the Reds open up the season every year? I think we are just the first game on ESPN that day.
  11. Carolina Mudcats was a fine name. I’ll withhold judgment until next Friday but it’s if something very minor league like the Trash Panda’s I won’t be happy. I pick on them because that’s the most ridiculous minor league branding right now
  12. Yeah I’m surprised this didn’t come out until today. From the Facebook post it looks like a classic, old school look. I didn’t think there was any need since they are moving just down the road
  13. Wesley Matthews Jr is making his broadcast debut on FS1 for tonight's game!
  14. I agree with you per se, but there will be a payroll reduction this offseason, take 8 million off of the books for a player that won't be here in 2026. I think Stott has some value and allows Turang to shift over to short.
  15. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10142278-ranking-devin-williams-top-10-trade-landing-spots-after-brewers-option-declined I'm good with the Phil's or Mets trade mentioned.
  16. Wilson was decent and Zas had his moments. It’s going to be an interesting offseason. I think the Rhys decision is really hurting what can be done
  17. now the brewers will (most likely) have to go to arbitration with him and state all of the reasons brewers shouldn't pay him what he wants. I agree you don't pay players more than you have to, but saving 1.5 million for the best closer in baseball doesn't seem worth it ( I know, its not my money, but still)
  18. Yeah you probably don’t do this if you don’t plan to trade him. Moving him is the smart move. He has been great but they won’t resign him so see what you can get
  19. No Surprise, this was my concern when they signed him last offseason. If he did well, he used us to get a long term deal, if he struggled he gets paid 18 million in 25. The contract was massively in the players favor. https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1852412103652733211
  20. @nate82I get that, but about every pick has been bad. You should hit on one every once in a while. I wanted Dunn this last draft and he has been good so far. If he would just not swing for the fences every tike (like he did with DiVincenzo)
  21. very good point. I'd look at Spencer Allen or Matt Erickson to get the 1st base gig, knowing that the tendency is to promote from within rather than go outside with the staff.
  22. Beauchamp's 4th year option declined, adding to the list of failed draft picks under Horst. Since the majority of the picks that bucks have had the last few years and have the rest of the decade, they do not have control of, one of their biggest issues that their picks have been horrible. One could argue that the best (and only decent) pick Host has made during his time here is DiVincenzo. I understand that this is partially not fair due to the large amount of picks lost in the Bledsoe, Holiday and Dame trades, but you got to hit the ones you have. This is why added I along with the horrible coaching firing / hiring decisions wasn't going to be upset if Horst went to Detroit last offseason.
  23. I was worried that with no announcement and his contract expiring on Thursday he was north side bound.
  24. they made Counsell the highest paid manager, I am sure they will throw a ton of cash at Hook. He has a good track record of turning waiver claims or retreat players into more than serviceable. With the price of pitching he is worth his weight in gold.
  25. that's fair, but is 1 year of Williams worth about the same as 1 year , 2 months of Hader. He netted us a top pitching prospect and the prospect that got us the best catcher in the NL. EDIT: and yes I understand there is extra value of having a closer for 2 postseasons, rather than one, but you should get better than middling prospects for Williams.
