  1. I don't care about the middleton - kuzma part. Bucks passed on rookies that could help this year to get projects and then traded him for cap relief is what is frustrating. Dunn or Kolek among others would have helped day 1. Now we got another draft flop before anyone knows if Johnson can play or not.
  2. its been all down hill since Haslem came here.
  3. deal is done, includes a pick swap and bucks getting a 2nd. Awful move
  4. Bucks are working on a trade centered around Baldwin Jr / Kuzma coming here, Middleton / Johnson going to the wizards. This is an awful trade. Baldwin is a flop of a pick and Johnson never got a chance. Kuzma is slightly better than middleton at this point, but I think the season will be lost if they do that. https://x.com/JoshuaBRobbins/status/1887153457779429404
  5. basically, but even worse Payton was a rental that didn't want to be here.
  6. NO, the pirates tried to be cheap. Giving away season tickets cost you basically nothing. Also the point that you would have to pay sales taxes is a good one and doesn't get mentioned. Take the money, if the pirates wanted it so bad, they would have to shell out.
  7. I think there is still a place for message boards, well moderated. It’s more effective in season. To be honest, what is there to say? It’s sad. Most of the legendary moments of his career fans have heard dozens of times. I tried to post a few lesser famous ones, but I think that’s the issue
  8. We have all heard Bob’s legendary calls over the last day, but it was moments like this that set him above his peers.
  9. As I said before, these are the moves the brewers should be making. DFA'd someone that couldn't stay healthy and picked up a no risk lottery ticket. Wouldn't shock me to see JB back in Nashville anyway after he clears waivers.
  10. Of all of the Bob Uecker stories and tributes online over the last 24 hours, this is my favorite one and has been for a while. The way Artie Lange and Norm McDonald tells it is very NSFW, so I'll let the man of the hour tell it with the great Bob Costas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nrjvh4oFvg
  11. First of all, the obvious comment is that there will never be another Bob Uecker in Milwaukee. Franchises like the Dodgers, Tigers, Cubs, Cardinals that have there one legendary broadcaster are lucky, because its a rarity these days. Since I didn't have cable until I was in college and TV games on Ch 18 were far and few between, Bob Uecker was how I consumed baseball as a kid and learned to love this team and game. Obviously summers will never be the same and really the last part of my childhood is gone today. Uecker cutting down his schedule significantly, lessens the blow from a gameday standpoint as we have been accolated with Levering and Grindle and to a lesser extent Mauer. It would be very hard to have a fresh play by play guy to come in and work a full 162 games. Its just a sad day, that we all knew was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier.
  12. So as of now, the only 2 that didn't avoid arbitration is Contreras and Mears (source: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/01/2025-arbitration-tracker.html) Brewers Nestor Cortes (5.094): $7.6MM agreement today (per Murray) Aaron Civale (5.058): $8MM agreement today (per Murray) Joel Payamps (4.027): $2.995MM agreement today (per Murray) Eric Haase (3.159): $1.35MM agreement reached in November William Conteras (3.112): Nick Mears (3.022): Trevor Megill (3.002): $1.94MM agreement reached today (per Murray)
  13. @endaround he hit .250 with 10 homers. Seems like mlb average to me
  14. Seems like a lot for a failed 27 year old prospect I wouldn’t be happy if the brewers traded last years third and basically a first
  15. I would imagine that this is a guy that the brewers liked at one time and think they can improve his stats. Having an option is a bonus
  16. Tonight was Marquettes best game to date in my humble opinion. If they can play d like that and convert their steals into points they can play with anyone in March. While they only shot 30 % on 3’s, making 11 helped.
  17. @sveumrulesthat was my first reaction too. Looking at athlons trade, it fails the ESPN trade calculator anyway. Actually I can't figure out a way to make a trade for McCollum work....
  18. I see a lot of online rumors that the bucks would be favorited to land CJ McCollum if New Orleans moves him. I think thats a good move for milwaukee, but would cost Middleton / Picks. In a possible trade, New Orleans could send McCollum and Daniel Theis to Milwaukee for Kris Middleton, MarJon Beauchamp and draft capital. https://athlonsports.com/nba/new-orleans-pelicans/bucks-emerge-as-favorite-for-pelicans-c-j-mccollum-if-they-decide-to-move-him#:~:text=If the Pelicans were to,on the Portland Trail Blazers.
  19. There are much bigger reasons than the Brewers on why there was a tax increase. Since this is a politics free board, I'll leave it there. The truth is what players pay in income taxes exceeds the states investment in the team.
  20. I don't think Cortes is a long term answer. Plus the price for guys like him on the open market is still crazy. I think this was to balance salaries and the brewers wanted some help in the rotation for 2025.
  21. I wanted an Adames replacement in return for Williams if they moved him. While I cannot say he will be a starting Middle Infielder on opening day, they have a guy who has a decent chance to play 2nd or SS for the brewers in New York. To get a year of Cortes is bonus. Depending on how Woodruff returns from injury and if Myers can keep up last years shocking improvement, he fits in #3 or #4 in the rotation which isn't cheap to get on the open market.
  22. not sure why brewer fans would be anxious. very little transpired this week. Besides losing out on Crochet, brewers are status quo with 2 months until pitchers and catchers report. They are fine.
  23. 6'8" lefty with a 25.6% strikeout rate. If the brewers can improve on his 10.9% walk rate, they may have something here.
  24. seems worth the low risk of a rule v pick. he wouldn't be the first guy to figure things out in his mid 20's. Also brewers can see what they can do in the lab. It would be more interesting to see why the cards didn't protect him, since they are very good at developing pitchers as well.
  25. brewers take connor thomas from the cards, lhp passed in round 2.
