  1. brewercrewin2004, i think the brewers could take an ex-manager and do well, like the bucks did with skiles. who that is I'm not sure. personally as I posted before I'd like to see an aaa manager like wallach.
  2. hiring a re-tread can work out. the last 2 times the bucks were good they had a retread coach in karl and skiles. I think if you find someone that has had success in the past and maybe lost their team but learned from it, it can work out. That being said who the mlb equivalent of those guys are besides valentine, I'm not sure who that would be.
  3. i think thats only because of 1250's reports. i agree it would suck, but I'll believe Melvin when he says he is not a candidate at this time.
  4. from doug russel of 1250 (take it for what its worth) A baseball source tells me that the Brewers and Bob Brenly are close to an agreement for Brenly to become the next Brewers manager. Brenly told me within the hour he has "nothing to say right now" on the matter. Stay tuned to Sports Radio 1250 WSSP for more information.
  5. I wasn't thinking about Randy Ready, i think he would be a good choice. i think they need to go with a young fiery manager, pretty much a ned yost that knows how to handle a pitching staff and doesn't mess with the lineup.
  6. well Torre has the same problem as macha, but has more success to back him up. Its possible he may want to end in Milwaukee since he said he wouldn't go to NY Mets after campaigning for the job before Manual was let go.
  7. I'd like to see what tim allen has come up with as his top 5, but these 3 lists are weak. I usually like Sparky's views, but Guillen is not even a candidate and there is no indication that LaRussa is available. Sparky's Big List 1. Bobby Valentine 2. Tony LaRussa 3. Ozzie Guillen 4. Joe Torre 5. Ryne Sandberg Josh's Big List 1. Tony LaRussa 2. Joey Cora 3. Ryne Sandberg 4. Mike Quade 5. Bob Brenly Ramie's Big List 1. Fredi Gonzalez 2. Bob Brenly 3. Pat Listache 4. Bobby Valentine 5. Ryne Sandberg http://www.sportsradio1250.com/pages/4771284.php mine would be: 1: Tim Wallach 2. Joe Torre3. Dale Sveum 4. Pat Listach 5. Bob Melvin
  8. don't want Brenley at all. He almost messed up a world series where he had Schilling and Johnson in the rotation. also i doubt there is much of a list right now, so i don't put too much credit towards names being mentioned until we start hearing about people he is bringing in to interview.
  9. I'm hoping the announcement is made that his option won't be picked up. My choices are in order (from names being mentioned): 1. Tim Wallach 2. Joe Torre 3. Bob Melvin 4. Pat Listach by the way the fact that listach is being mentioned as a managerial candidate makes me feel so old.
  10. 125, could remember how to spell some. couldn't believe i missed some. I somehow missed Burnitz.
  11. Attanasio was on TV yesterday and mentioned how strong the brewers were up the middle and mentioned, escobar, lucroy and cain, but neglected weeks. doubt that was by mistake.
  12. just found a new one that has entered my weekly rountine, for fans of the sklar brothers or cheap seats, they have a weekly podcast thats pretty good http://www.earwolf.com/show/sklarbro-country
  13. Outside of switching 1 and 2, I would agree with you. Bruan's gets extra points for me because i was there.
  14. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/102166564.html to me it seems like a simple decision. #1 Ryan Braun's wild card clinching home run #2 Cecil Coppers game winning ALCS hit. #3 Dale Svuem's Easter Sunday Miracle. If i had a 4th choice I'd go with Robin's 3000th hit, but doesn't get to go on the top 3 because we all knew he'd do it, it was just when.
  15. The Indians are my favorite AL team so probably them. I still think that depending on the circumstances of the brewers move i'd still follow them. Since I follow these players from draft day on, I just don't see me stopping if the brewers left. Of course I haven't had a team relocate on me so I can't be sure of that.
  16. well Riske wasn't playing so its a wash nor will he take time from Cain. This saves one of his options which may help his trade value (if he has any left) in the winter. If nothing else he can pinch run for us instead of forcing Bush to do it.
  17. although i haven't listened to it in a while counting crows "august and everthing after"
  18. Gallon looked lost in the summer league which only means he is really not ready to be on an active roster. A few years in Europe is probably his best option. Its too bad Hobson got hurt before and i didn't get to see him in action.
  19. tiny was already looking into options in Europe. haven't heard anything on Hobson, but this move should guarantee him a trip to the d-league.
  20. I think Sveum would be an excellent choice. I would take him over the 3 finalists for the job the last time the brewers had a managerial opening. I would be shocked if Macha was back next year. There really are no great experienced managerial candidates out there, so you can either bring in a rookie manager from outside the organization or a retread. I'd love to see Freddie Gonzalez but hes most likely going to Atlanta. also it will be hard to get a quality candidate as there will be a few high profile managerial openings next year including the cubs, dodgers, and possibly the mets.
  21. Now Hoffman and Counsell for similar return. side note but thats the first thing that came into my mind on saturday night of why Hoffman would come in when Axford was available.
  22. i like the trade since it makes Cain the everyday CF. I wonder what the corresponding move will be since Dickerson is on the DL. Gamel would be nice but I don't want him just to sit up here while he is playing decent in Nashville. EDIT: never mind looks like he could join the brewers as early as tonight. no move needed.
  23. Got my tickets! Very excited in spite of the fact that it's at The Rave... i know that part sucks. i thought my rave days were over but I guess i can make an exception.
