  1. i didn't have any expectations for him when we got him, so needless to say i was happy he was here. I think he really improved as a brewer, as he really only had one pitch which was a straight fastball when he got here and worked really hard to become a complete pitcher. best of luck to him.
  2. there so many good deals out there, no need to scalp for example monkeyman, tomorrow is guys night out so for 44 bucks you get 2 tickets, 2 beers, 2 glasses and a chance to meet energy. i always check this page http://www.nba.com/bucks/tickets/groups_index.html to see whats available before i go to the ticket office.
  3. the brewers were one of the more active teams, so not to include them is pretty silly. They also included teams that didn't make A move.
  4. yeah pam is hotter than erin (did you see blades of glory?), but erin is cute as well.
  5. my favorite line was "and when they need my help because i am ruining everything, don't look at me" i agree many good one liners in this one.
  6. this definitely makes the hawkins singing look bad
  7. i like this with respect to it puts a bunch of former closers in the pen. The problem with the pen in the past is that there was no depth. People are now complaining that we have too much depth. Last year went bad when they were forced to try to go to the minors to fill pitching spots and they had nobody to go to. Im suprised by this though because i did read somewhere that the astros were looking at making him their closer, so im guess we had to overpay to get him to setup. Also if the brewers need a closer in '11, he will be an OK option.
  8. i'll put it here instead of starting a new thread but hot stove weekly starts tomorrow on 1250 at 7.
  9. thats right, i forgot they got him to sign a 3 year deal out of college.
  10. yeah the '11 offseason could be promising, as the bucks will loose 2 huge albatross contracts and really have no huge commitments of players who are not contributing. Hopefully the bucks have the money to sign LRBM after this season. So far I like what Hammond has done, by not giving any big long term contracts because they seem to bite us in the behind every time.
  11. well recyclops was only there because nbc forced every episode to "go green" this week, which is why that out of place segment was there. Overall i agree it was pretty weak. I am going to hope it was only there to set up the 2nd half of the season.
  12. i'd be interested, i don't have a huge amount of memorabilia that i can donate though.
  13. Id like to see Redd go too because I know that once he comes back this week, the offense is going to slow down and have to go though him, and Bogut is not going to have that big of a roll in the offense has he has been having. I don't like Bell at the 2 spot either, but he seems to know his roll, which has kept the offense moving.
  14. thats the reason i wished they picked up loopers option. I know he gave up too many homers but say we give Randy Wolf a multi-year, multi-million dollars deal, does anyone think that he will be a significant upgrade over Looper.
  15. atleast we only have to face him 3 times next season.
  16. regarding previous drafts. I know the 07 was Harris's fault, but I wanted Corey Brewer over Yi. While the 08 draft was going on (doesn't look too good right now I know) but I was hoping for Bayless over Alexander. Looking a year ahead, Lopez should have been the pick.
  17. don't forget oscar attempting his southern accent. I agree Creed stole the show again. I agree with you guys on Erin too, she may be replacing Pam for me.
  18. you basically save 14 million in this deal. I hope this gets us a frontline starter somehow.
  19. doesn't look so, would have liked to alteast get a reliever out of this as well. Plus if escobar is the leadoff hitter, all we have is a player in the 8th hole at center.
  20. yeah fondy, its been a while since i had a reason to watch the team. For the last couple years if i was home and they were on and nothing was on TV i'd tune in but atleast early in the season i have been making a point to watch the games. This team is much more athletic than teams in the past and has some shooters and defenders, which is what i have been asking for. Now that the team might actually have some star power, they may surprise people.
  21. It bugs me a little how critical some are becoming towards this show it really doesn't bug me. The show is probably the best on TV and the expectations are very high for each episode. Last nights episode was better than just about anything on TV, but wasn't one of their greatest efforts.
  22. i thought the returning favors got a little old quick, the pam and jim thing was funny. Not a bad episode overall but not one of the best efforts of the season either.
  23. going tomorrow, won't be able to watch tonight but im excited to see finally what Jennings can do. I think its the right move to start Jennings over Ridnour day 1 as Luke has no future with this club and is still only an average PG at best.
  24. just found this and if even half of this stuff is true, its really a black eye for the nba who's referees integrity has always been in question. http://deadspin.com/53920...ead?skyline=true&s=x To have a little fun at the expense of the worst troublemakers, the referees working the game would sometimes make a modest friendly wager amongst themselves: first ref to give one of the bad boys a technical foul wouldn't have to tip the ball boy that night Relationships between NBA players and referees were generally all over the board-love, hate, and everything in-between. Some players, even very good ones, were targeted by referees and the league because they were too talented for their own good...If Kobe Bryant had two fouls in the first or second quarter and went to the bench, one referee would tell the other two, "Kobe's got two fouls. Let's make sure that if we call a foul on him, it's an obvious foul, because otherwise he's gonna go back to the bench. If he is involved in a play where a foul is called, give the foul to another player." Crawford wanted the game over quickly so he could kick back, relax, and have a beer; [Dick Bavetta] wanted it to keep going so he could hear his name on TV. He actually paid an American Airlines employee to watch all the games he worked and write down everything the TV commentators said about him. No matter how late the game was over, he'd wake her up for a full report. He loved the attention....Studying under Dick Bavetta for 13 years was like pursuing a graduate degree in advanced game manipulation. He knew how to marshal the tempo and tone of a game better than any referee in the league, by far. He also knew how to take subtle-and not so subtle-cues from the NBA front office and extend a playoff series or, worse yet, change the complexion of that series. and it goes on. I think there is a lot of sour grapes on Donaghy's part but still most of this stuff is not that unbelievable.
